My last post was that wife going for her heart surgery, been about 8 months since then. Reason why I didn't post as much was because a lot of things going on, new job, baby just finished surgery, key collection for BTO, wife's surgery, sell resale flat, move house. But now ok, everything settled, should have more time to post my ramblings. Also thinking of going for a holiday, long time never travel, but recently got earthquake, don't know should visit wife's hometown or not. New job Compared to last job, travelling time much longer, have duty roster for 24x7 standby, a lot of things to pick up, good thing is my past experience helps a lot so most of the work is not difficult, just at worst tedious. Benefits not bad, even my wife and daughter's specialist visits all can claim, only thing cannot claim is their surgery due to pre-existing condition, weird right. Not sure if blogging is still a thing these days, I started out wanting to share my journey of a Singaporean marrying a foreign lady in Singapore, looking back it has been more than 12 years, how time flies. Now it's more like my personal journal, just keep track of the important stuff that happens in my life, or some events that I am interested in, most probably going to keep updating whenever I have time, when my daughter gets bigger, hopefully she can somehow find this blog haha.

This morning I received an email from Google Adsense saying they detected violations: " In the last 24 hours: New violations were detected . As a result, ad serving has been restricted or disabled on pages where these violations of the AdSense Program Policies were found. To resolve the issues, you can either remove the violating content and request a review, or remove the ad code from the violating pages." I went to the Adsense "Policy center" to take a look, seems like somebody reported this blog to contain "Adult content", don't know which idiot did that lol, maybe because I posted the Anchor and Mirror protocol phishing warnings? Anyway I clicked the "Request Review", after some time, I think the Adsense team did a review and didn't find anything wrong this blog so now when I go back to the "Policy center", it shows "No current issues", that was fast.

Been quite some time since my last post, 2022 is a busy start, with my daughter going P1, also busy at work because of cutting over a new project in Jan and clearing sh**, and also busy learning more about cryptocurrency ever since I got started back in Dec 2021 . I'm so glad I got started with cryptocurrency again, because after deep diving into it, I was shocked by how much the ecosystem have grown since my first experience playing with bitcoin back when it first started, I think it was 2009, can't remember exactly but I remember downloading the bitcoin wallet and did some mining, the wallet don't know throw where already, can't remember if I mined anything. At that time the idea of cryptocurrency was kind of crazy and out of this world, didn't think it would go any further so I didn't get too deep into it. Anyway I throw letter already, with Web3 already here, Web2 technology is a waste of time, I planning to spend 1-2 months resting and diving even deeper in...

Just noticed the requirement to submit US tax information to Google, which is required by their IRS. Looks like they are going to collect 30% of my Adsense earnings? My earnings is not much so 30% of S$150.53 is S$45.15? I think it is right for them to collect, just wondering how come they didn't collect all this time, I received a few payments from Google but it wasn't taxed, not sure if they will tax retrospectively though, then I probably won't get any payment, might even need to pay them the shortfall through future earnings or something. My previous theme feels kind of lacking, not sure where to start but it doesn't feel right. So today I decided to try another theme, this flowery one looks nicer, more pleasant, even the mobile mode looks cool. Anyway if you are wondering which theme I used, it's the middle one under "Contempo". Looks really nice.

Source Yesterday wanted to refresh my blog template because getting so outdated, these days responsive web design is the in thing, at least for SG it is getting more common. SG is quite slow on this aspect, actually responsive web design is not something new, just that SG is slow, you can see some government sites are still non-responsive. Anyway found that blogger have some new themes and they are responsive. In case you don't know what is responsive, it means that your site can automatically adjust itself to fit into your display device, be it desktop monitor, laptop screen or even tablet and smartphone so that your site will look nicer and cool.

It's because of the read more script, I think the author took down his site which hosted the script so my blog can't find the script and load until timeout. I have commented off the script, now should be much faster.

Wife and baby early next month then come back, stay alone really cannot take it, so lonely. Go work come home only me, watch movie, watch youtube also sian. Been family man so long, now also no friend to jio out, guess they also have their own stuff to manage. Most of my friends also married and have children, think want to meet up also not easy. Last time stay parents house still not that bad, now have my own house so quiet, have baby run around really different.

Recently so busy with work, with course, with family, with playing games, at least playing games helps to take the stress away, playing with baby too. But I think best is still to go out with family, go for stroll the best, enjoy the scenery, the cool breeze, beautiful Singapore. Now baby big, can run, very curious everything also want to touch, now can say 123 ABC, also say quite a few words, cow, nana (banana), cat, no and several other words, learning fast I guess. By the way wife and baby going back to Thailand this coming Songkran, I wanted to go but now I'm trying to avoid taking leave, last year bonus very bad, this year I want to improve, part of my organization KPI is actually to maintain productivity, they measure this by looking at how many days I'm away, MC, annual leave, childcare leave, I guess even NS leave, can say not fair but well, that is the harsh reality.

Source Somebody told me delivery riders earn more than me, I'm not surprised but I am curious to know how much. Sounds like very good money, Foodpanda have this page which shows their compensation: But is it easy money? Let's see. So every hour the rider gets paid at least $9 regardless of any delivery made. That's already not bad. So how many deliveries can a rider make in an hour? 1 is expected, 1 hour for one delivery. 2 is reasonable, 30 minutes for each delivery. 3 is you got to be fast, 20 minutes for each delivery. 4 is you got to be super fast, 15 minutes for each delivery. 5 and above I think it's just plain luck to be able to make it happen or you can teleport or you are the only rider on the road and there is no such thing as traffic light and the sky never rains. 2 hours break. 9 hours work. 30 days work. Rider 1 who earns $9 per hour = 9 * 9 * 30 = $2430 Rider 2 who earns $9.5 per hour by delivering only in CBD = 9.5 * 9 * 30 = $256...

Recently I noticed increased earnings from my Adsense, seems like my visitors have been supporting me well, so thanks everyone for the support, I will continue to update this blog regularly so that hopefully my experiences can help people. Looking back, it's been a long way, phew, so many things have happened since I started this blog 4 years ago, thankfully, most have been for the better so I am very glad.

This year is a very busy year for me, now my boss gives me more responsibilities, I think I can still manage as long as I have people to help me, luckily I have a very capable colleague from China, he is a very nice guy, very knowledgeable and experienced, I think he is around my age, I can always count on him to share my workload, we need more people like him, the best part is he is always willing to share and solve the problem, and also he can think of the bigger picture, some people just too focused on solving the current problem without considering the impact. I've had some terrible colleagues, boss give them work to do in the end I have to help them lol, basket, instead of sharing my workload they give me more work. Now that I think of it, I feel a little underpaid, since I'm doing so much shit now, I think my boss should pay me more, last year I was thinking I was overpaid because I didn't have too much to do, this year different, I hope in the next performance revi...
