[AI] More Relaxing Retirement and Semi-Retirement Jobs in Singapore: Non-Managerial Roles for a Slower Pace of Life

Retirement does not necessarily mean stopping work completely. For many Singaporeans, the ideal next chapter is semi-retirement — working fewer hours, earning some additional income, staying socially active, and having more time for family, hobbies and travel. The key is finding a job that does not bring back the pressures of a full corporate career. If you are looking for something non-managerial, non-trainer and relatively low-pressure , Singapore has a number of options worth considering. Importantly, "relaxing" is subjective. A job that feels easy to one person may be tiring to another. For semi-retirement, the best roles are generally those with predictable hours, limited responsibility, manageable physical demands and little pressure to meet aggressive targets. Singapore is also becoming more supportive of flexible and phased employment for older workers. From 1 July 2026, the statutory retirement age is 64 and the re-employment age is 69. The Government has also exten...

[AI] How to Deal With Someone Behaving Erratically or Aggressively in Singapore

Encountering someone who is behaving unpredictably, extremely agitated, confused, or aggressive can be frightening. Whether it happens on the MRT, at a hawker centre, in your neighbourhood, at work, or in a public space, the most important thing is to prioritise safety rather than trying to diagnose or confront the person . It is also better to avoid labels such as “crazy person.” Unusual or aggressive behaviour can have many causes, including emotional distress, a mental-health crisis, intoxication, medical problems, or simply a highly stressful situation. You may not know what is happening to the person. Here are practical ways to respond safely in Singapore. 1. Keep Your Distance Your first priority should be creating physical space. If someone is shouting, making threatening gestures, following people, or behaving unpredictably, avoid moving closer to them. Do not crowd them, stare at them, touch them, or attempt to physically restrain them. If possible, move toward a safer locatio...

Coming to The End of 2022

Wow, how time flies man, so fast 2022 going to finish, faster finish also good la, this year really terrible, so many bad things happen, I thought after Singapore government relax Covid rules things will get better but globally so many shit happen, the one which everybody can feel is the inflation, prices across the board shoot up. Next year don't know what other shit will happen, not so much about Singapore but globally, so far seems like US inflation is coming down, they probably going to start slowing down on the rate hike which means people will slowly start spending rather than saving, then China seems to have abandoned the zero Covid policy which is good because their cities will start to open up more, production and spending will slowly return. Then the Russia-Ukraine war I lost track already, like never going to end, as every country start to adjust, nobody is going to give a shit about the war anymore, Russia can become North Korea and isolate from the world if they want. ...

Bye Bye 2018

Time pass really fast, now 2018 coming to an end soon, major thing this year is changed a new job, good thing is that it is a better job so career-wise considered doing fine. Today also completed my appraisal, boss said gave me very good rating, well at least here if put in effort it is recognised unlike my previous company. Boss also trying to push me to become project manager... Anyway no harm trying but I still like doing technical work though, project management is a whole different beast which I tried a bit and didn't enjoy. Finish current project first then see how. Family also doing well except that one time wife got hospitalised due to low INR reading, baby doing well but getting too fat, must make her exercise more. Next year she turning 4, maybe can start to enrol her in kindergarten but I'm not overly concerned. Financial not so good in terms of investment, stocks losing money but good thing is that it is money that I don't need to touch so still not that b...
