Cold Calls from Recruitment Firms

Recently received quite a number of calls from recruitment companies, I already set my jobstreet profile to private so I don't think they got my details from there. So I asked one of them how they managed to get my profile, the guy told me they have it in their system from last year, told him currently not looking for job, he then asked me if I have any friend to recommend can call him. Sounds like they are getting desperate, digging through old profiles and making cold calls, machiam telemarketing. Anyway I have been working in current company for slightly over 2 years now, the project that I am working on has recently launched, no doubt very buggy but at least didn't have to rollback which we almost did due to some missing migrated data, luckily managed to discover and fix it and go ahead to rollout. Still many outstanding problems though but I suppose it's only natural, new system sure have teething issues, maybe another 6 months to 1 year it should stabilise. I saw this

Update on Kitchen

https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2020/11/bought-new-kitchen-and-kitchen-table.html Very satisfied with this new kitchen, this open concept is kind of cool, can see everything, if dirty can tell easily and clean up easily, should have got this from the beginning, I think when we move to new flat, definitely going to get this same kitchen or something similar. That's what I call cheap and good. I still like movable, no-need-to-dismantle furniture, for example wardrobe, don't like the built-in type, same rationale, if spoil or what need to dismantle, movable type just throw the whole thing away, way easier.

Bought New Kitchen and Kitchen Table (sort of)

Image
So yesterday had a body-aching-day, today not any better. Went to IKEA and bought SUNNERSTA kitchen (S$223) and FLYTTA kitchen trolley (S$249) which is actually our kitchen table. The SUNNERSTA has two versions, one is rack + sink, the other is rack + sink + water tap + pipe, I bought the latter. The assembly of the FLYTTA (S$249) was alright, only tool that they didn't provide is a large cross screw driver, other than that everything else was quite straightforward. Love this trolley-table, I think everybody should just get trolley-tables, so convenient. The assembly of the SUNNERSTA is seriously wtf, other than a large cross screw driver, also need a pipe cutter, wife went to buy a small hand saw just for this, S$7+. Don't understand why they didn't just pre-cut it, and they didn't say anything about how much to cut, only a picture to give a super rough idea. And the part (2 piece push together) that attach from the back of the sink to the bottom of the sink, geez spe

Dismantled Lower Cabinet, Replaced Burst Water Pipe

Today my wife keep nagging me about the kitchen sink (been nagging for a long time, geez), it has been leaking since forever, waiting for my father to fix but I think he is busy so don't want to keep chasing him, I know right, I don't like it when people keep chasing me. So I thought it's time I took things into my own hands. I personally dismantled the lower cabinet, wasn't as bad as I thought because the cabinet was wet throughout so it was easy to break apart, it's all just hard labour, damn tiring, breaking it down, carry it downstairs to throw, clean up, phew. The result is an empty space, the wall looks super disgusting so I won't post any picture, have already washed but can't get rid of the stains, so we will probably just paint over it. We are thinking maybe can get a SUNNERSTA from IKEA, and a small table, so tomorrow will drop by IKEA to take a look. Then when I thought one thing settled, the shower water pipe burst, like wtf man. I went online an

Damn Super Busy Recently

Now getting more and more busy, most weekends also have to go back to office, damn tired, so fast getting to the end of the year, phew, time flies. Hopefully this month can launch the project, so maybe will slow down the pace a bit, hopefully, but realistically I don't think it will slow down much because new system usually start with many problems, we can only try to minimise the risk, can't be perfect or wait for stars to align, there's a saying, keep the ball rolling. I think I will be stuck in this current project for at least a few more months, but doesn't matter to me as long as the pay is good, it is pretty good, hopefully next year bonus will be good too. Anyway good luck to all and stay safe!

Bought JBL TUNE 700BT S$119

Previously bought the JBL Tune 500BT and it was really good for the price and I love it, now still using it. The reason why I decided to buy one more headphone is more for office use, because HR required us to put on earphones when conferencing. So the 500BT I will bring to office, then at home I will use the 700BT haha. Anyway I think major difference between the 500BT and 700BT is the battery life, 500BT can last up to 16 hours whereas the 700BT can last up to 27 hours. Another difference is the ear pads, 700BT have a much more comfortable ear pads as it almost covers the ears; the pads are bigger. Lastly the 700BT have an audio jack and comes with an audio cable which I probably won't use but good to have just in case. If you don't own either one and thinking of getting one, I recommend the 700BT, if on budget, the 500BT is really good too.

Been Really Busy Recently

These few weeks very busy with project activities, it's going live soon so a lot of work to do, a lot of loose ends to tie up before we can meet the payment milestone, almost every weekend also have to work, damn tiring. I think doing project doesn't have to be so tiring, if everybody do their part, follow the plan and deliver on time, a project can be a great learning experience instead of a terrible experience. Talking about the plan, the person coming up with the plan is even more crucial, because this person can make or break a project. Talking about project managers, in my entire IT career I have worked with many project managers, there are those sibeh zai one, and there are those who simply cannot make it, so I am pretty good at telling if a project manager is good or not and I can tell you my current project manager is the totally cannot make it type, that's why this project so siong, end up the director have to step in to drive the project so you can imagine how bad

Just Received Brochure for CareShield Life

https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/health/compulsory-careshield-life-to-start-oct-1-for-residents-born-in-1980-or-later https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/health/careshield-life-what-you-need-to-know-about-the-new-scheme Was a bit surprised, how come suddenly have a new mandatory insurance, almost thought it was a scam, so googled a bit and found that it was already announced in 2019, maybe I missed it, or maybe I read about it but totally forgotten. Anyway I think it's a good scheme which works hand in hand with the existing MediShield Life. Also seems like it is a replacement upgrade for the existing ElderShield, meaning people like my parents who are on ElderShield may opt to switch to CareShield next year, note that the premiums get upgraded as well, meaning better benefits but higher premium, also note that CareShield will have some subsidy from government whereas ElderShield don't have. Looks good to me, don't have to do anything, just pay money, those who can

Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) Passed Away at 43 Years Old

Didn't know he was suffering from cancer, in the movies he looked great, he is the black panther after all, can't imagine anyone else playing the character. Actually I didn't even know about him until I saw him in the Black Panther (2018) movie. Then I just googled what other movies he starred in, then I realise he is actually the The God of Wisdom in the movie Gods of Egypt (2016), no wonder I thought he looked familiar. Just thinking, average lifespan of a human being is about 80 years, so he left 37 years earlier, I think that's a lot of years to be able to enjoy, but then again, everyone has to go one day, just a matter of when and how. I hope he left without too much suffering. RIP.

Went to VivoCity...

And the crowd is back to pre-covid level, damn packed, what happened to the social distancing haha. But I wouldn't be too concerned as long as everybody do their part and put on a mask, which appears to be the case. Everybody also appears to be keeping good personal hygiene such as sanitising wherever possible i.e. there are sanitisers readily available for public which I believe is very helpful. Apart from mask and sanitisers, people are also keeping within the yellow lines in queues, I think it is a good effort from everyone, I believe we can get out of the situation soon as long as everyone continues doing their part. I also realise one good thing about mask, when sneezing or coughing, since people are already masked, whatever virus is contained within the mask, I believe regardless of covid or normal flu, it will help to limit the spread of any virus, so I'm thinking maybe in future when this is over, people should continue wearing mask in public, just in case there is anot

Baby iPad Mini Smashed

https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2016/04/bought-ipad-mini-4-548-for-baby.html After 4 years and 3 months of torture, the iPad finally gave up, screen cracked already, cracks all over the body, can still see but the controls just randomly go off, quite unusable. Today went to Challenger to check out the tablets, thinking of getting a new iPad but wife wanted something cheap, so I asked for the Samsung Galaxy Tab A (8.0") but they are out of stock, so ended up buying the HUAWEI MediaPad T3 (KOB-L09) for S$218, it comes with a free casing which according to the salesperson retails for S$40, so the device itself is S$178 I suppose? Also bought a screen protector for S$18 at some random handphone shop. Total paid is S$236 . The KOB-L09 variant WIFI is 802.11b/g/n@2.4 GHz, so it cannot use 5.0 GHz. By the way after I bought it, I happened to notice the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8" selling for S$188 at Courts but not sure if it come with casing though, but I think after adding

Amazon Prime After 3 Months (From Starhub)

http://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2020/04/amazon-prime-from-starhub.html After holding the free membership for 3 months, I didn't really make much use of it, only thing I did was watch movies on primevideo.com. The speed is fast, video loads instantly, just like watching YouTube. The selection is kind of limited though, mostly old movies, they don't have the latest movies, I think there are quite some drama series up there but I don't like dramas, too draggy for me, so I can't say whether the dramas are good or not. There are also Hindi movies, cartoons, but I don't watch. My daughter don't watch too, she likes YouTube more. I just saw the bill for this month, they are charging me S$2.99 for the membership now, I think I will just terminate the membership, it's cheap but I don't feel there's much to make use of for me. By the way I can't find any link to terminate Amazon Prime on the Starhub website, but I found it in the app: Under your

Back to Some Normal

Today went to have Korean BBQ, went shopping and see-see-buy-buy. I think we are on the way back to normal activities, just that now need to do the scan before entering any restaurant or shop. BBQ was less enjoyable, it used to be a buffet style BBQ, used to be able to just go get a plate and then get whatever I want, but now they changed it such that there is a staff to help you get what you want, you are not allowed to get close to the food for hygiene reason I suppose, so the experience of a buffet is not there anymore. Anyway still glad to be able to go out and walk around, good to see everyone in mask and maintain good hygiene. Hope this goes over soon.

Just Notice HDB Returned My Option Fee

http://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2020/07/finally-signed-lease-agreement.html So I signed the lease agreement on 03 Jul 2020, just checked my bank statement they GIRO in on 14 Jul 2020, so around 11 days or so, or you can say within 2 weeks. My option fee was S$1000, for a 3-room flat. Just sharing for those curious. Stay safe!

Working Throughout Weekend

Thought this polling day could be a nice long weekend to relax, go out with family, get some new clothes and whatnot, out of the blue a day before polling day I was called in to help out with a technology upgrade over the weekend, what the heck, put it nicely I was called in, put it bluntly I kena arrow, just find it ridiculous that on top of my own things that I have to do, still have to do more, with no incentive, very hard to justify to myself. Also cannot understand how come a SI/software house have such a terrible lack of technical people, as of now, almost half of the team I'm in does not have technical background, and there are so many technical tasks jammed up which nobody knows how to do, or what to do, or how to execute, when to execute, just terrible, simple things neglect until become complicated. I thought my previous company was terrible, but this is another level, can't tell from surface but when I get involved, all the ugly things start appearing. Anyway my Satu

Extracted My Upper Right 2nd Molar

Image
The night guard didn't save this molar, one time when I was eating and I felt something broke, also heard a crack sound, it split open. After that it just open and close, when it open up kind of painful, but when it close up is ok. So today went for follow-up, actually if my tooth didn't split, I probably will cancel the appointment. The dentist put some numbing cream, gave me 3 jabs and arcoxia, after that she did her magic and removed the tooth, she show it to me, split in half, damn disgusting, a bit stinky too haha. Anyway glad it's out now, it tortured me on and off for quite some time already. By the way didn't feel any pain when she removed it, only some slight discomfort when she gave me the jabs, just a slight pain but nothing overwhelming. After she let me bite onto a gauze, she gave me some arcoxia and spare gauze to change every 30 mins, by the 3rd gauze the bleeding stopped. Also told me to take panadol if I feel pain. Damn should have taken a photo of the

Finally Signed the Lease Agreement

Now still have covid-19 measures so the entrance they restrict to one, can only enter from the bus terminal side, then the usual scan and scan stuff. After that take a queue number, a staff is there to assist if not sure what to do, then go up level 3 to a some sort of temporary holding area. Then didn't have to wait too long, our number was called, after that my parent's number, we went to one counter each, signed a whole bunch of documents. For me no need to pay any cash, they will deduct 5% from my CPF account, S$15,225.05. For my parents they had to pay S$939.55 cash because they haven't pay the down payment, I think theirs is a special case because they can't use their CPF to pay, so I paid for them. Also they cannot take back the option fee of S$500 today, only when they pay up after they sell current house then can take back, my S$1000 I can take, they will credit to me in 1 month's time. By the way parent is 2-room, mine is 3-room. So now just wait for flat

Signing Lease Agreement Tomorrow

This week returned to office, I think more or less back to some normal already, can go eat at coffeeshop. Anyway tomorrow going HDB to sign the lease agreement, finally after waiting so long, doesn't have to bring much, just ID card, mobile phone for the SingPass login, and baby's birth certificate, all have to be original though. Really looking forward to getting new house, I think probably might need to wait until at least 2022 to get keys.

Still Stuck Working From Home

Now still stuck at home, HR required large majority of us to work from home unless there is very good reason not to, for example laptop spoil need to bring back for checkup, or any other duty that cannot be performed remotely. I think stay home too long also not good, does wear out a person after some time, not very good mentally and physically. Hope this whole thing gets over quickly and things can get back to normal soon, maybe planes start flying like normal, maybe can go take a short trip, maybe can go back to malls and have a nice meal, maybe can go do some shopping. But I suppose I'm considered very lucky, still have a job, no change to pay or anything, most people not so lucky, like my friend lost his job, then sometimes when I go on site for some duty, I took taxi then every driver told me how bad their day was, after paying rental and fuel most don't even earn and still make a loss. Well, just be happy, stay clean and stay safe.

Almost Two Months

It's been almost two months of staying-home-as-much-as-possible, phew. But actually in other ways it's also a good thing, don't go out, don't spend that much, also don't get sick at all, shows how much bacteria/virus is everywhere. 1st of Jun still don't know whether need to return to office or continue to work from home, I think have to wait for HR to announce. Everyone stay safe!

Circuit Breaker Extend to 01 Jun

https://www.todayonline.com/singapore/circuit-breaker-extended-four-weeks-june-1-pm-lee Wah lao eh, tahan for almost one month now say want to extend, now even tighter controls, go buy thing only one person can go, basically forget about any outdoor family activities. But it's good, one time jia lat jia lat better than more jia lat in the long run, hope this storm blows over soon, but I think even as the numbers come down, I don't think should resume normal activities immediately, still must slowly relax, cannot one shot relax. Businesses jia lat lor, I doubt the measures can help much if no crowd, especially those retail business that rely on crowd, I think by now mostly already close down.

Starhub Modification Fee

Image
Recently recontracted my 1Gbps fibre to 500Mbps, then in my bill I saw this extra S$30 charge: I called Starhub 1633 and they told me recontract also count as modification, so there is a S$30 charge (with GST is S$32.10). Wtf? Anyway just pay la. But expected la, if downsize they need to earn a bit back, if upsize then they give discount, normal.

Contactless Delivery, Such Nonsense

Prior to this covid situation, delivery used to be when the rider arrive, they will make a phone call, knock on door or yell, the purpose is to notify the customer that the order has arrived. Now, they just dump it somewhere you can't see and then quietly left! I encountered two such incidents, one this very morning. Previously ordered some western food from deliveroo, the guy simply left it outside my door, no call, never knock door, never make any sound, just left it there and go, we know because my wife was sitting at living room waiting. After waiting for a long time, I contacted deliveroo, they resent the order, then the next rider found the first delivery outside my door and informed me, ended up I have two orders. This morning ordered breakfast from Mcdonald, left a note telling them to leave it on my doorstep and door is open, supposed to arrive at 11:45am, 12+ still haven't arrive, call them again and they say instead of breakfast, they will resend lunch. Finally

Still Haven't Sign Lease for New HDB Flat

Last year until now still no news on signing lease agreement, log in to HDB portal still no date yet, I think with the stricter covid measures it would probably drag on even further. Hopefully can get the flat soon, maybe before I'm 40 years old would be nice, now already 37 years old haha, how time flies, daughter coming to 5 years old soon.

Seems to be Getting More Serious

https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/record-447-new-coronavirus-cases-in-spore-of-which-404-are-linked-to-dormitories https://www.todayonline.com/singapore/covid-19-728-more-cases-singapore-which-654-are-dorms Looks like the covid situation is getting worse here, from 15 Apr 447 new cases to 16 Apr 728 new cases, just one day 62.86% increase, wow, my annual increment is not even that much. https://www.todayonline.com/singapore/covid-19-nearly-50-people-be-fined-not-wearing-masks-public-places And government is taking this very seriously, they actually started to fine people for not wearing mask, and also fine those who breached safe distancing rules. I think everybody got to take this seriously from now on, it is for everybody's own protection. Tomorrow hope the number of new cases will go down, if still continue to spike, I think until 4 May also not enough, may even need to extend to mid of May or worse, into June. At this kind of time, really good to know SG have th

Find out where to collect using this online service: https://www.maskgowhere.gov.sg/

Ban on Social Gathering

https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/singapore/covid-19-social-gatherings-private-and-public-moh-12617800 Just read this news today, like really read the details, have seen it but didn't notice the impact. Wonder if I can still bring wife and baby for walk, will it break the law? Same household though, I mean stay home all the time also not very healthy, need to still go out for walks, exercise. Anyway tighter controls also good, because looks like recently the spread is getting worse, 200 over cases in one day. Now I go out also a bit scared, wonder who is infected who is not, those who are infected better don't go out at all.

Ghost Town

Today went to Chinatown area to get daily necessities such as shampoo and shower foam, usually we buy at myCK, but surprising it is not open, but good thing the store above it is open, so managed to get the products that we need, pricing is similar to myCK. After that went to Chinatown Complex to see if we can get some food, the shops below all closed, like a ghost town, but if go above, a lot of the food stalls are opened but not many customers, nobody dine there because not allowed so all takeaway. I bought half a duck for S$20, usually I think is S$17-S$19, also bought some chwee kueh, 4 pieces for S$2. This will go on for a month until 4 May, wonder how these stalls survive.

Today Started to Work from Home

With the government announcing a slew of measures last week , my company started the work from home policy today, actually even before government announce, my company already told everyone to start today, previously there was the team A and team B segregation, now is everyone work from home. Actually last week already started for me, I feel that working from home seems to be more productive, as in no need to travel to and fro, that already saved me around 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes. I wake up, brush teeth, immediately can start work, usually I wake up around 7 AM, now I wake up a bit later at 7:30 AM. So today managed to get a lot of things done, and have a lot more time with family, more time for rest, same amount of work or maybe even more was done, I like working from home. If have meeting or need to travel to customer site, then just go and then come back home straight, really good. Anyway this will last until 04 May at least, hope the virus stop spreading. Everyone stay

Amazon Prime (From Starhub)

When I changed my Starhub XS plan to no sim , they gave me a free 3 months Amazon Prime membership. Note that it is for amazon.sg, not for amazon.com, even though my amazon account is same but the region is different, so is the prime membership. So today happened to need to get a new ethernet cable, so might as well make use of the free membership. By the way it is not auto-activated, need to manually activate it. They will send a SMS to your mobile number with this link: http://mystarhub.page.link/AmazonPrime Then on your mobile, you need to have the Starhub app, click the link, it will open up the page to activate it. Or you can also manually go your Starhub app, under the mobile number with the Amazon prime offer, go to Add-ons > Featured Services > Amazon Prime > Manage. Then you have the option to subscribe for the mobile number that you want. After that just login to your amazon.sg account, you will see you now have prime membership, something like this: Hello AB

Suddenly So Much Activity Going On

Yesterday heard my friends saying our prime minister will announce something at 4PM regarding the virus, after that all sorts of speculation started flying around. I wasn't taking much notice because I still have to go to data centre to check some issue, stuck down there until 9PM+. Anyway today went online to see what happened yesterday, wow so much new information, don't know where to start. So I went to gov.sg instead, thought I might get something useful there, indeed found this link that pretty much summarised everything:  https://www.gov.sg/article/covid-19-updates-and-announcements I outlined the following for convenience: Kindergarten closure from 8 April 2020 until 4 May 2020: https://www.ecda.gov.sg/PressReleases/Pages/Advisory-to-Parents-Keeping-Our-Children-Safe-Against-COVID-19-Preschools-to-suspend-general-services.aspx No IPPT, no ICT, until 4 May 2020: https://www.mindef.gov.sg/web/portal/mindef/news-and-events/latest-releases/article-detail/2020/April

Changed My Starhub XS Plan to $25 Sim Only

The contract for my line ended on 31 Mar 2020, I took leave to go Starhub shop to change the line, to my surprise the service staff told me on the last day if want to change, there will be a S$25 termination charge. Alamak, good thing is I have too much leave, so go walk walk with family also not bad, take a break from the never-ending work. Previously my wife's line I also did on the last day of her contract, but maybe Starhub changed their policy, well they did have a clause saying they reserve the right to change their policy at any time. So you guys take note to do whatever you need to do AFTER your contract end, no more last day. I even called Starhub 1633 just to double confirm, the phone support confirmed I can only do after my contract end, otherwise there will be a charge, he also told me I can actually change to no sim plan online. So today I went to Starhub website, did the change, quite straightforward, so easy, like this actually don't even need to go to th

People Buying Full Trolley

Just came back from Sheng Siong, quite surprised to see queues, usually weekdays afternoon not so many people, but today see so many people, some even rushing, wonder what they are rushing for. Then saw quite a number of people buying full trolleys of goods, kitchen towels, toilet paper, canned food, packed fish, got one auntie even bought like 8 packed fish, looks like she is going to have a party tonight. Yesterday even more funny, my army friend posted a message on whatsapp saying his friend's boss do digital marketing for NTUC Fairprice, the friend's boss say government will lock-down SG next week, then tell everyone to go buy necessities. I have no idea how the above even gel together. Anyway better to stick to substantive information, the MOH link below is probably a better choice than information coming from "xyz's friend's boss", well unless the boss is the health minister or prime minister then different story. https://www.moh.gov.sg/covid-1

Hoarding Hand Sanitisers

https://www.todayonline.com/world/he-has-17700-bottles-hand-sanitiser-and-nowhere-sell-them https://www.todayonline.com/world/man-17700-bottles-hand-sanitizer-just-donated-them There was a period when my wife can't find any hand sanitiser, I wonder if people in SG also did the same thing, bought out the stores and then try to resell it for profit, but now my wife say the stores restocked already, most shops selling but those cheaper brands sometimes sold out, but those more expensive brand still have stock. Kind of disappointing that people would actually try to profit off this kind of thing in this time of need, I think SG still not so bad because we don't run the risk of running out of stock of anything or at least not that I can see so far, yeah there was one or two days where toilet paper and such were really cleaned of the shelves but it was quickly restocked the very next day. Then again I really don't think hand sanitisers are really that big of a deal in stop

Strange Virus

https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/singapore/covid19-coronavirus-mar-7-cases-12512420 I read the article and feel puzzled, not just this, I read a few earlier ones about how people in SG got infected, I also puzzled. See of the 8 new cases, 6 didn't travel, 2 are imported, then of the 6, 1 mostly stayed at home also can get the virus, or maybe she walked past somebody with the virus who sneezed, or touched something, that means more people have but never report? I wonder how many actually report, how about those who kena, recovered, they probably don't even know their symptoms is actually from coronavirus, thought it's just the common flu because both symptoms are the same. Best is still avoid crowded places, seems like it's the best place for the virus or any virus to spread, keep hands clean where possible, drink more water etc.

JBL Tune 500BT Arrived!

Ordered the headphone last week through Amazon and got it today, finally can get rid of my wired headphone. My new headphone is really nice, I put it on and my surrounding noise sound less impactful, I think maybe this is what they mean by noise cancelling. The audio is also good, volume can go very high, at 34 I think it's quite loud already. But one thing I notice is when playing there is a tiny bit of lag, not that super noticeable but maybe I'm a bit more sensitive. The keys on the headphone is also very handy, one to increase volume, on to decrease and one to stop or play, it actually works with youtube so I can pause videos from a distance lol. Very good buy for S$70 I say, also next time just take the Amazon SGD price, pay by USD seems to end up a bit more.

I Wonder How Retail Shops Survive

Last weekend suddenly thought of getting a wireless headphone so that I don't disturb wife and baby, these days they sleep early because baby have to wake up early for school. So went into Challenger to casual browse, saw this JBL Tune 500BT headphone, looks very nice and surprisingly not few hundred dollars, usually branded wireless headphone S$300-S$400 or more also have, review also seems pretty good, selling for S$89.90 for non-member price, I don't have their membership by the way. Almost wanted to buy but when I did a quick check on Amazon, it was 39.95 USD, around S$67.XX after delivery charge, wow around S$20 difference. In the end never buy from Challenger, thought of going home then order online. So today bought at Amazon, including expedited delivery is S$69.49, think next week will receive. I also went to Lazada, some even selling for S$55.00 but ships from overseas, most probably is used, some is S$69, I guess those is they resell from Amazon, then some is S$

Dorscon Orange

https://www.moh.gov.sg/news-highlights/details/risk-assessment-raised-to-dorscon-orange Yesterday company suddenly called for meeting, I busy so halfway run road already, end up it is to split our team into groups, like a buddy system, one work from home, one work at office, I think the objective is if office get hit with the virus, those at home still safe and can continue work. Heard from co-worker people buying out things at supermarket to stock up, don't know real or not, seriously really need meh haha, anyway I think it's safer for family to just stay in and not go out during this period, but work and school cannot avoid la.

Tried NETS Click on Comfort Taxi App

Finally Comfort provide this convenient payment service, just need to setup on the app which is pretty straightforward to do, and then set it as the default payment type. So how it works is you book the taxi as per normal on the app, since NETS Click is the default payment so don't need to do anything else. After the trip, just stylishly alight like how you alight from any grab taxi and the service will auto-deduct directly from your bank account. Note that even though the setup is to the card which may be a credit card (mine is a credit card), it actually is a direct debit service. Oh by the way, happy lunar new year!

Super Busy Recently

Now rushing to finish a project, everything feels compressed, so not much time or energy to post, plus baby start school this year so feels like so many stuff going on. Anyway this year bonus is alright, 1.5 months, pretty standard I guess, increment is unexpectedly good though, 8.48%, way better than last job. Out of nowhere also have a retention bonus which according to my boss is only given to a handful of people, which means if I stay on, mid of this year will get this special bonus, next year will also get it. To be honest I was thinking of leaving after getting bonus but the package seems pretty good to miss so I think I am staying for a while more, I'm glad that that this company knows how to recognise and reward people who put in effort unlike my previous company where the reward didn't justify my responsibilities. So there is a lesson here, if you want people to work hard for you, please be sure to treat them well, even in times of crisis, these people will go al

First Day of K1

Today baby started her first day of school in K1, she seems to like it, never cry or anything, in fact she quite hurriedly went into the school so she can start the lesson. I think it is a good thing that she embraces education, hope she can keep this eagerness all the way to university and beyond. Since yesterday is the start of the strict enforcement of e-scooter, today we took bus instead, it's not that bad actually, just have to wake up earlier and get to the bus stop on time. Oh by the way, my daughter is morning session only, 8am to 12pm, no lunch but there is breakfast, saw the teacher giving out some bread, so actually no need to prepare breakfast for her.

Happy 2020!

It's the start of a new year again, hope that this year will be a good year, get a good increment, good bonus and also at work everything will be smooth, but most importantly is everyone stay fit stay healthy. Oh tomorrow baby start her K1, she seems to be aware of it and looking forward, I guess that is a good thing. I took leave tomorrow just to accompany her for the first day and also make sure wife knows how to get there. Cannot use e-scooter so changed to take bus, na beh speaking of e-scooter suddenly blood a bit boiling, thanks LTA for banning, great job. Anyway, Happy New Year!
