Back from Bangkok Part 3 of 3

Last hotel of the trip, Novotel Bangkok On Siam Square. Of the 3 hotels that we stayed, this is the most expensive.

Price: 2 nights including all taxes was S$312.92, that's S$156.46 per night.

For the price I think the Holiday Inn Bangkok Silom was way better overall and way cheaper. I guess Novotel is more expensive due to the really great location, it's all walking distance to the major malls and shopping areas, can even walk to MBK or the Erawan Shrine.

Photos below.

Not a great way to start the experience, see that black ant haha.

For the pricing, they actually only provided a queen-sized bed, how disappointing, furthermore I booked a non-smoking room and they only had a smoking room with double bed; the one available non-smoking room had twin beds. Even though I'm a smoker, I find the room a bit smokey, wife was complaining but well not much of a choice. More expensive doesn't mean good.

Overall the interior feels dated compared to Holiday Inn Bangkok Silom.

Creepy door which links to the other room.

Disgusting looking sofa, I wonder when was the last time they actually cleaned it.

Surprise find, found this A&W restaurant, got to try the legendary root beer float and it didn't disappoint.

Random takoyaki stall which was really good, 55 Baht for 5 or 6 pieces, pretty big pieces too.

I think the walkways under the BTS is a really good idea, wonder why Singapore didn't implement, I suppose can split into two lanes, one for walking, one for cycling or scootering. Can make it wider though, there's actually a lot of space after each pillars, maybe can also set up some pop-up stalls selling food or random stuff.

Erawan Shrine, I always visit whenever I come to BKK. But these days no burning, so feels kind of weird, pray without burning the joss sticks and candles.

Fried oysters at MBK, very nice and crispy. The carrot cake was not as good as the Lee cafe version.

Dim sum buffet at Novotel, wanted to try but didn't go.

Sent wife's cousin to Mo Chit, really far from our hotel, but just go see see, nothing much to see though.

Back to hotel, decided to try the Texas chicken, buddy meal only 188 Baht, so cheap compared to Singapore.

Novotel minibar pricing, so exorbitant, one M&M for 150 Baht, it's the small packet by the way.

Had lunch at Suvarnabhumi Airport before boarding the plane home.

Dinner at Changi Airport T2 after we arrived in Singapore. Fish and co again haha.
