Maybe Going to Thailand

Wife next month go back home, bring baby with her, thought she going to do heart operation but end up doctor advise to do later, maybe want to try drag a few years or until really serious symptom then operate. Anyway I not sure I can go or not, now is busy period so many shit to oversee, if can end of April go fetch them back.

Wife Went for Echo Scan

Today went for echo no consultation, bill around $200+, end up can pay by Medisave so pay $0 cash. Found that there is a withdrawal limit on such claim, one year can only claim $300 which is quite strange but good thing every year only need to scan maximum twice so not too bad. Anyway wife intend to go for heart operation to replace her faulty heart valve, next week see the doctor then request for it, hope can get an early date, then have to plan for her mother to come to help take care of baby.

Doctor thinks she is doing very well both in terms of development and her heart condition. Wife thinks hole not completely closed but just now clarified with doctor actually is closed, just that like any bodily wound it needs time to heal so the follow-up is mainly to check on her recovery. And since she is doing well, her follow-up interval has been changed to yearly instead of 6-monthly, so next appointment is next year. Today paid $115 after government subsidy.

Samurice Sucks

Image
Definitely the worst food that I have ever ordered from Foodpanda, wasted my $10 voucher from Grab. The chicken karaage not fresh, have a smell, no wonder fry until so black trying to cover the smell. The salmon wasabi mayo onigiri still ok, edible but nothing special. By the way it comes with one lump of wasabi but it doesn't taste like wasabi. And it's just some mayonnaise with hardly any salmon, mostly it's just the rice. The salmon roe onigiri is super fishy and the rice soaked with some sort of red water, think the eggs broke inside, eat already feel like vomiting. Overall samurice give me the impression they are like some sort of mommy's failed kitchen experiments, this kind of standard still open shop. No wonder every time walk by their restaurant hardly any people even during weekends. Avoid it if you don't want to waste your money.

Logitech G603 Gaming Mouse $109

This one totally worth every single dollar, don't feel any lag at all, unlike the cheap wireless mouse I got years ago, play halfway can hang. Note that this mouse a bit heavy, good thing there is option to take out one battery which helps to lighten a bit. The Logitech Gaming Software also very easy to use, can use it to configure the mouse. Just download online. Also comes with an extension cable and two AA batteries.

Types of Graduates in IT

I had the opportunity of working with many graduates from different countries so far this is my observation. I also noticed that those who study in home country then come here versus those who study here, graduate and work here their mindset can be very different. So far I think most jia lat is group 5, Malaysian graduates who studied in their home country and then come work in Singapore. Got one even asked me should email or call the user lol, this kind of simple thing also cannot decide. Malaysia should really do something about their graduates, nowadays with so much fierce competition if still maintain this standard one day sure lose out. 1. China, study in CN work in SG Very hungry for progress, very eager attitude, can think out of the box, have the guts to voice their opinion, willing to make sacrifices. 2. China, study in SG work in SG These are usually from NTU or NUS. So far this group seems less eager than group 1, they have a more laissez-faire attitude, more passive

Bought Bak Kwa 500g for $18 at Fragrance

Today went to Chinatown, so crowded and so many new year goods stalls, selling so many new products that I have never seen before. If want to buy anything now not good time to go, too freaking crowded plus the hot weather really head pain. Anyway didn't buy much, actually also didn't want to go through all that stalls but just happened to have lunch at Yum Cha restaurant so have to go through there. Want to eat bak kwa now is good time before they increase the price. Fragrance signature bak kwa 500g for $27, the trimmed off ones or rather less good looking ones they selling 500g for $18, actually it's the same thing just that signature is nice looking square so better for giving to people as gift, but for me eat at home make no sense to pay extra $9 just for good looking, got to cut it anyway lol.

This Whole Month Never Take Leave

I completed one whole month of work without taking any leave, even I myself also surprised, somehow now don't feel so sian about my job, I guess switching to a different role helps. Previously every month at least will take one day leave or MC because really don't feel like going to work at all. So for you guys who is now sick and tired of your job, can try asking your boss to put you in a different role, do something different then not so sian. So now my job so far so good, get to meet different people, do different things, have more power over things, also get to teach people how to do things, feels so different, so dynamic, so confident. Actually now the things that I do is more challenging, but somehow feels good about it, I guess a person cannot stay stagnant, do the same shit everyday sure get sickening very fast, same like if you eat the same food everyday also sian.

Taking On Bigger Role at Work

Previously my boss designated me as the project manager for two projects, it's just designation so salary never increase, then sibei tiring, have to be the target board if problem arise, then have to prepare progress report, have to attend user meetings, have to deal with key users, really so tedious, then have to manage junior staff, wah piang really peng. From the shitty experience I know project management is not my cup of tea, actually all okay except the people part, junior staff cannot make it management expect me to train, based on my experience I can tell you if someone cannot make it, no matter how you train also useless, teach a man how to fish and he can take care of himself, but if the man refuse to put in effort then you are just wasting your time. Then users completely unreasonable management expect me to bend over, company always advocate staff are asset all bullshit, the fact is staff are expendable not happy they can always hire another one but project cannot los

Pizza Hut Delivery is Awesome

Recently I have been ordering from Pizza Hut quite often thanks to the free pizza coupons that they gave when they were late, but I still have to say that their delivery service is excellent. Their online ordering site is just simply industry standard, shopping cart style, just like KFC or McDonald's so nothing special here, choose your food, go to cart, checkout, pay online or cash-on-delivery. What is truly amazing is when I receive the food from their awesome delivery guys, when they are late, they ALWAYS come with a free pizza coupon stapled on the receipt, no question asked, they must have known it will be late so they must have stapled it in advance, this is pro-activeness, they know they have a problem and they come with a solution, this is commendable. Either that or their delivery guys bring along a staple with them but I doubt so, even if this is the case, it is still commendable, this is readiness, and I appreciate it. Then packaging, their packaging is awesome, ev
