The Neighbour Above Really a Family of Inconsiderate Assholes

Bloody hell, which kid still run around and laugh loudly at 3am? Which family still talk loudly and laugh at 3am? Really fed up man, these people no need to school, no need to work? 3am is their normal hours? Are they vampires??? And their aircon really super noisy, like the plane engine, how did they even put up with it, or maybe they are deaf? By the way I bought 2 sets of earplugs, one for me and one for my wife, cannot fully block out the noise but at least better than nothing. You can say I'm evil but to be honest, I really hope their aircon explode and burn down their house. And I'm very curious, how come daytime they are at home, nighttime also at home, no need to work at all??? And the kid, so late still haven't sleep, don't say school holiday, even normal school days also can run around at 2-3am, really a family of weirdos.

These People Really Kings and Queens of Act Blur

Just now me and wife went to IKEA for shopping, ended up only bought a packet of scented candles for $4.90. We are thinking of getting a new cupboard but problem is nobody to carry for us, the delivery is so expensive, maybe wait until my father have time then we buy. So after the shopping, we took a bus home, we went to the bus stop, it was quite packed, nobody bothered to give her a seat, everyone just acted like they never see her, never mind, stand a bit is okay for us. After a while, there were two vacant seats, my wife signaled for me to go but I signaled back for her to go ahead as I don't mind standing, so she went over, then this couple, quickly went to take the seats, like that also can, they saw my wife walking over and they just sat down and ignored her, sigh, these people really jia lat. There is something very wrong with our culture, locals and foreigners alike, I wonder who started all these bad behaviours, as a human being, when you see someone in need, will you

Holidays Over, Back to Work!

The 4.5 days of holiday are over, now it's back to work, so busy, this year have so many things to do, but that is good thing because it means that company is doing well so this year bonus and increment should be not bad. This year budget also announced, seems like government is trying to help out the SMEs, by delaying the increase of foreign worker's levy I think it will help a lot, nowadays foreign workers also not that cheap anymore, but I find it strange why government increase the levy on those less attractive jobs such as construction work, seriously how many locals are willing to do that job, educated ones will go white-collar, lower educated ones will probably go for sales or retail, construction work is so tough, where else can they get their workforce if not for foreign workers, so why government increase their levy, lol don't understand. Anyway this year budget I think middle-income won't get much, will get help in other ways but surely no cash money but

Crazy Woman Scolded My Wife Stupid

Today half-day work so I went to Sheng Siong with my wife to stock up some food and buy an electric steamboat for tonight's dinner. Today they open until 3pm and will reopen on this Saturday at 7am, by 2.30pm they already cleared most of their fresh food so everyone thought it's all sold out, so everyone was rushing to buy things, but most people were probably there for the aircon, walk around never buy anything, one uncle best, he looks like in a rush, rush here and there, saw him so many times but end up he didn't buy anything lol. So after grabbing our stuff, which we slowly did, no point rushing, not as if they will chase us out once the clock hits 3pm, these people really super kan cheong, don't know rush what, don't get it, anyway we went to a counter to settle the bill, very long queue, we switched to another lane then my wife came to tell me but before she could finish, I heard someone saying stupid behind me, so I turned around and saw one auntie, she qui

New Year New Hope!

Happy New Year! Looking forward to my baby this year, due date is 15 Jun, I hope everything goes smoothly. I also hope that this year can get a good increment and bonus, and also can excel at work, maybe get a promotion.

Time Sure Flies!

One year is going to pass in a few days time, this year seems to be good for me, wife pregnant again, got a good salary increment, bonus also decent, bought a new house, did a simple renovation without spending a bomb, have some savings, so far so good, by the way wife is 15 weeks pregnant now, doing fine so far, as usual, the nausea, tiredness and etc, hopefully nothing unusual, we are really looking forward to seeing this baby. And Happy New Year to everyone!

Merry Christmas Everyone!

One year is going to pass soon, so fast, and today's weather is 26 degrees, cold for our country, still haven't decide where to go, maybe just go somewhere near as wife is pregnant and feel tired all the time.

See This Uncle All The Time

My earlier post . I keep seeing this same uncle, nowadays he hang around at my workplace or the MRT station, every time I see him he just squat or stand down there staring at people or looking at me, expecting me to spare him something, bloody hell I won't even give him 10 cent, so free can stay there and do nothing, why not go get a job, not as if he is handicapped, maybe he is sick but how come he can still smoke, just now saw him smoking. Not that I lack compassion but I am the type of person who strongly believes in working for what I want, there is no free lunch and money won't drop from the sky, if I want something I will work hard for it and that is what I am going to teach my children so when people come up to me and ask for free things, maybe I will give once or twice, ask again and I will ignore, cannot let them think that it's so easy getting things without working for it. Nowadays youngsters also the same, parents over-pampered them, giving them whatever t

Deepavali on 22 October 2014

I keep having the impression that it's on 23 October, maybe because of the hardcopy calendars, and only today when my colleague told me it's Wednesday then I realized that it falls on 22nd. Good, made me a bit happy since after tomorrow I can take a rest again ;) Thinking of rest my holiday trip is coming soon, be flying on 31st October, looking forward to it, time to take a well-deserved break.

Encountered Two Outbursts of Anger in One Day!

Man Vs. hawker centre cleaner I was eating with my wife at Chinatown Complex when this man and his girlfriend or wife came to the table behind us, the man looks like he is in his early or mid 30s, the table was packed with plates and trays and he called out to the cleaner uncle to clean it, he sounded ok, not rude but the uncle responded in an unhappy tone and told him to wait, then this man shouted at the uncle and asked him if he was trying to find trouble, and then they started arguing, after that the man went to buy his food while his partner sat down. After the uncle finished with the other tables he came to clean the man's table, he complained to the man's partner and said he was busy, how come the man cannot wait, then the man came back and yelled at the uncle and told him to shut up and get lost, the uncle kept quiet and continued with his job. Foreigner auntie Vs. uncle While aboard the train to Farrer Park, one Chinese auntie started screaming at one uncle who i

Woman Relieves Herself in Public

Source Wow, seems like she took a dump, in public, and at the MRT station! It's getting worse, the last news that I read about such incident was a young boy pissing into a bottle on the train, are these people mad or what, we are not living in the jungle, you don't shit or piss wherever you like, not in public view, at least take cover, find somewhere isolated, shit or piss onto grass patch, it will be useful as fertilizer, but this woman is the ultimate, she outright shits on the floor, so who is going to clean up after her, at least the boy pissed into a bottle.

Singapore's 49th Birthday

I didn't know it was our 49th birthday until I Googled lol, every year pass by so peacefully that our National Day seems just like any other day, most years I don't even watch the parade, not even on TV, yeah we have had some scares in recent years, SARS, financial crisis, terrorism, Nicole highway collapse and etc but nothing our ministries cannot handle, to be honest I find our ministries very efficient and effective, yeah some policies are crap but our ministries are always open to feedback from the public, and they actually do something about it, which is a good thing, how many countries out there bother to listen to what you say and then do something about it? Anyway when was our last military conflict, none after World War II, we have enjoyed a long period of peace, some scares here and there but nothing catastrophic, I think it's easy for me to say now that I am a reservist but I feel that military service is very important, as an NSF if you ask me whether NS means

2014 Hungry Ghost Festival

Just now my father dropped by with a package of offerings for the spirits, it's a combination of hell bank notes, Yuan Bao (Sycee), joss sticks and red candles, personally I don't believe but my father say regardless of whether I believe or not, no harm doing the offering. So me and wife went downstairs our HDB block, there is an open grass patch and there are two containers for people to burn the offerings, I think the spirits can only receive it after we burn it or something like that. By the way, according to the Lunar calendar, today is the first day of 7th month, 10 Aug is the 15th of 7th month, 15th is the day when the gates of hell open, so I think we are making an offering in advance. Then just now when we were at the container, one Ah Ma was preparing her stuff, my wife kicked off the burning by dropping in the Yuan Bao, and the Ah Ma was mumbling and looking at us, heard from my father that she was speaking in Hainanese, we are Hokkiens so we have no idea what she w

Getting Annoyed with People Who Ask for (Free) Things

The day before there was this auntie, I think she was around 50 or 60+, when I was crossing the road she tried to intercept me but just nice my wife called me so I answered and then I crossed the road and headed to my HDB lift, I think she chased after me and as I entered the lift, another guy also entered the lift, then she appeared outside the lift and told both of us that she doesn't have money to buy medicine, the guy told her that he did not bring any money and before the auntie could react, the lift door closed and she walked away. Then this morning I saw her again, this time she was carrying two plastic bags, I think it was groceries, very strange. Today I met one uncle that I saw a few weeks ago at my workplace area, that time he told me he was in difficulties, what difficulties he never say, anyway he asked for a cigarette so I gave him one, today he saw me again and he asked me for a cigarette again, I totally ignored him, I was thinking how come he doesn't find a j

Why People Like to Put Bag on The Seat?

Just now when I took a bus home, it was a double-decked bus, bottom was packed so I moved upstairs, first thing I saw when I went up, I saw this uncle sitting and he placed his bag on the empty seat beside him, never mind so I turned and looked to other seats, then I saw one office woman also doing the same, so I looked elsewhere, at least 2 or 3 more person also doing that, alamak, why like that, they just looked elsewhere and ignored my existence, damn it, like that also can, then I felt so disgusted and I just went downstairs, give me I also don't feel like sitting with them. Then as I stood downstairs, I thought of the ugly things that people here do, chopping tables with packets of tissue or umbrella, really, I see that all the time at food centres, I know it's easier because everybody can go buy food, but does that feel right to you? I think the worst are litterbugs, just look at my void deck, tissues, candy wrappings, empty soda cans, empty food packing, empty instan

Take Taxi Also Cut Queue

Just now after work when I was on my way to the train station, I saw quite a long queue at the taxi stand, there were this two women, they are foreigners by the way, sounded like Filipinos and they came out from the same building as me, office wear, I think they work there, I walked faster so I ended up at the taxi stand ahead of them, as usual, I took a puff before entering the station, finally when they caught up, just nice a Comfort taxi with green light came, green means available, and they walked towards the taxi, one lady in the queue called out to them that the queue is behind, they didn't care and blatantly boarded the taxi, they even smiled while doing so, can't believe they did that in front of so many people, first time I saw something like this. I know Singaporeans cut queue too, particularly aunties always like to act blur and step in front of me, never mind, I let them go first, I take it as they are ignorant so no need to start an argument over who came first,

79 Year Old Man Collecting Medicine

Just now when I was hiding in one corner smoking with a co-worker, an old man approached us, he seemed lost so I asked him where he was going, he said he wants to collect medicine, so I asked for his prescription to see if there was any address, then he said he was told to collect at SGH block 4, immediately I knew it was the retail pharmacy as I have been there several times during my wife's pregnancy last year. So I pointed him to the correct direction, and while doing that, I noticed that he had difficult walking, his pace was really slow and I was worried he might end up at the wrong place so I told him to wait for me to smoke finish and then I'll bring him there. So while walking we chatted a bit, I asked whether he came alone and he said yes, then I asked where his children were, he paused for a while and told me they were busy with their life or work, didn't hear clearly, and he sounded like a Teochew, I can tell because my grandmother is a Teochew, I also asked wh

Why Do Smokers Knock (or Pack) on a New Pack of Cigarettes?

I bet you have seen it so many times and you have no idea why they did it, as a smoker myself I can tell you there is no benefit to knocking unless you are talking about a pack which has been opened for a while, and as you carry on with your daily activities, the tobacco on each stick becomes loose so you need to knock on each individual stick before lighting up to bring the tobacco together, and that's in order to get the best smoking experience. As for new pack, there is no need to knock because the pack itself is airtight and is very compact, even if you move around, it won't become loose, in fact the act of knocking actually causes the tobacco to drop off, if you don't believe, check the inside of your empty pack and you will see plenty of loose tobacco at the bottom, in my pack, there's hardly any loose tobacco because I don't knock, so you see knocking is a waste of tobacco. So why do they do it anyway? Well, when I started smoking at 13 years old, I knock b

Songkran in Singapore?

Source Haha, and it's going to be a dry Songkran, what the hell, according to my wife, splashing water brings luck and washes away bad things, now what would a dry Songkran mean? And the dates don't tally, Songkran is from 13 Apr to 15 Apr, this dry Songkran is 12 Apr to 13 Apr, what the hell again? I know there is a dry spell in Singapore recently, so I think they might as well cancel the thing, at least they only disappoint the participants rather than make everyone unhappy because there will be the environmentalists saying what a waste of water while people like me will say what's a water festival without water. And even if they run a water Songkran, don't think I will participate, the feeling is just different, you cannot replicate that kind of culture here in Singapore, no way, everything here is too controlled, if you think you can drive a truck with a huge barrel of water and go around splashing everyone you see, sorry no, it will never happen in Singapore,

Sigh, Feel That I have Lost My Smile

Long long ago when I just finished NS, I was so full of hope for the future, I had so much energy, I felt so motivated, but after hanging around in the "system" for nearly a decade, everyday seems to be so repetitive, wake up, go to work, lunch with colleagues, come home, eat, shower, see movie, sleep, repeat, all for what? Money to pay bills and in order to be able to keep paying my bills, I have to keep the cycle going, sigh, sometimes I feel like throwing everything aside, don't give a shit about anything or anyone, just buy a ticket and fly to Thailand with my wife. Unfortunately, "I can't afford to do that", which will also be what most people here will say, seriously, we are all "stuck" in the system, well unless you are filthy rich then it doesn't matter to you. Sometimes I really envy those people who are born rich, they don't have to do anything, they don't have to be wary, everything falls in place for them anyway, people li
