Back from Phuket Trip (Patong)

Duration
4 nights.

Spending Money
Changed S$800 for 18,640 Thai Baht @ 23.30, end of the trip still left with 3k++ Thai Baht.

Cost of Air Ticket and Hotel
See this link: https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2019/02/going-to-phuket-after-songkran.html

For hotel we stayed at Millennium Resort Patong Phuket, location is very convenient and well-known, it's connected to the Jungceylon shopping mall.

Taxi
On day of arrival we took an 800 Baht taxi to hotel, on the way the driver stopped at their office and the sales lady offered same price to book return trip to airport, I just booked without thinking much, after that a bit regret because at hotel also can book, they even have a taxi counter at the hotel lobby. One bad thing about booking in advance is say you fix the time at 4:30pm, the driver will only arrive around that time, we tried asking for early pickup on the day of departure but somehow that didn't happen. So if you want flexibility, don't book in advance.

For our case, our checkout time was 12pm, we booked 4:30pm because flight home was 7:50pm. Good thing we managed to request for late checkout at 2pm at no extra charge but have to check with the hotel one day before, but still ended up having to wait around 2 hours+ for the taxi, good thing the hotel lobby is very comfortable, spacious and quiet so not too bad.

Internet
AIS 149 Baht for 7 days 10GB data, way more than enough for me. I bought it at the airport.

Beach
It was about 10 mins walk for us, for people without young children you probably need no more than 5 mins. The Patong beach is terrible compared to Nai Yang, so stinky and litter everywhere, the walk there is even worse, the road smell of shit and piss, super yucky, it's a whole stretch of bar by the way, we went in the morning so all closed, I think at night when people get drunk they probably just puke/shit/piss all over the place.

Some Thoughts
To be honest I enjoyed my first trip to Phuket much more than this one, this feels too touristy, pricing at this area is also very targeted at tourists, just imagine Sentosa in Singapore or Genting in Malaysia, but that's not the worse part, the touting can be quite annoying but still mild compared to Bangkok. Just imagine you sit at the beach with your family and just want to enjoy the breeze and scenery and this guy comes up to you and keep trying to sell you packages for jet ski and etc. But anyway Patong also don't have much of a scenery with the shit smell and garbage all over.

Overall it's still alright if you are staying at Jungceylon, as long as you stay away from the stinky beach, because you have everything at one area all interlinked together so you don't have to go out of the way unless you are here for the water sports for hiking, so it's great for families with young children.

Just to highlight that the MK Restaurant at Jungceylon, their menu is similar to what you see elsewhere but the roast duck/pork/char siew dishes they start from 4xx Baht, elsewhere 4xx is the price for large, but here is for small, but their small serving is not small, so we ended up ordering the small as you can see in one of the photos, and we can't finish it. Same goes for the Kai Lan, the small is actually the large so place your order with care. Total I paid 1,8xx Baht, around S$7x.xx, phew, the steamboat went to waste because can't finish.
