$CRO Back to $0.10

Ever since the FTX collapse back in Nov 2022, $CRO has fell below $0.10 and stayed below for a year, then 2 days ago it reclaimed $0.10 and yesterday it broke above, good thing I have been holding it all along and didn't sell at the bottom. By the way I parked all of it in defi to earn interest. I did buy a little bit of $CRO here and there to average down, but now I'm largely holding USDC and USDT because this time round I am more cautious, the last time I fomo I undo all my profits and got wrecked instead, I just have this gut feeling that a big crash is coming, not just crypto crash but a global crash, so I feel more comfortable holding cash instead. I also started to unwind some of my old trading positions, those that got stuck in limbo when $CRO went to shit, managed to unwind quite a few already, just left a few big ones, these are mainly my CRO/BTC and ETH/CRO positions. I parked all of my USDC and USDT in defi, collecting a nice 5-10% interest, yeah the interest rate ju

Malaysian National Tried to Flee with Crypto.com's Money

Image
https://www.theage.com.au/national/victoria/the-10-5m-dilemma-how-one-woman-handled-a-crypto-cash-error-in-her-favour-20230811-p5dvph.html Summary Thevamanogari Manivel, a 41-year-old Malaysian national. Manivel pleaded guilty to recklessly dealing with proceeds of crime after currency giant crypto.com mistakenly deposited $10.5 million into her Commonwealth Bank account, instead of a $100 refund. Manivel had returned more than $8 million and settled with the crypto company, but not before she tried to transfer millions overseas and fly out of Australia with $11,750 cash. Another person opened an account on crypto.com and that $100 was deposited into it from her Manivel’s bank account. Detecting the inconsistency between the name of the account and origin of the funds, crypto.com said it would refund the money to Manivel. When a company staffer went to process the refund on May 11, 2021, instead of putting $100 onto the transfer document they typed the account number, 10474143. The err

So Much FUD on Crypto.com

Image
Over the weekend suddenly so much FUD generated on Crypto.com, knn I thought what happened, somebody questioned why Crypto.com accidentally sent 320,000 Ether to Gate.io, after that all sorts of rumours and speculations followed on Twitter and $CRO price tanked to around US$0.0552, it all started from this tweet if I'm not wrong: Anyone know why https://t.co/2vZHyCaKNe would send 320k ETH (82% of their ETH today) to https://t.co/bVgf3bCqwp on October 21? pic.twitter.com/2E1NxX1pJz — Conor (@jconorgrogan) November 12, 2022 After that I did some checks, seems like from "Crypto.com 5" wallet they sent 320,000 Ether to following wallet, which seems to be Crypto.com's corporate account on Gate.io: https://etherscan.io/tx/0xb426efda7525776e856b414c87ec0d7859e9bccafe727c174c7b51ed7ada6bee Then it probably went into Gate.io's cold wallet for safekeeping: https://etherscan.io/tx/0x016465d2b583bd9c36c24840d966aa3e8c7a9f2fc92ecc5c00a1fe40075e5752 A few days later, Gate.io

$CRO Appeared for No Reason

Image
https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2022/06/won-9422996747-cro.html Hmm, I just checked my Crypto.com exchange wallet, 142++ $CRO appeared out of nowhere, I checked transaction history but didn't find anything. Now that I recall, last month also same, cannot find anything in transaction history and I thought it could be from the trading competition or a mistake, but doesn't seem to be a mistake because they didn't revert, or maybe it is some sort of silent monthly reward just for trading in the exchange? I did make quite a number of trades in May and Jun, but it's not as much as earlier months though, they didn't silently reward me for the earlier months haha. Anyway, I'll just leave it there for 1-2 days, see if they revert, if no, then I'll just take it.

Crypto.org vs Cronos

Like many people I have been wondering why Crypto.com need to have two blockchains i.e. Crypto.org and Cronos. Both are using $CRO as the fuel i.e. network fees. If you look at pages 42-44 of their whitepaper, they explain it clearly:  https://crypto.com/images/crypto_com_whitepaper.pdf Crypto.org "Crypto.org Chain is the next-generation public blockchain that enables transactions worldwide between people and businesses. It is also the technology that powers Crypto.com Pay, our mobile payment solution (see section above), and will be used to revolutionize the world of payments, DeFi and NFT." Cronos "Cronos is an Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) compatible chain running in parallel to Crypto.org Chain. Cronos is supported by Particle B's $100m EVM fund with access to the 10M+ user base of the Crypto.com ecosystem. The base settlement currency of Cronos is CRO, the native currency of the Crypto.org Chain." So Crypto.org is more like their payment network because it

Won 94.22996747 $CRO

Image
I checked my account today and saw some extra $CRO appear out of nowhere, I think it is because I registered for the chain trading competition, link below. https://crypto.com/exchange/trading-arena/8-win-us$65,000-in-the-challenger-chain-trading-competition I only register, didn't really trade much because market was kind of bad. Nice extra $CRO for network fees lol. Hopefully this is not some kind of mistake, I think I will leave it on the exchange for 1-2 days, currently I don't see any transaction record so I'm not sure where it came from.

Wife's Crypto.com 3 Months Earn Unlocked

3 months ago, I told my wife about the 3 months Earn program that give 10% interest per year but need to lock for 90 days. She thinks not bad so she decided to give me SG$10,000 to try. So here's the breakdown: 3 months ago, I converted SG$10,000 to US$7,377.79. Interest received over 90 days is US$181.92. Principal of US$7,377.79 plus interest of US$181.92 is US$7,559.71. Yesterday I sold via Crypto.com to my SGD Wallet at a rate of about 1.37599228. So I'm giving back my wife SG$10,402.10, means she made a profit of SG$402.10. Not bad, her money would be rotting in the bank anyway. By the way after selling to SGD Wallet, need to withdraw to bank otherwise it will not show in bank. It takes 1-2 days for Crypto.com to review, once review complete, they will FAST transfer into your bank account that is linked to your SGD Wallet. All no charge. The only charge is when sell, they probably take a small cut. Update: Received the money in my bank exact amount I see on Crypto.com App,

Crypto.com Revising Card Rewards for Ruby / Indigo / Jade

https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2022/05/cryptocom-revising-card-staking-rates.html https://crypto.com/product-news/crypto-com-visa-cards-update So for Ruby card, they changed from 0.5% to 1%. Indigo / Jade is 1% to 2%. Ruby card holder need to spend $2500 to hit the $25 cap, Indigo / Jade also need to spend $2500 to hit $50. Note the above is in USD. So for SGD is around $3400 a month, seriously I don't charge that much to my credit card in a month lol, anyway I don't hold their debit card, the 180 days lock-in period puts me off.

Crypto.com Revising Card Staking Rates

Image
https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2022/05/cryptocom-made-some-crazy-announcements.html After the Visa card announcement on 1st May, the entire Crypto.com was set on fire, I can understand why because the cashback and the $CRO staking rewards are probably the only things keeping card holders around and attracting people to sign up for their cards, you touch that or completely remove it, that's it, everybody will jump ship. This morning Kris who is the CEO of Crypto.com came out and said they will revise the card staking rates, instead of reducing to nothing, they lowered it, well something is still better than nothing. Jade Green / Royal Indigo - from 10% to 4% Icy White / Rose Gold - from 12% to 8% Obsidian - from 12% to 8% Ruby Steel and Midnight Blue don't get any staking rewards in the first place so no change.

Crypto.com Made Some Crazy Announcements

Didn't expect them to announce such big changes in a span of two months. Note that some changes to the Visa card already took effect on 1st May 2022 9 PM Singapore time, so if you are still considering getting the card, read and consider again. Don't be fooled by the "Effective on 1 June 2022". Links to all the official tweets below. When I saw the tweet on the changes to the Visa card, I thought to myself that's it, $CRO is going to dump, and indeed it dumped around 18% or more within 6 hours. Good thing before it dumped, I quickly swapped all my $CRO to $ETH at a loss of around 0.8 $ETH, if I didn't do that, that 0.8 could have tripled. My loss is nothing compared to the poor folks who are now stuck with overpriced Visa cards, aiyoh, couldn't Crypto.com have done this phase by phase with early warning, just suddenly announce and take effect is just madness, people don't even have a reasonable time to react. Anyway I'm not going to hold $CRO anymo

Crypto.com SGD Wallet

Image
Woohoo! Finally they enable the SGD Wallet, this is way better than StraitsX because StraitsX has a yearly purchase limit of SG$30,000 per year whereas the SGD Wallet goes by monthly of SG$680,000. Another thing better is there is no buy or sell fee with the SGD Wallet! StraitsX doesn't charge for buy but it charge 0.4% for sell. I sent SG$10 and received SG$10 in the app within 30 minutes, and I thought first time will take longer, but well, fast is good: Twitter update from  @cryptocom : 🇸🇬 Singapore users: Funding your account is now quicker and simpler with FAST (Fast and Secure Transactions) ⚡ ✔️ Easy setup ✔️ Secure and instantaneous transactions ✔️ Higher deposit and withdrawal limits Set up your Fiat Wallet now 👉 https://t.co/nrLHKyDWPG pic.twitter.com/SVSPKFSP7Y — Crypto.com (@cryptocom) April 19, 2022 Official links: https://crypto.com/product-news/sgd-fiat-wallet-fast https://help.crypto.com/en/articles/6043252-fiat-wallet-sgd-bank-transfer-via-fast-network Update:

Crypto.com Exchange ETH/BTC Trading Pair

These few days I been playing with the ETH/BTC pair, kind of interesting and made some little profits too. I find that it is great for swing trade when the BTC/USDC and ETH/USDC pairs don't move much. I feel that the ETH/BTC is more like a swap, because when buying ETH, actually is selling BTC, then when selling ETH is actually buying BTC. Like this: Buy ETH/BTC +ETH -BTC You spend BTC to buy ETH. Sell ETC/BTC -ETH +BTC You spend ETH to buy BTC. So when ETH/BTC price is low, you can buy, and when it is high, you can sell, this way you can earn the difference, but instead of using USDC, you use ETH and BTC to play. Cool right? Haha.

Crypto.com Level 4 Trading Volume

Image
Wow, I actually traded this much, I think it counts all trades regardless of buy or sell, regardless of any pair, it just take the USD value and add it together.

The next day I went nuts and went all in on BTC and ETH, I can't remember if I check my ranking after that but wasn't expecting my ranking to move much. Today I received an email from Crypto.com with this huge surprise. Can't figure out how I ended up in the "4th - 10th" place and won US$500 lol.
