Today received letter saying I am promoted to corporal, what the crap, will I need to do more reservist or what, better not ask me to go back more, I left one last time can F off from army. Anyway today went to eat at Yum Cha Chinatown again, food always so good, but today only took one picture. Siew Mai Delicious!

Wife Say Jackie Chan is Dead

Yesterday wife told me Jackie Chan died and I didn't really bother, since he is so famous it don't surprise me if people try to spread rumours, and I was right, today found out that it is a hoax, some people like to spread stupid lies, must be too free. He is around the same age as my parents, he can be my father lol, I think with his fitness it won't surprise me if he lives a long life, healthy and active people usually live very long, just like my grandmother, she was active until she died, she died 80+.

First Day of Using My Smartphone

So today I decided to turn on my mobile data for the whole day to try to gauge the data that I will use in a workday but of course prior to that I thought I have already set mobile data to off for apps that I don't use. End up when I reached home only use 1.3 MB of data, actually can be lower because I didn't turn off mobile data for iCloud, it was doing syncing in the background under System Services. I think should be fine to just leave mobile data on, unless battery life is a concern you can turn it off, I even leave wifi on all the time lol.

Tried KFC Parmesan Chicken

I ordered the 12 piece (2 parmesan, 2 hot and crispy and 8 original), a medium coleslaw and whipped potato, all for $40.90. I paid with my POSB Everyday card and got a 6 piece chicken nuggets free. You must be thinking how come 2 person order so much lol, if cannot finish tomorrow can eat la, just put in microwave 2 minutes settle. KFC Mix The parmesan chicken is so-so, the breading is super thick, even thicker than the hot and crispy, strong cheese taste but too thick la. It comes with small tubs of truffle-flavoured cheese sauce, taste very weird. The hot and crispy chicken not bad, I think popeyes better, but the original chicken still the best.

Can See Wife's Recent Calls on My iPhone 6S

Just now suddenly all her recent calls appear on my phone, after that I found that it is because we are both signed in to the same iCloud account, that is because I was trying to turn on the Find My Phone service on both of our phone so have to sign-in. So I googled and seems like many husband and wife also share the same iCloud account lol, end up the best solution is to use separate accounts. In the end wife say she don't want the Find My Phone service, scared I track her lol crazy, also good, she turn off so the sync issue will be gone.

Finally Upgraded to Smartphone (iPhone 6S)

Been using classic phone since 2010, about 6 years now, prior to that I was using Samsung Omnia II, it's a Windows phone, after that I sold it because I still like classic phone, simple, light, easy to use and cheap to replace. Nowadays smartphone seems like a norm, people even stare into their smartphone on the dinner table, while walking and whatnot, kind of odd to be without one, even ah pek and ah ma also using smartphone lol, but seriously it's very useful when I am outside, I can surf net and check stuff, no need to be in front of my desk all the time. Today I went ahead to buy a smartphone, just to get it out of my head, why think so much right, I bought myself an iPhone 6S 16GB Gold, very nice, bought it for $761 at Starhub, signed for their 4G 3 plan (comes with 3GB data), one month $42.90. Actually for my plan can get it at $561, but I re-contract early so they charged me $200 more, still ok, I checked out apple store it was selling at $1048, $287 difference, so eve

Went for Medical Review at Camp

Today took leave to go for the review, almost cannot enter because the NS portal is doing some upgrade, cannot view the e-appt, but luckily the guard let me in because he know I am NSman, he lend me his smartphone to log in to the portal, I told him if I have no business at the camp I won't even be there, at least he understand so I guess army guys all have some level of same understanding. But next time better remember to print out the appointment slip, like that easier for everyone. So somehow today so many people report sick, my appointment was 10:15 AM, waited until almost 12 PM I cannot take it I go ask how many people in front, the clerk say 12 I almost fainted lol, then since I am NSman he understand I might have somewhere else to go to so he spoke to the MO and I got to jump queue, anyway it's good for me and NSF, for NSF best is they can spend the whole day at the medical centre so can siam training, I was NSF before so I know, but for NSman we really don't have

Tried Popeyes Chicken

I ordered from foodpanda, delivery charge was $5, delivered earlier than expected and food was still hot. I think compared to KFC this one is more crispy, have a corn flavour, quite nice, and it is very juicy, KFC is more dry but KFC have more flavour because of their special spices. Note that I am comparing to KFC crispy version, the original version is still the most power but overall KFC is more oily. I think both are nice but wife don't like thick breading, me neither so I guess KFC original chicken is still the best. Popeyes mashed potatoes and coleslaw are very special, the coleslaw have a very nice fragrant, think it is some sort of herb smell, and the potato have a special gravy, also very nice. Personally I still like KFC coleslaw, but mashed potatoes I like Popeyes more. Their biscuits also not bad, I think it would go very well with milk, coffee, tea or milo.

Replaced My Bathroom Basin Tap

These few weeks I noticed that the tap was dripping, not a lot to make any difference to my utility bill but it is very annoying. So today I went and bought a $30 tap and tried replacing by myself. I had only a big spanner and I thought it was sufficient but ended up that the angle was very awkward and I can't get in to loosen the tap, so I went and google and found that there is a tool call Basin Wrench, one piece only $7, went back to the same shop to buy. So with the new tool, it was so much easier to loosen the tap, the tool can be used to loosen the hose and the other side can be used to loosen the tap, very useful 2-in-1 tool. The shop which sold me the tap offered to replace for me but I declined, I guess it's not going to be cheap, after trying it out myself it's actually very easy to do, just need the right tool and all can be done in less than 15 minutes.

iPhone SE So Small!

Just now while checking out iPad Mini 4, I also looked at the iPhone SE, it is so small, alamak, after using iPhone 6S Plus the SE looks so tiny lol, think I won't buy, will wait for the new iPhone and see how. 6S Plus is too big for me, SE is too tiny, I think something like 6S would be nice but don't feel like buying 6S since wife already have 6S Plus, if want to buy might as well wait for next generation and see what new things they have.

Bought iPad Mini 4 @ $548 for Baby

Just now went to Challenger and bought a gold iPad Mini 4 16GB for $548. The salesman said if I sign up for membership I only need to pay $30 more to get 2 freebies worth $68, sounds like a good deal so I signed up. The freebies are screen protector ($29) and casing ($39) for iPad Mini 4. I put on the screen protector myself, damn so delicate have to be very careful, took more than 30 mins to put on lol. After that found that the casing have one long horizontal scratch, don't know I scratch it or it was already there but never mind since the purpose of the casing is to protect the iPad, and since it is for baby I guess eventually will have lots of scratches so I tell myself don't bother la. And apple products always so easy to setup and use, no sweat at all, iOS really the best.
