Super Hot and Sunny These Few Days

My room thermometer shows 31 degrees celsius, Google shows 33 degrees, really hot, the sun light is piercing and makes me sweat all over, and these few days got to travel outside, sigh, got several places to run, but not bad, at least I don't have to sit and face the computer all the time, only problem is the hot sun, must drink plenty of water to keep myself hydrated. I noticed that our weather is getting hotter, did we used to have 33 degrees in Singapore? I remember the hottest was 31 or 32, is it getting hotter now? Global warming? I hope our great scientists have a solution to this problem, imagine one day Singapore becomes as hot as Thailand or India. I remember when I was at my wife's hometown, the weather there is about 39 degrees and it's normal for them, heard they can even go up to 40+, but night time is very cold, no need aircon.

Just now I tried to topup and it works, I topup $20 and when I took the bus, it shows $20, I thought they were going to deduct $5 for the card but I think it's free and comes with the Everyday Card, not bad, it's a free EZ-Link card!

KNN Polyclinic Consultation $41.70

This morning accompany my wife to Tampines Polyclinic, reached there at 10.32am, took a queue number and went to the registration area, quite packed but still have some seats, waited 1 hour just for the registration, they have 11 counters, only 5 or 6 open, 2 staff busy chatting with each other, 30 minutes later, only 4 open, out of these 4, only 3 working, one counter don't know doing what. Finally at 11.32am, we got registered, next we move on to the consultation room at level 2, waited another 1 hour to see the doctor, then do the INR, took about 5 minutes since no people at the lab, then see the doctor again, then finally collect medicine, pay money and left the place at 1.32am, took exactly 3 hours. Damn siong, 3 hours just to take 2 weeks medicine, and 2 weeks later have to come back again because wife's INR reading too low at 1.3, normal should be between 2 to 3, best is 2.5. But at least today the doctor was nice, it was a young male doctor, about my age I guess, so

Jubilee Baby Gift Both Singaporean Parents Then Eligible?

Source A Marie Dini Osmond said, "For Singaporean babies only and both parents must be Singaporean in order to be eligible for this. I really hope the government have this criteria in place." So if I have a baby next year and I'm not supposed to be eligible because my wife is a foreigner? Haha so sad, one freebie brings out the selfishness of this country's people, I'm sure she's not the only one who thinks like that, a lot of Singaporeans simply hate foreigners, even if spouse of Singaporeans also hate, it's just the way it is. Anyway I suggested 10 gold bars, they probably won't bother to consider my suggestion haha but seriously, if they don't give money then I hope they give something useful, please don't give some stupid worthless coin like in army, waste of taxpayers' money, at least give diapers, milk powder, baby clothes, Grace Fu say give one sarong with Singapore flag to wrap baby, at least that sounds useful, or easiest, g

Singapore at 40 Degrees Celsius?

Just now while in the taxi to customer's site, I noticed that the thermometer in the taxi shows 40 degrees, the weather is really hot these few days, sweating all the time, worst is in the morning when I walk to the train station, super hot and humid, sweating like a pig. By the way the walking distance to the train station is about 1KM+, I know it's quite far to walk but I'm used to it, have been walking for a few years already, mainly is to exercise, I also walk home after work!

79 Year Old Man Collecting Medicine

Just now when I was hiding in one corner smoking with a co-worker, an old man approached us, he seemed lost so I asked him where he was going, he said he wants to collect medicine, so I asked for his prescription to see if there was any address, then he said he was told to collect at SGH block 4, immediately I knew it was the retail pharmacy as I have been there several times during my wife's pregnancy last year. So I pointed him to the correct direction, and while doing that, I noticed that he had difficult walking, his pace was really slow and I was worried he might end up at the wrong place so I told him to wait for me to smoke finish and then I'll bring him there. So while walking we chatted a bit, I asked whether he came alone and he said yes, then I asked where his children were, he paused for a while and told me they were busy with their life or work, didn't hear clearly, and he sounded like a Teochew, I can tell because my grandmother is a Teochew, I also asked wh

Starhub Fibre Suddenly So Slow (Update)

Previous post. Today seems to have improved a lot, last weekend was terrible but still usable if I keep refreshing the page but it's really annoying. So yesterday morning the Starhub support replied to my email asking me some questions and telling me to attach the error screen with some technical information such as trace route and ip configuration, I did so when I reached home but found that the connection improved a bit, but I send them the information they require anyway. And today was so much better, I think they did something in the backend, I don't see anymore disconnection or unable to find server error, I hope it doesn't happen again.

LTVP+ Holders Not Allowed Babysit at Home to Earn Money

My wife is a housewife so she mostly stays at home to do the chores, I was thinking maybe she could earn some income by babysitting at home, I spoke with her regarding this and she doesn't seem to reject it so I decided to explore this possibility. The idea came to me when I visited the Singapore Babysitter Connect forum at mummysg.com and realized that there are plenty of residents here looking for babysitters, so I thought why not, but before I act on anything, I checked with MOM regarding the legality because I feel that it's quite a grey area as in there's no fixed employer, it's like a casual job, can't expect all the parents to apply letter of consent for her right. But to be sure, I dropped MOM an enquiry, today they got back to me, the lady on the line made it clear that LTVP+ is meant for my wife to stay here only, so that means if she wants to work or even babysit at home, she would need a letter of consent. I also confirmed that unless she is babysit
