Bought Logitech G203 (Black) S$29.90

https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2021/09/ordered-another-logitech-g304-white.html The left click on my G304 (White) is gg, keep on double click by itself, should be worn out already, at least it served me well for more than 2 years. The Razer Orochi V2 (White) that I bought also gg, the scroll went nuts, didn't last long, just a few months only, very disappointing sia, looking back even if there was a 50% discount also not worth buying. After that I bought another G304 (Black) to replace it. Anyway I saw some really good reviews about this G203, only thing I don't like is that it is wired, but I decided to go ahead and try it since it is not that expensive, and boy it is really good sia, feels premium even the wire feels premium, it feels exactly like a G304 but with a wire, best part is I can barely feel the wire there, you know those cheapo mouse you can always feel the wire pulling back a bit when you are moving the mouse around no matter how you position the mou...

Belkin SoundForm Play AUC005 Update

https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2024/02/belkin-soundform-play-auc005.html After using this for two days, I love it, the battery indicator is super nice and the sound is really not bad at all, even got bass control. The battery life is also pretty good but not big issue for me since I bought two of it. No regret for this purchase.

Belkin SoundForm Play AUC005

https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2023/07/bought-nokia-e3100-plus.html Getting tired of the headphone peeling off, decided to get true wireless earbuds instead, saw this Belkin model selling for S$29.90, bought two of it. The sound is surprisingly good, way better than the Nokia E3100 Plus. Good buy.

Saw this incredible image from Midjourney discord, look like some Chinese concubine painting.

Bought Nokia E3100 Plus

Today passed by Popular and saw this wireless earphones selling at S$29.90, it's from Nokia, what a nostalgic brand, last time they were super famous with their snake game phones, nowadays I don't them much so quite a surprise to see their earphones. My JBL TUNE 700BT headphone peeling off already, bought for almost 3 years, thinking of getting a new one but this time not a headphone, because every time I go cut hair the stylist always ask me if I wear headphone, they notice a line on my head lol. I never use this kind of true wireless earphone before, don't know good or not, so decided to get a cheap one to get the feel and saw the Nokia ones, turns out not bad, sound not as good as my headphone though, but for the price its other features seems pretty good. If you don't mind too much about sound, I think this is a solid buy, cheap and good, if you are very particular about sound quality, better not buy this. But this in-ear type wear until ear a bit sore, not even 10 ...

AI Getting Insanely Powerful - Midjourney

Image
I think this year is the year of AI, where AI starts to really take off, I've read of many use cases and one of the more common ones is to generate images. I played with DALL-E and it kind of sucks, but there is one that stands out, Midjourney, the images it generates are insanely good, hard to believe it is generated by AI, some looks so real they can pass off as photographs. Below are some taken from their discord, in order of obvious to less obvious. The first 5 obviously you can see they are not real, first impression is artwork. If someone told me these houses are hand-drawn, I will believe it. This is like some fashion photo-shoot you see in magazines. This looks like a scene from some comedy movie. This one look so damn real, it's a photograph no matter how I look at it.

Bought iPhone 14 Plus for Myself and Wife

Went to Apple Store at Orchard Road, quite packed, they even run out of hand sanitiser, but first impression is "wow", feels very spacious and relaxing. At first still thinking of buying online as in Shoppee or Lazada or even Courts to save a few hundred bucks, after reading some bad reviews and horror stories, decided not to save that money for headache, just go down to Apple Store and buy and see why it is so highly recommended, anyway me, wife and baby also never visit Apple Store before. I think Apple Store is about the experience, everything put up swee swee, service is tok gong, plenty of service staff around, products are world class, you just have to walk in with money. It didn't take long before we grabbed one of the blue shirt guy and started ordering, to my surprise can just order from his device, just tell him what we want, he key in, then he go grab the products, then just pay on the spot on a small device that can accept credit card, no need to go any counte...

Thinking of Upgrading Phone

Image
I bought the iPhone 8 Plus 64 GB for my wife back in Nov 2017, my own iPhone 8 in Apr 2018, both more than 5 years already. Wife's phone got change the battery in Mar 2022 so her phone is still working well whereas my phone seems to be getting slower, maybe nowadays the apps getting more intensive or maybe because my battery maximum capacity dropped to 76%, and my screen feels so small compared to wife's because hers is 8 Plus so bigger screen. Now looking at iPhone 14 on Shoppee, got promo at S$1330 for the 128 GB version, then 25th-27th Jun got promo, not sure if it will be even cheaper. By the way if buying from Apple store online, the 128 GB version costs S$1513, a S$183 difference. iPhone 15 is rumoured to release in Sep 2023, hmm, actually to us don't really matter since our phones so old already, 14 and 15 are both major upgrade for us, more importantly this time I must get at least a plus so that the screen is larger, easier to see TradingView charts. Then my wife...

Bought Razer Orochi V2 (White) SG$69.90

https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2018/11/bought-new-mouse-g304-and-keyboard-akb55.html My office G304 (Black) mouse spoil so I went to a Popular bookstore near my workplace and bought the Orochi V2. I have been looking out for new mouse, office mouse started to feel faulty like turning off by itself, it was happening for a few weeks before it went totally dead. At least this mouse served me well for more than 4 years, bought it in Nov 2018, must be because I keep dropping it on the floor. I searched online to compare the Orochi V2 vs G304, generally people say the Orochi is better, but after trying it I find the Orochi a bit too small for my hand whereas the G304 fits perfectly. Another thing is the Orochi feels less precise than the G304 especially if I don't use a mouse pad, the G304 works nicely on the surfaces I use without any mouse pad. The only thing nice about the Orochi is the software, it's embedded in the mouse so I don't have to go to their website to...

Kudos to RoyalCDKeys

Yesterday my PC was behaving strangely, I was doing nothing and the CPU fans started to spin and CPU utilisation went up significantly, funny thing is when I opened the task manager, it stopped, I close task manager, fans started spinning again, I tried a few times and even restarted PC also same behaviour, damn fishy sia. To play safe, I backup my data and then reinstalled my OS, after that it was back to normal, probably some bad programs doing something naughty, well I did install a lot of weird stuff so not very surprising haha. After reinstallation, everything works except my Office 2019, getting invalid key error when I try to activate it. https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2021/10/bought-microsoft-office-2019.html I emailed the RoyalCDKeys support, didn't expect them to respond so fast, they told me that when reinstalling Windows I should uninstall the Office first otherwise I won't be able to activate using the same key, and they gave me a replacement key and i...

Thermal Throttling on 3060Ti

Image
Recently I noticed that my mouse cursor will lag a bit, and when I run Dota 2, and when there is too much activity on screen, it will crash to desktop. I thought a 1050 or 1060 would be able to easily run Dota 2, not to mention 3060Ti. Oh by the way it's the first time I try Dota 2, I actually played a lot of Dota 1 back in the day. Today I flipped over my CPU casing and saw a thick layer of dust at the bottom. I thought I cleaned it a couple of months ago, didn't expect the dust to accumulate so fast, I think every month have to clean once, where the heck did all the dust come from anyway.

Cancelled My Netflix

Sorry Netflix but I got to cancel the subscription, getting kind of boring for me and doesn't make any sense to be pay a monthly subscription when I barely watch any shows these days. S$17.48 is not a big amount but neither small in the long run. Netflix share price is down 66.79% YTD. That's crazy, I guess people just got bored of it, especially after they increased price. I think rather than increase price, they should have kept it the same or match down with Disney+, come up with a quarterly, 6 monthly or yearly plan and throw in some discounts. Well, if their share price keep plunging, they better hope someone is willing to buy them and do a restructure, the product is good, just the pricing is bad.

Ethereum, WSL2 and Docker Desktop

Image
So today I read up on Ethereum, I think it is a wonderful creation, I might have decided to dive deep into Ethereum, I started here:  https://ethereum.org/en/learn Just finished watching the very first video on the Vitalik interview, he is such an immensely smart guy and well spoken, I hope to one day become an expert like him or at least know half of what he knows, now I'm just a noob trying to find my way in the matrix haha. I also think that I cannot go wrong with Ethereum, it is after all the big dog next to Bitcoin. I think Bitcoin is the genesis, the king and the beginning of everything crypto and blockchain, whereas Ethereum is a freaking great idea inspired by Bitcoin, both are awesome, I would have went with Bitcoin if Satoshi Nakamoto is a real person, but nobody knows if there even is such a person, what a mystery, probably the biggest mystery in the 21st century. Other than that, I also setup WSL2 to run Ubuntu on my Windows 11, also integrated Docker Desktop ...

Elon Musk Offers to Buy 100% of Twitter

https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/0001418091/000110465922045641/tm2212748d1_sc13da.htm "I invested in Twitter as I believe in its potential to be the platform for free speech around the globe, and I believe free speech is a societal imperative for a functioning democracy. However, since making my investment I now realize the company will neither thrive nor serve this societal imperative in its current form. Twitter needs to be transformed as a private company. As a result, I am offering to buy 100% of Twitter for $54.20 per share in cash , a 54% premium over the day before I began investing in Twitter and a 38% premium over the day before my investment was publicly announced. My offer is my best and final offer and if it is not accepted, I would need to reconsider my position as a shareholder. Twitter has extraordinary potential.  I will unlock it. /s/ Elon Musk" When you are the richest man in the world, anything is possible. Personally I love Twitter, simple and easy ...

Replaced Battery for Wife's iPhone 8 Plus

https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2017/11/re-contract-wifes-mobile-with-iphone-8.html https://support.apple.com/en-sg/iphone/repair/service/battery-power How time flies, she using the phone for more than 4 years already, then recently she keep complaining that the phone keep shutting down by itself even at 100% battery, if charge again, use for a while it just shutdown again, so I guess could be battery problem because other than that the phone is still in good condition. Today I booked an appointment to go A.Lab at Plaza Singapura, they replaced the battery for S$75, the whole process took around 1 hour 40 minutes, very friendly and helpful guys there. Good thing after replacing battery the phone is good as new, no need to buy new phone. Now that I think of it, iPhone 8 can last a really long time, I think with this battery replacement, maybe can tahan another 4 years.

Thought My JBL TUNE 700BT Spoil

https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2020/10/bought-jbl-tune-700bt-s119.html https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2021/09/finally-found-cause-to-my-network-auto.html https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2021/10/just-bought-new-computer.html So yesterday I cleaned my new PC, and since I switched back to using LAN cable, I not using the WIFI anymore (LAN still the best, WIFI speed is just not as good and stable, I bought a Vention Cat 8 Ethernet Cable for S$14.98 at Lazada), so I removed the antennas from my PC. After cleaning I turned on my headphone and the signal keep getting lost, at first thought it's a hardware failure, so I went and ordered a new headphone EDIFIER W830BT for S$90.56. Then today I brought my office headphone home and it had the same problem, then I googled and found that the motherboard antennas are actually also for Bluetooth, alamak, so I put it back and immediately problem solved, really facepalm. Anyway have two headphones at home also ...

Bought Logitech G915 TKL Keyboard (White)

Image
Have been following the keyboard on Lazada at around S$260+, been reading some really good reviews on it. Then on Monday I saw the keyboard going on offer at $$240.49 at the 11.11 sale, price is inclusive of delivery, so can't resist and quickly ordered one. It also goes well with my white  G304 and white NR200P computer casing, only my monitor is black though, hmm maybe should have also bought a white monitor instead but well, I'm still happy with my AOC monitor even though it is not white. Feels really premium, I think need some time to get used to it, but the feel is really great and it is not noisy, just like a normal keyboard, mine is the GL Tactile keycaps. And the Logitech G Hub is really cool, can control both my G304 mouse and this keyboard, can adjust the lighting too, shows battery too, fantastic. Should have bought this keyboard long ago, one keyboard to rule them all.

https://www.allkeyshop.com/blog/buy-microsoft-office-2019-professional-plus-cd-key-compare-prices By the way there are two types, one is phone activation and the other is online activation. Finally bought it at Royal CD Keys , bought the retail version with online activation, activate, download and install in less than 10 minutes. Bought it for 7.50 EUR which is about S$11.74. Update: Final charge S$12.19.

Undervolting CPU and GPU

Image
I read some good things about undervolting CPU and GPU, seems able to get more or less same performance but using less power and in doing so reduce temperatures, so I decided to try it out and got some nice results. Tools required for undervolting CPU ThrottleStop: https://www.techpowerup.com/download/techpowerup-throttlestop Intel XTU: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/17881/intel-extreme-tuning-utility-intel-xtu.html Using the Intel XTU to run stress test, before undervolt it was 90 degree. After undervolt, it dropped to 80 degree. So this worked nicely. Tools required for undervolting GPU MSI Afterburner:  https://www.msi.com/Landing/afterburner/graphics-cards Heaven Benchmark:  https://benchmark.unigine.com/heaven Using the Heaven Benchmark to run benchmarking, before undervolt, Afterburner was showing 1800MHz and 80 degree near the end of the benchmark. After undervolt, it maintain around 1845MHz and at most 78 degree but usually hover around 74-76. We...
