Baby Going for Heart Operation in 2024

Yesterday wife bring daughter to see heart doctor, he said next year have to plan for heart operation during school holidays, I didn't manage to go together because serving notice so cannot take leave, I no more leave anyway. Good thing wife told me can email the doctor because he shared his email, actually the doctor also asked me to email him a few times already but I keep forgetting about it, didn't really pay much attention because nothing firmed up yet, but now that I know 2024 will have heart operation so I emailed the doctor, asked if we can plan via email, he asked if it is ok to call me next month, I said ok. Hopefully can plan out everything via email or phone call because I still have a 3 months confirmation period at new job so can't take leave also. By the way wife also supposed to go for operation, she seen the surgeon last month but declined going for operation, said she feels healthy, well nobody can't force her, ultimately it's her decision, I can o

DBS Anti-Scam Team

My wife asked me to help transfer some money to MIL for payment of insurance, about S$1000. Today I tried to send, I thought it went through but somehow the amount is not deducted from my account, usually it does so I thought maybe weekend so they will deduct on next working day. Then not even 5 minutes, got a guy from DBS Anti-Scam team called me and asked about the transfer, the purpose of it and asked me if I'm sure the account is correct, told him I sending on behalf of my wife to MIL and not the first time I sent to this account, he then verified some of my personal particulars, finally he say they will proceed to process. Damn I'm impressed, nowadays DBS so on one, I think this is a good thing, I don't mind that they call me up to do a check, it's not as if I send money overseas all the time anyway. Good job DBS.

Can Offset Notice Using Annual Leave

So all is good now, they will pay me up to my last day, no deduction of salary since I use 3 days of annual leave to offset the 3 days short of notice period.

Current Company Makan Salary?

https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2023/11/finally-throw-letter.html Today the HR looked for me, sort of told me my annual leave will be forfeited and no using of annual leave to offset my notice period, basically I still left with 3 days of annual leave, I serving notice but short of 3 days so I thought can use the leave to offset, then HR asked me if I'm ok with it, I just say I starting work at new job the very next day after my last day so no choice, I said just go ahead to process my resignation. After I reached home, I took a closer look at my contract, can't find anything about forfeiture of leave, I then looked in employee guideline document it did mention cannot take leave or offset notice period with annual leave but nowhere did it mention forfeiture of leave for my case, it also mentioned they will pay back unconsumed leave in following month after staff left, now that's conflicting from what the HR told me, not sure if there is any miscommunication. Finally Throw Letter

https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2023/11/signed-letter-of-offer.html Today recruiter informed me that my G50 is cleared and I can proceed to tender my resignation. There was this background check that they initiated last week, I asked if it has been cleared as well, the recruiter told me it will move concurrently but most important is the G50 clearance. And since there is about a week's delay due to the G50 clearance, as per the letter of offer signed last week, if I tender today I would be short of 5 days for my notice period, I only left with 3 days leave, minus that I'm still short of 2 days, so I asked if I can move my start date 2 days later, recruiter managed to get approval and sent me a revised letter of offer, I read through seems to be the same except start date is 2 days later, so I e-signed and returned to the recruiter. After that looks like everything is in place, last day at current company and then the next day start at new company, no rest in between

Signed Letter of Offer

This offer is pending the G50 clearance though, probably will know by next week, recruiter told me I can sign first and throw letter once G50 confirmed. Wait for one more week.

$CRO Back to $0.10

Ever since the FTX collapse back in Nov 2022, $CRO has fell below $0.10 and stayed below for a year, then 2 days ago it reclaimed $0.10 and yesterday it broke above, good thing I have been holding it all along and didn't sell at the bottom. By the way I parked all of it in defi to earn interest. I did buy a little bit of $CRO here and there to average down, but now I'm largely holding USDC and USDT because this time round I am more cautious, the last time I fomo I undo all my profits and got wrecked instead, I just have this gut feeling that a big crash is coming, not just crypto crash but a global crash, so I feel more comfortable holding cash instead. I also started to unwind some of my old trading positions, those that got stuck in limbo when $CRO went to shit, managed to unwind quite a few already, just left a few big ones, these are mainly my CRO/BTC and ETH/CRO positions. Going to Throw Letter Soon

https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2023/11/new-job-99-secured.html The recruiter came back with the salary proposal, the confirmed salary is about 20.90% lesser than what I'm getting, still about S$350+ of what I'm expecting, which is still good albeit slightly lower, not an issue for me. I asked the recruiter when I should throw, he told me the only thing left is the G50 clearance, he will still proceed to send me the letter of offer by mid of next week since there is a long weekend, then told me to state that I will accept on the condition that the G50 is cleared and that my start date would be delayed due to the clearance so that I won't run the risk of throwing but G50 never clear. Today spoke with some colleagues, turns out I'm not the only one getting snapped at by this immediate supervisor, sounds like he is just going around being nasty to people, if he keeps this up, I think more people will throw letter, anyway soon to be not my problem anymore, now e

New Job 99% Secured

https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2023/11/good-news-from-recruiter.html Today the recruiter called me to inform that he will proceed with the salary proposal, it's actually a pay cut of about 19.48% which I already told them that I'm fine with before we even started the interview so this part is not an issue, this reduced salary is actually still higher than what I expected by S$450+. They also have a 13th month bonus so I think it's still pretty good overall. I think the lower salary is justified because the scope of the new job is different but more systematic and specific, it even comes with training and mentorship. They are also using modern tools unlike my current company still using dinosaur technology, dinosaur mindset and non-value added implementations which creates more problems than solving problems. For my current job, pay is high, but with higher pay comes sky high expectations, to the extent of magical feats, like turning shit into gold, shit is shit

Good News from Recruiter

https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2023/11/no-news-from-interview-yet.html Today the recruiter informed me that he got a really positive feedback from the hiring manager and I have been shortlisted for the position, see I knew it, feels good means come back good. And reason why it's just shortlisted is because they need to do some clearance, I think it's a government project so need G50 clearance, this part should be no problem since I've cleared many times already. His colleague emailed me to fill up some documents and to provide my pay slips and etc, by tomorrow I should be able to send back everything and then the company will issue a digital offer. All the best to me, getting closer to be able to throw letter lol, really looking forward to it sia, long time never so excited already.

No News from Interview Yet

Interview Went Well

https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2023/10/confirmed-interview.html As expected, the interview went along smoothly, there were 3 interviewers, one guy is the GM, one is the deputy, another I think is a lead. Mainly is the GM asking questions, the other two guys didn't really asked much since the GM pretty much covered everything, whatever questions he threw at me, I answered smoothly ;) I think the job is 90% secured, just left the HR to call me about the package, I get the exact same positive vibes as the "Interview 1" from last year . Nice, feels really good about this, been a long time since I felt this rush of excitement, tbh I've been dead inside after rejoining my company last year, a word of advise again, what made you leave in the first place will still make you leave again.
