Marlboro Menthol Comes with Seal

Image
Today bought a pack of Marlboro Menthol, very long time never smoke this, now one pack $13.10, really expensive, long long ago got sell the 10 sticks pack, I think one pack only $2+. Now they have this seal, I think it is to keep it fresh, prevent it from "lao hong".

How Can Someone Be So Unreasonable

Just now went for a meeting with users and it took more than 3 hours, all because this one senior user simply cannot stop finding fault with me, and it's not the first time this happened, this happened quite a few times already and I'm seriously getting very fed up with him. Last month he told me to check something for him, I did and sent him a report of my findings, he didn't bother to go through and waited until this meeting to tell me I didn't check correctly, so how come he didn't highlight to me last month, only today then he tell me not correct? And he went on and on for almost an hour, whole meeting got stuck there just because of him and we still have other stuff to go through. Finally he told me to go back and check again, repeat the cycle again, I will check and send him and he won't bother to read and during next meeting he will find fault again, got another case also like this, like that can never solve the problem, just keep going back and forth. ...

Tomorrow holiday, have already turned off the alarm on my phone, I want to sleep as late as I can without any disturbance, must catch a good rest, next week going to be busy. So now I'm thinking where to go eat tomorrow, maybe find a good dim sum place but I bet it will be packed since tomorrow is a public holiday.

So Irritated Today

Went back to work and so many things to follow-up, what great colleagues, any problem just wait for me to come back and solve, really wtf. Sometimes I think why not pay me their salary since I got to do everything, sigh. Or maybe I'm tired of bad news, baby not doing well, next week got to go back for review and I wonder what kind of bad news will they bring me again. I think next week going to spend a big deal of money again, got to do echo for baby, even for adults it cost $300+ for PR, almost $500 for foreigner, for baby I don't know how much but it's not going to be cheap. See how it goes.

What a Shitty Day!

Yesterday night the neighbour above was making noises off and on, the baby is running around at almost 2am! Don't they have to work or something, how come they can sleep so late, baby running at wee hours of the day, what the hell man! And off and on they will knock the floor, or drop something, switch off/on something, think it's the lights, or turn on water, and watch TV not super loud but in the silent night it's very obvious, and then talking on and off, really cannot take it, ended up I slept at 4am. So of course today went to office feeling so stoned, then early morning kena 2 difficult cases, wah piang, what the fuck man! Settled one case and the other solved one problem another problem appear, wah really headache, just now work until 6.30pm also cannot solve, tomorrow still have to go back to settle, sigh, wonder is it because I'm feeling so tired so cannot think properly hence took so stupidly long to think of solution. Shit, still got stuff from last week ha...

New Spectacles Got Scratches!

Wah shiat, waited eagerly for today and after I collected and went home to surf net then I noticed my right lens has a patch of scratches, can't see it if the light is not shining towards me, so when the monitor's light shines into my eyes, the patch is quite obvious, then I put my glasses under direct light and looked from under, wow, the patch is so obvious, no wonder I see blurry lights at certain angle, I think somebody didn't do their job properly, how can they hand over a product with poor workmanship, sigh, jia lat, how can anyone be so irresponsible, I am sure the one who scratched it knows, but just want to ship it out and get it over and done with, please, think anyone so blind to never notice it. I really hate these type of people, they screw up and just keep quiet and let the snowball roll on, really scum of the earth.

Cut My Hair and Got Myself a New Spectacle!

Cut my hair at the barber for $10, looks good! Also got myself a new spectacle for $155, nowadays the spectacle so expensive, my current one only costed me $90+, shows that things are getting more expensive, I hope my increment this year is good, and today company announced they will release increment details next Monday, hope more money!

My Wife Sold Her Pink Bicycle for $130

We bought for $165 if I remember correctly, and also bought an air pump for $20+, the bicycle lock for $10 or $15, sold everything for $130. I think the condition is still good because my wife rarely used it, furthermore when we move to the new place, I don't think she will use it at all because our new place is quite hilly, nobody cycles there. My wife asked my father to help send it, she paid him $30 for the delivery, actually it's quite on the way for my father so I think $30 is still reasonable, so finally she got back $100, not bad. My wife sold it to a Thai friend she met on Facebook, there is a page on Facebook for Thai people living in Singapore, they share job info, sell stuff and make friends, it's like a Thai social circle in Singapore. She met quite a few friends there, all married to Singaporean guys, all couples like us, actually quite interesting to know there are so many couples like us and I think it's good for my wife to make friends with them, they ...

Alan Ramos Psychology Graduate Working at IDA

Recently I keep seeing news about this guy, he is said to be a psychology graduate from Harvard who was employed at IDA when he was 22 years old, now he is 26 years old and being charged with underage sex. Netizens were asking how a psychology grad managed to land himself a job at IDA, I thought maybe he was doing something non-IT related, then I checked out his LinkedIn profile , it seems like I was wrong because under his Skills & Endorsements, I see Software Project Management, Software Development, Web Services and etc, those are definitely IT stuff, I'm in the industry so I know. So back to the question, so how did a non-IT graduate get an IT job? Actually it's not unusual, I read in a book where this web developer is a graduate in marine life or biology, and among my colleagues, I have a physics graduate who is a Java (it's a programming language) technical team lead, a civil engineering graduate who is a software developer, an engineering graduate who is also a...

Tomorrow Clear Off-in-lieu!

The second day of Chinese New Year fell on a Saturday so my company gave me an off-in-lieu because I am on a 5 days work week. So tomorrow I will bring my wife to the polyclinic to check her blood, and then go find something good to eat, maybe we'll try the legendary $1.50 sushi at Tampines One, my colleague told me it's good and I heard there is always a long queue, even crazy long when they just opened and they were selling their sushi for only $1. At $1.50, I wonder how they make money, my colleague also mentioned that the serving is big, are they making a loss to get the customers first? Maybe, so I'm sure they will eventually raise the price.

My Father's Friends are Really Nice to Him

Last weekend, my father brought home a gift hamper and a whole box of mandarin oranges, I think the hamper is quite expensive because I see a box of bird's nest, a bottle of liquor, mushrooms and many other goodies, he said it's a gift from his friend. The next day, he brought home another box of mandarin oranges, a different brand this time, also a gift from his friend. Today he brought home 2 packages of Fragrance Bak Kwa, 500g each and a whole pot of chicken curry, yeah, you read that right, a whole pot. I heard from my father that this friend of his is in the economy rice business, I remember he also cooked a whole pot of chicken curry for my father's last birthday, actually he cooked the curry for my father quite a few times already, me and my wife liked his curry very much, it is definitely one of the best chicken curry I have ever tasted, spiciness is just nice, smooth gravy, goes very well with rice, tender chicken, soft potatoes, not too oily, yummy, I could dri...

Anton Casey Left Singapore with Family

It sure escalated fast, I remember reading about his comments on Facebook last week and now he has left Singapore with his family. I did a search about him and people were relentlessly bombarding him, even people who were trying to be nice were attacked as well, the wrath of Singapore's netizens is limitless and merciless. I think people are getting overly worked up over this issue, and also being online and without having to face the person himself, it's easier to say whatever you want, and I feel that people just lose control. Anyway his comments were not entirely wrong, the part where he mentioned the stench on our MRT, that's true, our MRT is indeed smelly, being a regular commuter I had to endure the stench of farts, burps, sweat or strange food smells, I'm not saying I never fart nor burp nor sweat, it's just that some people do it on the train, I never fart or burp on the train, I do have the urge sometimes but I can force myself to endure until I leave the...

New Year Day and My Back Hurts!

Yesterday night after watching movie suddenly my lower back hurts, put some Yoko Yoko and seems to reduce the pain a bit but it's still painful if I stand up or sit down. This morning the pain is still there, put some more Yoko, now I think feels a little better, don't feel like going anywhere though, maybe I'll watch movie again ;) New year, just another day passed, another year passed, like no feeling, oh wait, the only feeling is inflation, price hike everywhere.

More Than 500 Staff Retrenched at Hitachi Global Storage Technologies

Source Mainly they are shifting their hard disk manufacturing operations to Thailand, obviously because labour costs there are so much cheaper. I think they can easily hire a staff from 6000 to 7000 Bahts a month, which is around $230+ Singapore dollars. Actually most companies have shifted some or most of their operations to emerging markets like China, Philippines and Thailand, of these 3, Philippines staff costs are the highest since they are a English speaking country, Thailand and China are the cheapest. This has nothing to do with our economy, it's just because operating costs in Thailand are lower, and the company is taking that opportunity to maximize their profit, that's all. For those who were retrenched, I wish them the best, I hope the relevant ministry and union will do their best to assist these people. Also to highlight that people working in the production line usually have a low monthly basic salary of between $1100 to $1600, and in order for them to e...
