Opened Crypto.com Mobile App Account

Recently I was thinking of how to put my spare cash to use, having built up over several months after selling all my stocks back in May 2021, at a total loss of -S$17,538.45, and this is after deducting all the dividends. Looking back, I started buying stocks in Nov 2012, so from then until May 2021 is about 8 years and 7 months, it's like paying S$170+ per month for lessons... Oh well, moving on. While looking at what other investment I can try, I took a look at crypto, seems pretty flexible, found this youtube video from this "Kelvin Learns Investing" guy and got started from there (guy has humour haha). If you need a referral code to sign up, you can check out his video description. If you want my referral code, you can use this link to sign up , it's also super easy to google for a referral code online, plenty of people sharing their referral code. You can read more about this promo at the crypto.com official site . The catch is the person getting referred needs

Went for Third Dose of Covid-19 Vaccine

https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2021/07/second-dose-hits-hard.html Today I went for my 3rd dose, kind of crowded today but queue moved quickly, 9:30 AM appointment, completed jab at around 9:44 AM, around 9:55+ AM completed the monitoring period and left. 1 hour after the jab, arm have a very slight swollen feeling, after I reached home I immediately took 2 panadol. Hopefully this time round not as bad as the 2nd dose, worst case tomorrow just take leave.

Scamshield App Doesn't Work as Expected

https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2021/11/getting-so-many-scam-call-and-sms.html After installing and setting up for myself and my wife, we are still getting scam calls, whatsapp and sms, I think there really is no way to 100% block all these nonsense. Most rampant is the MOH calls, the number is different every time, I wonder if the app will eventually block some genuine numbers.

Thought My JBL TUNE 700BT Spoil

https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2020/10/bought-jbl-tune-700bt-s119.html https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2021/09/finally-found-cause-to-my-network-auto.html https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2021/10/just-bought-new-computer.html So yesterday I cleaned my new PC, and since I switched back to using LAN cable, I not using the WIFI anymore (LAN still the best, WIFI speed is just not as good and stable, I bought a Vention Cat 8 Ethernet Cable for S$14.98 at Lazada), so I removed the antennas from my PC. After cleaning I turned on my headphone and the signal keep getting lost, at first thought it's a hardware failure, so I went and ordered a new headphone EDIFIER W830BT for S$90.56. Then today I brought my office headphone home and it had the same problem, then I googled and found that the motherboard antennas are actually also for Bluetooth, alamak, so I put it back and immediately problem solved, really facepalm. Anyway have two headphones at home also

Wife Left Money Inside ATM

Yesterday night we went to buy groceries, wife and baby went into Sheng Siong then I went to smoke. After not even 5 minutes, suddenly my wife called out to me and told me she forgot to take the money after she withdraw, asked her how much and she said S$200. I asked her anyone behind her or not but she cannot remember. So I immediately used my phone to call the POSB hotline, there's a number on the ATM, anyway I also saved that number earlier on, 1800 339 6666. It took quite a while to finally have someone talk to us, so I told the story, the service staff told me there are two scenarios, one is if nobody take the money, the ATM will take back the money, and credit back to account (didn't mention how long or when), two is if someone take the money, they will check the CCTV and then it will be a police case, but the latter is rare. Either way, she will need to raise a request for her team to investigate, then she ask me to pass the phone to my wife because she is the account ho

Getting So Many Scam Call and SMS

The scammers really trying very hard, I think because it is lucrative, all they need is get a dumbass who responds, don't be surprised though, there are still many dumb people hence they supply the market, supply and demand, if there are dumbasses, then there will be scammers. So many pattern, from quick loan to betting to job offer, even impersonating MOH, MOM and SPF. Today got really fed up and downloaded the Scamshield app for myself and my wife, she also getting lots of all these nonsense calls and SMS, I told her as long as it's an unknown number or some moron claiming to be from MOH, just ignore. But then even if there are dumbasses, doesn't mean it should be easy to execute a scam, the problem is where ever these scammers are operating from, that country is corrupted and does not enforce strict regulation on their telco and ISP providers, that's why it is so easy for these scammers to make these scam calls and SMS. Which country? India, China, but they are prob

Ordered Baby's P1 Textbooks

Image
The online ordering opened last weekend, so I went online to order the books. In total plus the delivery is S$184.80. Total have 52 items, I wonder if all these stuff will last throughout the year or only first half of the year. By the way the number in the bracket means quantity.

Bought Logitech G915 TKL Keyboard (White)

Image
Have been following the keyboard on Lazada at around S$260+, been reading some really good reviews on it. Then on Monday I saw the keyboard going on offer at $$240.49 at the 11.11 sale, price is inclusive of delivery, so can't resist and quickly ordered one. It also goes well with my white  G304 and white NR200P computer casing, only my monitor is black though, hmm maybe should have also bought a white monitor instead but well, I'm still happy with my AOC monitor even though it is not white. Feels really premium, I think need some time to get used to it, but the feel is really great and it is not noisy, just like a normal keyboard, mine is the GL Tactile keycaps. And the Logitech G Hub is really cool, can control both my G304 mouse and this keyboard, can adjust the lighting too, shows battery too, fantastic. Should have bought this keyboard long ago, one keyboard to rule them all.

Received Letter from Baby's Primary School

Received a letter from the primary school with a whole bunch of things to prepare but I think I pretty much submitted whatever I can submit on Monday and put everything in calendar so I don't miss out anything. I have the list below if you are interested. Download Parents Gateway mobile app - after login via SingPass, it will auto-retrieve your child info. Purchase of textbooks and school uniform - both order online, for textbooks there will be a list of what to buy, for uniform just get ready a measuring tape. Both textbooks and uniform total is around S$300 for my daughter, not inclusive of the white shoes though, I think have to buy separately. School bus service - just register interest online, I suppose the bus operator will contact me later. 2-way is S$93 a month for my daughter. Student care centre - this is for needy families, can apply if need to. P1 orientation - it's a zoom session, so just wait for the day to come and login. Submit pupil data - it's an online fo

Bought Microsoft Office 2019 Professional Plus Retail Key Online

https://www.allkeyshop.com/blog/buy-microsoft-office-2019-professional-plus-cd-key-compare-prices By the way there are two types, one is phone activation and the other is online activation. Finally bought it at Royal CD Keys , bought the retail version with online activation, activate, download and install in less than 10 minutes. Bought it for 7.50 EUR which is about S$11.74. Update: Final charge S$12.19.

Undervolting CPU and GPU

Image
I read some good things about undervolting CPU and GPU, seems able to get more or less same performance but using less power and in doing so reduce temperatures, so I decided to try it out and got some nice results. Tools required for undervolting CPU ThrottleStop: https://www.techpowerup.com/download/techpowerup-throttlestop Intel XTU: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/17881/intel-extreme-tuning-utility-intel-xtu.html Using the Intel XTU to run stress test, before undervolt it was 90 degree. After undervolt, it dropped to 80 degree. So this worked nicely. Tools required for undervolting GPU MSI Afterburner:  https://www.msi.com/Landing/afterburner/graphics-cards Heaven Benchmark:  https://benchmark.unigine.com/heaven Using the Heaven Benchmark to run benchmarking, before undervolt, Afterburner was showing 1800MHz and 80 degree near the end of the benchmark. After undervolt, it maintain around 1845MHz and at most 78 degree but usually hover around 74-76. Well at least it

Bought Windows 10 Professional Retail Key Online

I finished assembling and setting up my new PC and also setup my Hades Canyon for my daughter (also clean and repaste), totally forgot about the operating system for the new PC. So I went online to search for cheap keys, found this site:  https://www.allkeyshop.com/blog/buy-windows-10-professional-cd-key-compare-prices Finally ended up buying at  Royal CD Keys for 2.67 EUR which is about 4.18 SGD. If you are wondering what's the difference between OEM or retail key, the main difference is there's no support from Microsoft for OEM keys, whereas retail you can call Microsoft for support, but then again how often does one actually call Microsoft, Windows 10 is very stable and easy to install. Other than that, OEM key are selling slightly cheaper, if the above doesn't mean anything to you, then just go for OEM key, no point paying that extra if you are never going to need support. Ultimately, no point paying a few hundred dollars for an operating system especially for home PC,

Just Bought a New Computer

Image
Recently was looking for a new PC to replace my Hades Canyon which I bought in 2018 . I compared quite a few places like Aftershock, Mansa, Dreamcore, Lenovo, Dell, and finally decided to buy at Sim Lim Square because it is cheaper and no need to wait for months, also to clarify, the local ones no need to wait too long, only those big brands have months of waiting time due to part shortage. So these are the parts: INTEL I7-11700K S$559 (wanted 11700 but no stock) MSI H510I PRO WIFI S$235 (H7 Plus cpu cooler won't be able to fit in, blocked by the IO heatsink) T-FORCE VULCAN 3200MHZ 2x16GB CL16 S$210 SAMSUNG 980 500GB NVME M.2 S$112 GALAX RTX3060Ti (1-CLICK OC) 8GB (LHR) 8GB S$899 COOLERMASTER NR200P WHITE S$139 (wanted the NR200 but no stock) LIAN-LI SP750 SFX 80+GOLD S$159 CRYORIG H7 S$60 (wanted the H7 Plus but heng no stock) SICKLEFLOW 120 WHITE LED PWM S$15 (wanted 3 but I didn't say 3 so they ended up packing only one, heng because the NR200P comes with 2x120mm fans, but n

Bought CoaguChek INRange Meter for Wife

Image
https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2015/08/bought-coaguchek-xs-meter-for-wife.html I bought the old model CoaguChek XS in 2015 for S$1070, and it finally gave way, checked with manufacturer and they say it is not repairable, so no choice but to buy a new one. This device has served us well for 6 years, saved us a lot of time, energy and money. Now they have a new model CoaguChek INRange which uses the same test strips and this model is cheaper at S$787.50. I managed to buy it at NUH Heart Clinic @ Level 3, if you need, you can walk in and buy the meter and the test strips together, no need prescription. It is also available at National Heart Centre. CoaguChek INRange Meter

Panasonic Retrenchment

https://www.channelnewsasia.com/singapore/panasonic-employees-retrenched-refrigeration-compressor-manufacturing-2197001 I think cost of worker in Singapore is too expensive, that's why Panasonic go elsewhere, I think in future these production line jobs more and more difficult to have in Singapore. But then it's also weird that production goes to other countries, but other countries their skilled workers come to Singapore, then their skilled workers compete with our skilled workers, our low-skilled workers no job, maybe I think too much but I certainly hope this is not the case. Also I notice these days youngsters the salary damn high, fresh grad I heard get S$5000, haha I don't know work how long then get that salary, times are different now.

Received S$100 Grocery Vouchers

https://www.mof.gov.sg/news-publications/press-releases/160-000-singaporeans-to-receive-grocery-vouchers-in-october-2021 Now they give door-to-door, like this also better, so that idiots cannot go steal other people's vouchers, this is as good as S$100 cash because you can use it at places like Fairprice or Sheng Siong and other major supermarkets. I think people in Singapore quite fortunate, in these difficult times at least the government will extend help, not a lot but better than nothing. I heard from my wife in Thailand this is unheard of. Anyway stay safe everyone, most important is health.

Got a Huge Increment Out of Nowhere

So last month I throw letter, then last week boss called me in to talk, then today boss told me HR will send me a letter regarding my salary increment, and today HR really send, I can see this boss really have a lot of clout in the company, he can make things happen, definitely not the talk-only type, so fast so furious. Last week he told me around 20-25% increment, this week immediately increase by 23%, really speechless and surprised, never encounter something like this before, but I really appreciate that they recognise the effort I put in, it's not easy to find a company which knows how to appreciate staff, oh man, want to run also not so easy now... hopefully the company will go in exciting directions, if new things to learn then can stay long. Still find it unbelievable, like seriously wtf.

Logitech G304 (White) Arrived!

Image
https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2021/09/ordered-another-logitech-g304-white.html It arrived yesterday, comes with a free mouse pad too. The feel is a bit different than the black colour one, I think the material is a bit different, seems to give better grip but generally both my black and this white one is amazing, probably one of the best mouse ever made. It's got a really nice white colour, really love this mouse, very difficult to find a replacement I guess.

Finally Found the Cause to My Network Auto Disconnect

Image
https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2021/02/bought-ugreen-usb-30-to-rj45-gigabit.html https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2021/03/network-didnt-disconnect-any-more.html I notice my network card sometimes auto switch between 100Mbps and 1.0Gbps, every time it does that, the network will be disconnected and then connected. This is happening regardless of using the UGREEN adapter or the built-in network card. Then I realise it could be an issue with the ethernet cable, too long or maybe it's dangling and affecting the quality or cables are just shit quality? Really no idea why. Last time I used a 20m CAT6 , then changed to a 15m CAT7 , I'm just guessing it's too long, it's running from my main door to my room so it's quite a distance. Good thing my Hades Canyon comes with Wifi, I just moved my router more centrally and now I'm using Wifi, seems to be more stable but of course not going to be as fast as 1Gbps, most importantly it doesn't switch a

Ordered Another Logitech G304 (White)

Image
https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2018/11/bought-new-mouse-g304-and-keyboard-akb55.html https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2018/11/logitech-g304-and-targus-akb55-update.html Looking for something to replace my G603 because I find it kind of heavy, it's still good though but sometimes the scrolling a bit siao siao, it's like that and that and I decided use that as an excuse to just buy a new mouse, or you can call it buying on a whim haha. So I was trying to decide between G304 which is amazing, I'm still using it, tested and proven, or the Razer Orochi V2 which is newer and have really solid reviews. Price-wise the G304 is S$79.00 and the Orochi V2 is S$104.90. Then I found that the G304 is selling at S$55 on Lazada, like that no need to think already, that means for the price of Orochi V2 I can buy two G304. If you are interested, this is the link .

Oh Crap, 27 Sep Tighten Again

Not Sure If This is a Counteroffer...

https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2021/09/finally-throw-letter.html Last week I submitted my resignation, the standard things happened, my supervisor talked to me to find out more about my reasons for leaving, after some discussion I was sure about leaving even though I told him I didn't have a job waiting because I wanted to take a 1-2 months break, I wasn't hesitant or anything, then he told me big boss wanted to speak to me, yeah why not, big boss willing to take the time to speak to a staff is always a good thing. So today big boss called me in, had a lengthy chat, like really lengthy that he pretty much talked for 2-3 hours nonstop explaining many whys that I didn't really raise officially but deep inside was unhappy about, I don't think he can read my mind, most likely he already knows these problems, and he shared that there are plans in motion to change things, which is a good sign. Seriously, if the big boss doesn't realise and acknowledge the pro

Finally Throw Letter

After several bouts of procrastination, today I finally ride on a trigger to throw the letter. It was nothing negative or what, not an outburst or anything, just making use of a chance to throw the letter, have to be pissed off but not too pissed off, have to be careful not to ruin any relationship, throw letter also need technique and timing haha. Somehow I feel really relieved for doing so, it's like getting rid of a huge rock off my chest, bet I can finally sleep well tonight, I mean can you imagine after work or during weekends or public holidays you still have work stuff buzzing in your head, it's crazy. And of course I didn't get a job before I throw, I only had 5 days of rest from my last job to current job, so getting a job first is definitely not in my plan, was thinking of catching a 1-2 months break to refresh myself before I start looking for a job. Also I can bring my daughter to school everyday, sometimes I just feel kind of guilty like I get lost at work, com

P1 Registration is Complete Nonsense

https://www.todayonline.com/singapore/Pri-1-registration-spots-for-pupils-living-near-school-but-have-no-prior-links https://www.todayonline.com/big-read/big-read-not-faint-hearted-parents-jump-through-hoops-go-great-guns-secure-pri-1-spots They turn primary education into a competition to get into the best school, no wonder the "every man for himself" mentality is so prevalent in Singapore. Then you have these kiasu parents partaking in this nonsense, so are they going to tell their children they volunteered at the school just to get a place, for basic education? Or they are going to tell their children because they are part of whatsoever church or clan or they are staff member of the school so they get special privilege over other Singaporean children? And are they going to educate their child on fairness too? Is that hypocrisy or what? I can only imagine what kind of adults their children will grow up to be. Then they say every school is a good school, and yet they enable

Finally Got Up and Go Run

These few weeks I have been using the heightened alert as an excuse to not go for exercise, keep telling myself to stay safe and stay home, end up building up a lot of negative energy, I tell you a person cannot just hide at home and do nothing other than going to work or to buy groceries. But actually can also work out at home but well, once you get lazy it doesn't matter where, you'll just cook up excuses when you feel like it. So today I finally forced myself to go out for a run, managed to run about 2.5 rounds of the track which is about 1KM and walk to complete 3 rounds, not bad, I thought after several weeks of rotting at home I won't make 2 rounds. Staying active is a must, it helps to get rid of negative energy and build up positive energy, this is very true because when I was in my 20s, I used to workout very regularly like 3-5 times a week or even daily was normal to me, I think that time even busier than now because I was doing part-time studies holding a full-ti

M1 500Mbps Fibre Broadband Plan @ S$29.90

Yesterday my M1 broadband plan contract ended, so today I called up their customer service to check if the price of S$29.90 will remain the same, the service staff said it will follow the existing 500Mbps plan of S$29.90 which means for me it will remain the same. The staff mentioned that other than the S$29.90, there will be a monthly charge of S$8.00 for the SurfValue Plan, it is a mobile broadband SIM card that came with the fibre broadband. So I asked to cancel it and the staff mentioned it will take effect within 2 hours and reflect in next month's bill. By the way this M1 fibre broadband is actually for my parents, it is installed at their house, if can keep as no contract better because in 2023 we will probably move to Tengah.

Fake KFC Website Lol

Fake KFC website:  https://kentykyasiachicken.com So easy to copy the user interface, so easy to create a free SSL cert, it's using Let's Encrypt which is free. This is the real site:  https://www.kfc.com.sg Be careful haha.

KTV Covid Cluster

https://www.todayonline.com/singapore/ktv-covid-19-cluster-grows-148-cases-likely-ongoing-spread-6-more-ktv-lounges-moh Wah seh, shit suddenly got serious, I think better stay home as much as possible, you never know who visited those places but keep quiet, I don't think they will enforce the use of TraceTogether app or token, in the first place they are probably not operating legally. https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/singapore/covid-19-ica-familial-ties-lane-boyfriend-girlfriend-ktv-cluster-15233666 And this Vietnamese girl, her Singaporean boyfriend sponsored her entry into Singapore, and then she go hopping around the various KTVs, I don't want to guess what she was doing but it's just outright obvious, I wonder if her boyfriend knows about it, really spoil market for all the genuine SG/Foreigner couples, now public have even worse impression of such couples, sigh.

Second Dose Hits Hard

https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2021/07/went-for-second-dose-of-covid-19-vaccine.html The whole day after getting the second dose was ok, it was during the night when things started to get real uncomfortable, and just happens that it was raining and I still left the air-con on so it was freezing. Then I can't sleep the whole night, just turning left and right but can't turn to my right side as I had the shot on my right arm. End up today took leave to rest at home, can barely get out of the bed, whole body ache, feel giddy, then slept until around 12pm. Good thing now feeling much better already, had some hot food, drink water, took Panadol but I try not to take too much, just follow the instruction and take 2 every 6 hours, it is mentioned on the vaccination card. Hopefully tomorrow can go back to work.

Primary 1 (P1) Registration for Baby

Glad that the P1 registration is fully online, now that we are in the 4IR era, manual processes should be digitalised and automated as much as possible. Looking at the MOE website , I thought the number of phases is too much and how students are segregated based on "fulfil at least one of the requirements for that phase" is kind of ridiculous. This part "registration phases apply to children who are Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents" also baffles me. I would think that Singaporean children should have utmost priority, but apparently that's not the case. The following is extracted from the website: Phase 1 You have an older child who is currently studying at your preferred school. Phase 2A(1) You are a former student of your preferred school, and have joined as a member of the alumni association not later than 30 June 2020. You are a member of the Advisory or Management Committee of your preferred school. Phase 2A(2) You or another child of yours have p

Went for Second Dose of Covid-19 Vaccine

https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2021/06/went-for-first-dose-of-covid-19-vaccine.html https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2021/06/3rd-day-after-1st-dose-of-moderna.html My second dose was scheduled on 25 Jul 2021, but I saw the MOH SMS saying I can bring forward, so I changed to today and went for it. Same as first dose, the process was very fast and smooth, and I noticed more people coming for the vaccination, but the crowd doesn't affect the process, seems like this Fullerton Health knows what they are doing and they are managing it very well. This time they also gave freebies, a box of mask and a bottle of sanitiser. Also gave a vaccination card same like the first time, but actually this vaccination information can be found on HealthHub too so don't really need to carry it around. They also gave a sticker saying "I AM VACCINATED AGAINST COVID-19", but I don't think it's supposed to prove anything other than just gimmicky. After the jab,

Bought iPad (8th generation - 32 GB - A2270 - Silver) for Wife

Image
The price on apple's website is S$499.00 but I bought it at Courts for S$488. The salesperson signed me up for the Courts membership which is free, and instantly applied an S$11 discount. It also just happened to be the last piece, and only left silver colour, geez this iPad 8th Gen so popular or what. Actually last weekend I went to Challenger to buy but out of stock, so I guess it's really popular. I also bought a casing from them for S$49, somehow they also included a 3-piece "SoundTeoh KA3-2 Key Plug" for S$1 which I didn't need but I think good to have; the iPad itself comes with a 3-pin plug and a usb-c to lightning cable so don't really need the key plug. Unfortunately they don't sell screen protector for the iPad, but fortunately just right beside their store have a good ol' trusty handphone shop. So I bought the iPad's screen protector + replace my own iPhone 8's casing + replace my own iPhone 8's screen protector for a total of S$

Switched to Giga Today

I received the SIM cards for myself and my wife today, one guy sent it to our home in the morning, just put it into our phones and activate using the Giga app, no hassle. So I expect to be able to save S$22 a month by switching, previously me and my wife's bill total is S$50. Thinking of getting a S$10 plan for daughter but I think she is too young to hold a mobile phone. These days so many choices for mobile plans, life getting better.

Just Know About Giga Today

Image
Today my colleague told me about this mobile operator named "Giga", he also told me it's actually under Starhub, then I took a look at their plans, first thing coming to my mind is bloody hell kena conned or what, or maybe I'm just super outdated. Anyway I have two sim only lines under Starhub, S$25 each so total S$50 a month. The data is 5GB + 10GB (for 12 months) with 100 minutes outgoing and 100 SMS. Strangely already more than 12 months but they still give me the extra 10GB but I guess it is because they know I'm paying more! So I signed up via the Giga app for the S$10 plan for myself, and a S$18 plan for my wife. I don't use much data so 6GB is way more than enough for me. But still find this quite unbelievable, how come they are running Starhub mobile plans and this Giga plans in parallel, just kind of don't make sense because who would pay more for way less features, those on sim only plans like me or those contract finish or going to finish surel

Lol BTS Meal

Image
https://www.todayonline.com/8days/eatanddrink/newsandopening/mcdonalds-bts-meal-sells-out-5-mins-some-received-bts-logo-less For S$8.90, you get these: 9-piece Chicken McNuggets® - BTS-branded packaging Two new limited-time sauces (Sweet Chili and Cajun) Large Fries Large Coke® Original Taste Less Sugar - BTS-branded packaging So it's the same old 9-piece nuggets meal with a different packaging and sauces. Maybe because I'm not a BTS fan so the differences are totally negligible to me... I wonder what people are going to do to the packaging after they finish the food...

3rd Day After 1st Dose of Moderna

https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2021/06/went-for-first-dose-of-covid-19-vaccine.html Fortunately the only side effect I experience is swelling on the injection site, which is my left arm, first two days can feel the swelling, 3rd day forgotten about it already, now I touch can still feel a tiny bit of sore but if don't touch can't really feel it so I think tomorrow morning wake up should be totally gone. I have a colleague in office who went for his first dose, not sure if he had Moderna but he had a fever the next day, he kind of foresee it so he took leave in advance. I think the side effect really depends on the individual, some people may react well to it, some maybe not so well, but in general just relax and don't think too much, rest if need to, take leave if really cannot tahan, don't try to endure. Anyway not sure what will happen next, so after everybody gets vaccinated then what, can we resume to normal travel? Thinking of going to Thailand, long t

Bought VANKYO C751 Headphone

https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2020/03/jbl-tune-500bt-arrived_7.html My JBL TUNE 500BT headphone spoil already after about one year of use. Problem is after power on, if shake a bit it will auto power off. The sound also a bit weird during online meeting, it will suddenly produce weird sounds, very disruptive. So I ordered the VANKYO C751 last Thursday and received it today, only 4 days. I paid S$73.36 which includes priority shipping. The new headphone feels solid, it covers my ears fully. Sound quality is good too. Only thing is Windows 10 doesn't show the battery indicator, but I guess this is Windows 10 problem. Now let's see how long this last. Update: The battery indicator in Windows 10 suddenly showed up, haha weird but it works. After a few days of use, find that the headphone feels much heavier, maybe need some getting used to.

Went for First Dose of Covid-19 Vaccine

Image
https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2021/06/received-sms-from-moh-for-covid-19.html So today went to the vaccination centre for my first dose, it's actually at a community centre. The vaccination centre is managed by Fullerton Health. My appointment was 9 AM, I reached there at around 8:20+, they let me proceed anyway. I must say they are very well organised, from entry to exit all very well executed. The whole process for me took around 45 minutes or less, which includes the 30 minutes observation time after the jab. I don't even need to know what to do, it's like a guided tour from start to finish. Just make sure you bring along your ID card and the TraceTogether Token or App. They will also ask for your SMS from MOH, just show it to them when requested. The jab itself is like any other jab that is not BCG, nothing special, less than 5 seconds settled, like a tiny pinch with fingernails, nothing to worry. I took two Panadol after I reached home even though I didn&

Received SMS from MOH for Covid-19 Vaccination

This morning I saw the SMS from MOH to inform that I can book appointment for vaccination. In the SMS there is a link to book the appointment. I followed the link and instructions, very straightforward. Have to book two appointments for two doses, so I booked this Sunday and the last Sunday of July. Wondering why my wife didn't receive any SMS, I think maybe because she didn't register interest, so just now I registered for her and baby, but I think there is no vaccine for 6 year old yet, but no harm registering anyway I guess.

Give Wrong Vaccine

https://www.todayonline.com/singapore/boy-16-remains-well-after-being-taking-moderna-vaccine-meant-for-18-and-above-thorough-review-done-moh Actually giving wrong vaccine is not uncommon in Singapore nor around the world, it also happened in our national immunisation programme too. In case you don't know what that is, see the link below. https://www.nir.hpb.gov.sg/nirp/eservices/immunisationSchedule Usually I heard kids accidentally getting extra dose, but always end up ok, the vaccines are actually very safe to use, I suppose extra dose means extra protection as long as it doesn't cause any adverse reaction. Anyway if the first dose is ok, subsequent dose should be ok too. For this particular case, it's not extra dose, it's still Covid-19 vaccination just that it's by a different manufacturer approved by US FDA. Safe or not safe for people below 18 years old nobody knows because their clinical trials are based on people 18 years or older. But like I mentioned, as l

Doesn't Seem to be Getting Better

https://sg.news.yahoo.com/singapore-detects-26-new-covid-19-cases-3-unlinked-081534535.html In general feels like more or less the same, still have lingering cases out there waiting to be discovered. I notice less people going out but more cyclists, I wonder if cycling will somehow catch the virus or not, I mean they are not wearing mask when cycling, or maybe unless some infected person sneeze or cough and then they happen to cycle through. Anyway still safer to stay home, but weather getting hot these days, gets sweaty fast but good thing there is always the air-con, no wonder I see so many people go to Sheng Siong to walk, but many weirdos these days, knowing the virus is spreading but still stand so close together, also stay away from weirdos to be safe.

Hougang HDB Covid Cluster

https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/singapore/mandatory-covid-19-testing-begins-for-residents-at-hougang-hdb-14854788 Wah siao liao, shit is getting REAL serious now, I think sooner or later other residential areas also kena. Better stay at home as much as possible. I asked my wife to stop bringing daughter to kindergarten already, now dangerous period better avoid contact with others.

18 Unlinked Covid Cases on 16 May 2021

https://www.moh.gov.sg/news-highlights/details/38-new-cases-of-locally-transmitted-covid-19-infection16may The unlinked cases seems to be getting higher, this is getting to be seriously worrying. An unlinked case means they cannot trace back to the person who spread it to the unlinked case. The person who spread to the unlinked case may not even know he/she is infectious i.e. asymptomatic case. It can be even worse if these people who have the virus goes on to spread to family, friends, co-workers, so good thing the government realise this and put a stop to this by heightening the measures, otherwise game over, we become the next India. I think to be safe, everybody should just stay home where possible, can work from home just work from home, can school from home also school from home, now dangerous thing is we don't know how widespread, especially when today is the day of heightened measure we still have morons refusing to wear mask or continue to gather in groups of more than 2,

Ordered a 钓鱼英雄 Toy for Baby

Image
She saw this toy at a shop and took a photo, managed to find the exact one at Lazada, it's shipping from Taobao China, so probably going to take a while to receive. Total price is S$$20.39 including the delivery fee. My wife say the same toy is selling for S$30++ in Singapore, quite a difference if buy online. This is the link if you are interested:  https://www.lazada.sg/products/i1655986242-s7817824432.html

"Very Virulent" Variant of COVID-19 is Here? Now Then You Know

https://sg.news.yahoo.com/virulent-mutant-virus-changi-airport-defences-ong-ye-kung-062454364.html https://www.tnp.sg/news/singapore/p1-pupil-yio-chu-kang-school-tests-positive-covid Seems like getting worse, unlinked cases going up, and now government announced a phase 1 kind of alert, meaning default is work from home now, cannot eat out and etc, starting from 16 May to 13 Jun, but I don't quite understand why, because if they know it is serious enough to rollback, why not start immediately, I mean it already spread to mainstream schools, why give it chance to go further. I find that our government react too slowly, not decisive enough, wait too long to take action, when India started to have that massive outbreak in early April, we should have barred travelers from India immediately, see now getting worse, typical civil servants, you see me I see you wait for miracle to happen, try to solve one problem end up creating another problem, now going back to lockdown. Fed up.

Paramjeet Kaur - Sovereign Not a Person?

Image
https://sg.news.yahoo.com/jailed-sovereign-woman-breached-covid-19-regulations-101208206.html She then argues with a person off-screen, claiming, "I am a sovereign. This is something people are not going to know even what it is…It means I have nothing to do with the police…They have no say." A voice can be heard saying, "That does not even make any sense. If you are a person in Singapore, you have to follow the rules in Singapore." Kaur then replied, "I'm not a person." If she is not a person, then how come the news article still refer her as "woman", should be "it" right? So since she say she is not a person, so from here on I will refer her as "it" then. So "it" is a Singaporean, how did "it" get our citizenship since "it" is not a person? Let me see, "it" wants to enjoy the benefits of Singapore, but "it" don't want to follow our laws, and "its" argument is

SPH Suddenly So Jia Lat

https://mothership.sg/2021/05/sph-ceo-apologises Last time their share price from S$3-S$4 now become S$1.52 as of 7th May 2021, that time thinking of buying but end up didn't buy, forgot why I didn't buy, but I notice their online straitstimes.com kind of desperate, asking for subscription fees when I can find the same news everywhere else. I ended up buying SingPost which is not any better, similar to SPH it also tank like shit, last Friday I finally sold off at S$0.73, made quite a loss (-S$17,583.31). Held on since 2017, thought it would improve, who knows it just keeps getting worse, recent financial announcement is bad, real bad, dividend shrink too, well at least I support for 4 years already. I remember one nice guy asked me to cut loss but I didn't, oh well. Singtel and StarHub also chui now, last time played a bit, earned a little by buying and selling fast. But whatever earnings I had all give back through SingPost already hahaha. SPH, SingPost, Singtel and Starhu

Singapore Passport Change to 10 Years

https://www.todayonline.com/singapore/singapore-passport-validity-increase-10-years-applications-october Nice, somehow every 5 years feel like I got older, but then every 10 years probably will feel even worse, anyway the point is it will be less troublesome, no need to renew every 5 years. It will start from 1st Oct 2021, so if you want to renew passport, might as well wait after that, anyway most people will probably not be going anywhere this year, if you do have to go out of Singapore, then it will be at your own risk so make your own assessment carefully, think again, and again. And the application fee is the same, still S$70, cool, strangely ICA didn't take this opportunity to increase price, they could probably just increase to S$100 and people will be lan lan anyway. Speaking of going somewhere, damn bloody long never go Thailand, wish I could go Phuket or something, but then with the Covid not getting better, recently actually got worse, I think I will probably just stay p

India Covid Getting More Jia Lat

Image
https://sg.news.yahoo.com/india-posts-record-daily-rise-040455271.html If the trend continues, I think they will become number one soon, I mean everyday new cases are in the hundreds of thousands. Looking at this video, not surprising how it got so much worse, really shake head. If I'm not wrong, I think BTO might get further delayed, many construction workers are from India after all, those already here, they should definitely just stay put, they go back later kena infected. Those who want to come here, better don't let them come, if really have to come, make sure they quarantine longer. But the scary part is the mutated strain of the virus, not sure if those already vaccinated will be protected or not. Jia lat, sigh, I think this year will not get any better, can start to look forward to next year lol.

Wife Owes CareShield Life Premium

Previous post regarding CareShield Life. Today received a letter from MOH + CPF saying my wife owes S$252.87 of premiums, I thought they would just automatically deduct from my account since she doesn't have a single cent in her CPF. But as usual SG anything government related sure have e-Service, so easy to use and convenient, I think SG must have one of the the best government e-Services in the world if not the best. Just follow these steps: Go to  https://www.careshieldlife.gov.sg/ Under "eServices" > "Change Premium Payer" > It will redirect you to SingPass. After that pretty straightforward, just enter my wife's ID, the amount will appear, then just follow the instructions. Settle in less than 3 mins.

DIY Upgrade Water Pipe System

Image
The red switch is spoil already so it doesn't work, so whenever need to replace the water pipe, need to turn off the entire water supply from outside my flat, damn troublesome. So yesterday I bought some parts and replaced it myself, there's actually 3 new parts, first one is the L-shaped to bend it outwards so that it will be easier to work with in future. Second is the new switch, see the grey switch. Finally is the split which allows two water flows; one to basin and one to hand spray. The 3 parts I think around S$3+ to S$4+ each, so total S$10++. Plumbing sure is very tough work, cut my fingers too, no wonder they charge so much for the labour, but if don't want to pay then just DIY haha. Just take note that plumbing service expensive is due to the labour, not the parts, the parts actually doesn't cost much, especially these days a lot of these parts come from China, mass produced and easily available, but quality is good.
