Take bus sometimes also have the shit smell but not as bad as MRT.

I don't know what to say, shitting and farting is natural but to do so in train or bus with many people is just insane, people should practice good bowel habits, clear your shit regularly.

Strangely Circle Line and Downtown Line I don't get the shit smell, maybe I don't take frequently enough but EWL and NSL every single fucking ride have the shit smell.

Another thing is EWL and NSL always very crowded, if lucky can board a less crowded train but will still have shit smell.

Sigh this country really getting too crowded and smelly, go to work have to smell shit, come back from work have to smell shit, weekend go out if take EWL/NSL have to smell shit, seriously wtf.

Definitely won't want to retire here, everything also getting expensive, don't know what this government is doing.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4457326378718058138.post-51850937864781728792024-02-14T19:26:00.004+08:002024-02-14T19:26:34.415+08:00Belkin SoundForm Play AUC005 Update
https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2024/02/belkin-soundform-play-auc005.html

After using this for two days, I love it, the battery indicator is super nice and the sound is really not bad at all, even got bass control.

The battery life is also pretty good but not big issue for me since I bought two of it.

No regret for this purchase.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4457326378718058138.post-20415557472149915342024-02-12T20:11:00.003+08:002024-02-12T20:11:29.751+08:00Belkin SoundForm Play AUC005
https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2023/07/bought-nokia-e3100-plus.html

Getting tired of the headphone peeling off, decided to get true wireless earbuds instead, saw this Belkin model selling for S$29.90, bought two of it.

The sound is surprisingly good, way better than the Nokia E3100 Plus.

Good buy.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4457326378718058138.post-69741942230827921312024-02-10T21:57:00.003+08:002024-02-10T21:57:43.658+08:00Chicken Biryani on CNY
Most of the shop closed during CNY day one, at least Indian restaurant still open and we went to have Chicken Biryani, damn good.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4457326378718058138.post-39626770284368654642024-01-30T21:22:00.001+08:002024-01-30T21:22:24.422+08:0010th Day at New Job
After starting work, there was some more onboarding stuff, took a while to go through, the major piece left should be server access, after that should be more or less there I guess.

There are many systems talking to each other so need some time for my info and access to propagate but I guess that's just how MNCs have to operate, everything have to be digitalised, systemised and integrated so they can run global operations easily, beautiful thing is that everything is linked together and I can just login with single sign-on to access whatever I need anytime anywhere.

There's also no such thing as physical signature, everything is digital signature, finally I don't have to print, sign and scan anymore.

I also got my first pay and payslip, I wasn't aware that I needed to submit my bank details by myself until the payroll team alerted me, so I just sent them my bank details via email and they manually processed it, since the system doesn't allow editing bank details once payroll starts processing. After payroll completed processing, they informed me to go to the portal to add my bank details by myself and set a start date, all self-service, can change my bank anytime.

As for my actual workplace, it's at customer site, nothing fancy but the overall culture there feels relaxed, everybody is very chill and nice, just the incident manager is kind of a workaholic and very on the ball on chasing after things but I can't really fault him because it's a mission critical system so I don't think he can afford to lag behind, but naturally with this kind of manager, sure got people dislike, I got sense a few but I just listen and blend in, I newbie so better not get involved in this kind of politics, I just focus on getting up to speed, do my job and not step on any toes will do.

Overall my feel is that the project is well-staffed, everybody has a specific role and scope, there are multiple teams running the operations, they use old but still state of the art hardware and products, there are also SOPs and monitoring in place, maybe that's why the culture feels relaxed and people are chill, everybody knows what to do, every component serves a purpose, I think this should be the way, unlike my previous company the projects are always understaffed, poorly implemented and pointless, and everybody has to take on multiple roles and scopes, then everybody feels burned out, it's crazy now that I look back at it, how the heck did I even manage to stay there for 5 years and get exploited for 5 years, really should not have rejoined...

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4457326378718058138.post-82226352715029198492024-01-18T20:45:00.000+08:002024-01-18T20:45:11.035+08:00First Day at Actual Workplace
https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2024/01/first-day-at-new-company.html

Today went to the actual workplace, indeed it is not as posh, just an open office space with desk and seat arrangement similar to those that one typically see in a call centre but my job is not taking call, they will route cases via a ticketing system and my job is to find out what is the issue, very focused role, no more bao sua bao hai.

Starting nothing much for me and I don't have the access to the ticketing system or server yet, so I'm supposed to learn from another guy on existing issues, overall the culture seems very chill, everybody very chill, no particular dress code but seems like business casual is the norm, some even just wear t-shirt.

Only thing is need to change pass to enter the area, have to be careful not to lose the pass and remember to return it before going home or leaving the site and the pass is for entry to specific areas only, cannot anyhow roam around.

Travel to the workplace is about 10 mins longer than my previous job, not too bad, return trip is about the same not much difference, Singapore is not a big place afterall.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4457326378718058138.post-89442632370479701372024-01-17T18:43:00.004+08:002024-01-17T18:43:53.178+08:00First Day at New Company
This is probably the coolest first day that I have ever experienced, maybe because it is an American MNC, their culture is more open I guess. Their office very nice sia, even got a Starbuck-ish cafe inside. I also noticed hardly anyone wear formal, guys are in t-shirt or polo then jeans or pants and sports shoes or covered shoes, gals in t-shirt then pants and covered shoes.

But then that's only for collection of laptop, actual workplace is at somewhere else haha, probably not as posh.

Reported at 10 AM to collect my laptop, it's just laptop and charger nothing else, no bag no mouse, the laptop setup process is pretty straightforward, I can see they are using a lot of modern tools.

After that went home to do some security training, actually it's just a video of what not to do and sign a form that's it. Then they created a bunch of accounts for me, Gitlab, Jira and whatnot.

Tomorrow will report to the actual workplace, about 1 hour+ trip from home, not too bad, have many different routes but I think I try MRT first, but still have to take one bus at the end.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4457326378718058138.post-51740950568365344522024-01-16T19:21:00.004+08:002024-01-16T19:21:28.587+08:00Finally Last Day
https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2024/01/10-more-days-to-new-job.html

Today is my last day at current company, tomorrow moving on to new role, new environment, meet new people, looking forward to it!

Haha, really damn glad to be able to get out, phew, like a huge stone off my chest.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4457326378718058138.post-33068848013569175082024-01-02T21:41:00.000+08:002024-01-02T21:41:03.291+08:0010 More Days to New Job
https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2023/12/18-more-days-to-f-off.html

Getting closer and closer!

Today received the onboarding form for new company, the way they onboard got standard and systematic, they using ServiceNow employee onboarding, so just need to submit all the documents online.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4457326378718058138.post-53154320198658333802023-12-28T19:34:00.004+08:002023-12-28T19:34:44.687+08:00Indonesian Cai Png
The fried chicken damn solid, the sambal goreng also power, the eggplant with chilli also super.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; Hopefully can plan out everything via email or phone call because I still have a 3 months confirmation period at new job so can't take leave also.

By the way wife also supposed to go for operation, she seen the surgeon last month but declined going for operation, said she feels healthy, well nobody can't force her, ultimately it's her decision, I can only encourage her. If this is indeed the case, that sounds really lame sia.

Actually I don't even gaf about the bonus already, so I don't really gaf about these 3 days, if they really want to makan, take it lor.

If you think about it the cannot offset notice period part is kind of stupid if they are not out to makan people's annual leave, I mean why would they not allow people to offset and then in the end still pay back right.

But then thinking about it again, mine is 3 days short though, I guess my case should be rare, such a policy would make sense for people short of 1-3 months with a high base salary, like salary is S$10,000, short 3 months have to pay S$30,000 cash, such a person would have to think thrice before throwing letter like that.

For me even if I earn S$10,000, 3 days also ~S$1300, which they will pay me back with my 3 days annual leave anyway lol, but I don't earn so much la.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4457326378718058138.post-23403626849225950242023-11-21T19:41:00.003+08:002023-11-21T19:41:37.263+08:00Finally Throw Letter
https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2023/11/signed-letter-of-offer.html

Today recruiter informed me that my G50 is cleared and I can proceed to tender my resignation. There was this background check that they initiated last week, I asked if it has been cleared as well, the recruiter told me it will move concurrently but most important is the G50 clearance.

And since there is about a week's delay due to the G50 clearance, as per the letter of offer signed last week, if I tender today I would be short of 5 days for my notice period, I only left with 3 days leave, minus that I'm still short of 2 days, so I asked if I can move my start date 2 days later, recruiter managed to get approval and sent me a revised letter of offer, I read through seems to be the same except start date is 2 days later, so I e-signed and returned to the recruiter.

After that looks like everything is in place, last day at current company and then the next day start at new company, no rest in between but no complain there, revised letter of offer also e-signed and returned, so I tendered my resignation to big boss, immediate supervisor and HR via email. I also sent a copy to the recruiter to show that I have indeed tendered my resignation to show that I'm serious about the offer, recruiter acknowledged and said see me on my first day. Sweet.

Maybe just a note on how I felt when I tendered, actually tendered with a heavy heart because the big bosses are nice, just the immediate supervisor and overall work culture sibeh toxic, or maybe because today I feel a bit sick so I feel heavy, my ears have been blocked since last week, who knows.

My immediate supervisor called me in for a talk, this time he don't gaslight me anymore, but instead he kept telling me outside no good or why not transfer internally and whatnot, I only keep saying want a change of environment haha.

Big boss on holiday, he said he hopes to find out more from me haha, I will say the same thing, change of environment lol, he's a nice guy la.

Seriously no point saying who not good or what not good, I already decided to leave, what the heck does it matter what I think, so just respond with a politically correct answer such as "change of environment" will do, no need and no point to talk too much.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4457326378718058138.post-84255596791472857242023-11-18T15:29:00.006+08:002023-11-18T15:29:49.144+08:00KFC Cheese Fries, Hot & Crispy Chicken

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4457326378718058138.post-6252534330452601552023-11-15T19:15:00.001+08:002023-11-15T19:15:45.300+08:00Signed Letter of Offer
https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2023/11/going-to-throw-letter-soon.html

I got the letter of offer today via their system, went online and signed it, they also sent me the benefits package, looks like the usual stuff, nothing fantastic.

This offer is pending the G50 clearance though, probably will know by next week, recruiter told me I can sign first and throw letter once G50 confirmed.

Wait for one more week.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4457326378718058138.post-6018812214996739012023-11-12T20:14:00.002+08:002023-11-12T20:14:40.959+08:00$CRO Back to $0.10
Ever since the FTX collapse back in Nov 2022, $CRO has fell below $0.10 and stayed below for a year, then 2 days ago it reclaimed $0.10 and yesterday it broke above, good thing I have been holding it all along and didn't sell at the bottom. By the way I parked all of it in defi to earn interest.

I did buy a little bit of $CRO here and there to average down, but now I'm largely holding USDC and USDT because this time round I am more cautious, the last time I fomo I undo all my profits and got wrecked instead, I just have this gut feeling that a big crash is coming, not just crypto crash but a global crash, so I feel more comfortable holding cash instead.

I also started to unwind some of my old trading positions, those that got stuck in limbo when $CRO went to shit, managed to unwind quite a few already, just left a few big ones, these are mainly my CRO/BTC and ETH/CRO positions.

I parked all of my USDC and USDT in defi, collecting a nice 5-10% interest, yeah the interest rate just shot up to ~10%, I guess it is because people are removing their supply to buy crypto and also taking loan to buy too, not my cup of tea though, this time I more kia see, say if I miss the bus at least my USDC and USDT is earning way more than if I put in bank so still a win.

This time round I must be patient and wait for the right time to buy, not going to listen to any Do Kwon or any stupid shillers haha.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0
