Temporary Crown

https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2025/11/permanent-crown-broken.html Today manage to go off early after work and rush to clinic, go early the MRT and bus also damn crowded. So I reached the clinic a few minutes before appointment time, basically dentist helped to put on a temporary crown, I guess also did a really thorough cleaning and scanning before putting on the crown that's why the whole session took like 1hr 45mins or so. Then next week have to go back again to put the permanent crown, after that then talk about the implant to better spread out the force of my bite. Today paid S$1000 for the crown and S$5 for infection control charges, then orange CHAS card deduct S$410, so end up paying S$595. Hmm nowadays have this infection control charges, I checked with the staff she told me it is payable every visit, anyway not a big deal considering they squeeze you dry with other things, but at least now the CHAS card seems more useful, I remember last time orange is as goo...

Permanent Crown Broken

https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2024/08/permanent-crown.html Yesterday night while eating Calbee prawn crackers, my permanent crown broke off, didn't bite anything hard so I think must have cracked already. Today went to my neighbourhood dentist to try my luck, good thing they have a slot for me and didn't have to wait long. Dentist told me have to redo the crown, I was thinking what the heck, only did the crown last year, also told me could be because I have stronger bite and my lower jaw missing a tooth (second molar), so recommend me to do implant to spread out the force. Then dentist helped to do a filling, took x-ray for the implant, consultation and a infection control charge, so total is S$255 then lucky I have orange CHAS card, deduct S$54.50 so end up paying S$200.50. To visit again on Monday to do crown.

Sold All My CRO

Finally I gave up, had a chance to sell for more when it was at $0.36-$0.38, in fact wife kept telling me to sell, I held on to the hope of going to $1.00 but end up only to watch it tumble down again, sigh, but it's ok, I managed to get out with a profit of $4493 so it's actually not bad. This CRO is a big disappointment, held it for almost 4 years, even rotated my BTC and ETH into it, what a waste of opportunity, but at least this one I still got profit, I remember I lost money on ShitPost. Currently I bought ETH again at $3736, seems like a good entry price, hoping it will go to $5300 then I sell.

Almost 1 Month Into New Job

Overall ok, bosses nice, pay is good, keyword pay is good so nothing much to complain. I also get to touch on a lot of infra stuff which I heard before but never touch before, so it's a good learning experience. 1 year contract by the way, after 1 year see how, if still happy will continue, if not maybe go do foodpanda or something haha.

Vaping is Out of Control

Image
https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/school-parents-on-alert-after-vape-peddlers-approach-primary-school-pupil Two teenagers trying to sell vape to a primary 4 kid, what the heck, easy to obtain is one thing, blatantly selling to a kid in broad daylight is crazy. https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/organised-crime-groups-pushing-drug-laced-vapes-in-asia-including-singapore-un Nowadays some of the vape is added with this "etomidate" or "ketamine" drug, who knows what else they can add, imagine what will happen if your primary 4 kid take try vaping out of curiosity or peer pressure. https://www.go.gov.sg/reportvape Can report vape offences using the link, but HSA says they are dealing with a lot of reports.

Got the New Job

https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2025/07/time-to-change-job.html So the HR reached out to me last week, overall package seems pretty standard, nothing fantastic or terrible, 14 days annual leave, 14 days medical leave, outpatient and dental claim (with yearly cap), hospital leave (up to 60 days inclusive of the 14 days medical leave), group insurance (exclude dependants), only thing lacking is cannot claim outpatient or dental for dependants, but really it's not an issue, typically those that cover dependants will have a yearly cap anyway. There's a 1 month performance bonus, which is not bad. The one fantastic part is the pay jump, about ~34%, totally didn't expect that, I thought they would come back and try to negotiate down but they didn't even try, basically I just put in a higher amount as advised by my ex-colleague, and they simply accepted it. I initially thought at most it's a 5-10% jump, honestly didn't know this new role can draw this kind ...

Time to Change Job

Image
https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2024/02/6-weeks-at-new-job.html My last post about my current job was last year, from then till now I have been at this job for about 1.5 years, and I'm moving on soon. The job itself actually is alright and quite meaningful and I really enjoy the work because there is a lot of things I can learn, problem is the manager and lead, outright incompetent and unqualified, what a waste of the team of good people we have, already 3 throw letter and I'm the 4th, more will come, eventually even the useless manager and lead will throw letter too when the project turns into a complete shitshow, I have seen this before, it will happen here too. Always must have idiots to ruin everything right, sigh. So before the real shit hits the fan, I thought I better get the hell out first, so last Friday 11th Jul I officially tendered my resignation. Funny thing is actually I announced my resignation on 4th Jul with the day of notice to be on 11th Jul, at t...

Sony SRS-XB100 Review

https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2025/06/sony-srs-xb100-portable-wireless-speaker.html After using this almost a month, I must say I am super impressed, for this price the sound is superb, especially the bass is deep, like really deep, no regret at all.

Went to Wife's Hometown

Image
Daughter school holiday, so me, wife and daughter went to her hometown together, this time only stay at her home, didn't stay in Bangkok cause scared of the earthquake. Then there was the Air India crash that happened one day before we travel, scary sia, we took the same plane model Boeing 787-8. Last time I went was back in 2018 , 7 years ago, time flies, every time I make this kind of post I get so much older. This trip I made use of the YouTrip app, very useful, can use in any of the major chains like 7/11, Big C, Lotus, McDonald's, KFC and so on. The rates are actually pretty good, no hidden charges or anything crazy. Then at her house, overall very chill and relaxing, only problem is a lot of flies and mosquitos, my leg kena bite until quite jialat. Also not quite used to the food there, it's mostly original taste so not much seasoning, but good thing still have 7/11 and Big C so can buy lots of things. The kids there grew up, the adults there got older, wonder when I ...

Sony SRS-XB100 Portable Wireless Speaker

Bought 2 of these at Popular, the price went down to S$49 each, usual price S$90. I got a light grey and a coral, one for me and one for wife. First of all the Bluetooth connectivity is super easy and the sound is amazing, especially the bass, I can finally blast my favourite tunes without my wireless earbuds. It has a 16 hour battery life per charge, and you can use it while charging, perfect for desktop PC. Good thing I didn't spend more money to get the JBL Charge 5, that one is S$189, I can buy like 3 of this Sony XB100 instead.

Sushiro, Amazing

Lunch at Sushiro, food is great as always, service is good, if I want a good sushi this is the place to go.

New House in Tengah

So my new house i.e. BTO is at Tengah, a new estate, not fully complete, still have a lot of construction going on, can see there's still more BTO blocks coming up. There's also the building of the new JRL MRT (Jurong Region Line). My flat itself is nice, have some minor superficial flaws here and there but me and wife don't mind and don't bother as long as not safety issue or very obvious crack or window cannot close, so the only defect we reported is the service yard folding door dislodged after a few weeks of use, I have booked appointment for HDB contractor to fix. The block also nice, no multi-storey carpark, the carpark is at level 1, so residential units start from level 2 onwards, makes the whole area feel very spacious. My block have 3 lifts, I think nowadays 3 is the standard if I'm not wrong. Then around the block, it comes with cycling and walking paths, a lot of open space, not like old estates design until can walk cannot cycle, can cycle cannot walk. ...

8 Months Never Update

My last post was that wife going for her heart surgery, been about 8 months since then. Reason why I didn't post as much was because a lot of things going on, new job, baby just finished surgery, key collection for BTO, wife's surgery, sell resale flat, move house. But now ok, everything settled, should have more time to post my ramblings. Also thinking of going for a holiday, long time never travel, but recently got earthquake, don't know should visit wife's hometown or not. New job Compared to last job, travelling time much longer, have duty roster for 24x7 standby, a lot of things to pick up, good thing is my past experience helps a lot so most of the work is not difficult, just at worst tedious. Benefits not bad, even my wife and daughter's specialist visits all can claim, only thing cannot claim is their surgery due to pre-existing condition, weird right. But applying leave got limitation, and management very out of touch, see how, maybe find new job, travelli...

Wife Operation in Nov

Today went to see the surgeon, wife already decided to go for the operation so quite straightforward, only thing is the risk is about 20% because it's her second operation and weaker heart. So we chose to do it during school holidays, 19 Nov she will admit to hospital, 21 Nov will be the actual operation. The surgeon also asked to decide on what valve for the replacement, we chose the mechanical valve since it will very long, probably her lifetime, only problem is she will need to be on Warfarin for life. The other way is animal valve but that has another problem which is it cannot last her lifetime so very likely she will need another operation again. Thinking back her Thai doctor really kns, they put mechanical valve for her, it's supposed to last her lifetime, end up 14 years need to change, wtf. Anyway hoping for the best.

Permanent Crown

The clinic informed that my crown is ready, so today went to remove the temporary crown and then put on the permanent Zirconia crown. After that also did cleaning. Took around 1 hour or so. Total paid S$234.35 for x-ray, removal of calculus, removal of plaque and/or stain.

Went for Zirconia Crown

Finally went ahead to do my dental crown and I chose the Zirconia crown. Today clean that particular tooth #35, then the dentist took some mould, clean and also put on a temporary crown. Took close to 2 hours. Total paid S$1362.50 including GST of 9%. Company have dental claim but only S$1k+ so still have to top-up.

Wife Going for Operation

Seen her heart doctor today, in a gist her condition is "very bad" and requires operation to replace her heart valve soon, wife keep saying she is fine but I can tell she is getting weaker, very obvious when she walks a little and complain tired. The heart doctor arranged for another appointment to see the surgeon, actually seen this same surgeon last Oct but wife didn't want to go for surgery, ended up a wasted trip, this time round I have to insist. Surprisingly after I spoke to her, she is ok with it, I think since daughter's operation is done and has recovered, so it is much easier to convince her, she also thought I no money to pay, I told her I have money, which is true, I have savings obviously, don't know what she is thinking. Going to see the surgeon end of this month, operation probably 1-2 months later, after operation need to stay in ward for about a week. Cost-wise, not sure how much yet, she is PR so I guess will cost a bit more than daughter's o...

NCS Really CMI

https://www.channelnewsasia.com/singapore/former-ncs-employee-access-computer-system-delete-servers-human-oversight-4405131 Fired already still can access the servers, I wonder really only test environment or not who knows production data they take and sell to Indian scam centers and keep quiet, NCS runs a lot of government systems, networks and infrastructure so I won't be surprised at all especially when their workforce largely foreigners particularly India Indians, if you go to their Ang Mo Kio office during lunch hours you will know what I mean, it's like New Chennai in Singapore (NCS). These bunch of NCS fucks cannot make it at all, they cause a lot of problems to the projects I worked with, everytime got issue they very quick to push blame to application side, create extra work for everybody to check here and there waste a lot of time end up it's either their stupid misconfigured virus scan or garbage backup setup causing high CPU and IO but they still have the cheek ...
