$3.50 Kway Chap

Image
Today nothing better to do so decided to just get out for a walk, then walk until the Tiong Bahru Food Centre, I think walked for slightly over one hour. But well worth it, ordered this cheap $3.50 kway chap, soup is really nice, hawker food is the best!

$3.50 Wanton Noodle and $3.50 Shrimp Wanton Soup

Image
Cheap and good hawker food for breakfast. I love hawker food, the best in Singapore.

Nene Chicken for Dinner

Image
Standard like drop, the chicken not very fresh, good things never last, so true.

Big Fish Small Fish

Image
First time try this, serving kind of small, but the Barramudi fish and chips is quite ok, the fish very meaty, chips is actually potato chips. The fish and chip is one set, I open and pour together with the spaghetti and chicken chop, you see still like so little lol. Try once is enough.

Instant Noodles Again!

Image
Wife and baby went to Thailand yesterday, now I home alone, come back home don't know what to eat just cook noodles. One person very easy, anything works.

Instant Noodles Still Pretty Good

Image
Maggi curry, some veggies, luncheon meat and two eggs, also added two slices of cheese, not bad.

Canned Soft Drink Lose Fizz Slower?

Fizzy drinks are great but when the fizz is almost gone, the experience is much less enjoyable. Take coca cola as example, I notice that the 1.5L bottle tend to lose a lot of fizz just over one night, but for canned version even without sealing it and leaving it overnight in the fridge, the fizz is still almost the same. I'm guessing that aluminium seems to be able to "trap" gas better than plastic bottle.

Simple Dinner

Image
Luncheon meat, egg and veggies. Luncheon goes really well with rice especially fried rice.

This Two Wings Really Bastard

Image
Their website stated pay $3 more to get a side dish and a drink, so I paid the premium and ordered two sets from foodpanda, end up the sides never arrive, so I paid an additional $6 just for two soft drinks, wtf. Then report to foodpanda they say cannot reach the store, so they processed a refund for the $6 with cash voucher + 10%, so it's like $6.60 refund. Knn $6.60 to ruin my mood. Then see the chicken wing even more du lan, knn it's actually one chicken wing cut into two pieces then count as two pieces, like that also can. I cut a $1.80 popiah into two pieces and sell each piece for $1.80 can? Knn this kind of bastard tactics. Local company some more, owner also look like local some more, wah, this kind of local crooked shop should shut down like right now. Eh but seriously, maybe I should consider open a popiah store, then I sell on foodpanda, I put One Piece $1, then someone see wah so cheap and order 5 pieces, when deliver to house open up wah really 5 pieces

"Bee Bee" Snack

Image
Found this snack at Sheng Siong, long time never see this, used to eat it a lot when I was a kid back in the 1990s. I remember last time one packet was $0.10, most if not all mama stores will sell. This snack is really tasty but a bit spicy. There is also a blue version which is very rare, only bought it once, the blue one is also very good.

Mac N Cheese Zinger

Image
Just tried this for dinner, the mac & cheese bun is really disgusting and super oily, I think even more oily than the fried chicken! Such a bad idea, wonder if the person who designed this burger actually tried it. I think you are better off just ordering the normal zinger which is more balanced with veggies and much less oily.

Simple Company CNY Lunch

Image
Veggie is good, the rest is alright, fried rice a bit lacking though.

Indian Food for Lunch

Image
Went to Brinda's, prata still nice, briyani also nice, also bought a bunch of crackers, their crackers also nice.

Ichiban Sushi, Still Ok

Image
The Ten Don standard drop, instead of crispy tempura ended up with soft tempura, only the prawn and fish tempura were soft, the veggies at least still crispy, think the chef forgot to dry the prawn and fish before he fry it. The cereal karaage still great though, serving size is considered generous, crispy and fragrant.

New KFC Chicken

Image
The new parmesan truffle chicken is actually the hot and spicy chicken, they just put some cheese on top, whereas truffle I can't really tell, anyway it is really good, I think it's better than the salted egg version. Also got the big BBQ drumstick for $1.50 thanks to promotion. And some cucumber to go with the chicken.

$4 Chicken Rice @ Jackson Square

Cheap and good!

$3 Wanton Mee @ Commonwealth Crescent Market & Food Centre

Image
This delicious plate of wanton mee only $3, cheap and good, hawker food is the best. My wife had a plate of economical rice one meat two veggies only $2.70. I think that this kind of real hawker centre is very precious and important to everyone, it offers cheap and good food to residents, it cannot disappear, can't imagine one day all these are gone and replaced by those fake social enterprises. Why is our government allowing fake social enterprises to operate I really have no idea, if they are out to make money as with any business, fine, just don't carry the name social enterprise.

Chef Kang’s $5 Michelin Star Wanton Noodle @ Jackson Square

Image
This morning went for smoke break, just happened that no queue so thought might as well have an early lunch and find out why people willing to queue so long for such a simple dish. After eating, I think the noodle, the char siew, the lard, the wanton, the soup, the chilli all very different from the normal wanton noodle. The char siew is the fatty type, well bbq and even a bit crispy and very fragrant. The noodle I think some special noodles, very thin but I still like the normal noodles. The lard no need to say, lard is always good. Then wanton is special, two big wantons, inside have quite a few ingredients, got prawn also, I think they also put some sort of crispy dried fish very small bits. Soup also nice, not the ajinomoto type. Chilli also good stuff, not spicy and have dried prawns. Overall $5 definitely worth it, long queue forget it, worth the star or not I don't know how they award so no comment, but the quality is way above the usual wanton noodles, worth trying. If

Daessiksin @ The Clementi Mall Again

Image
Today go eat again, see the glorious food!

Ichiban Sushi @ The Clementi Mall

Image
Personally I think this is my favourite Japanese restaurant, the cereal fried chicken is great and for $7.90 the serving is big, don't mind the picture I ate a few pieces then took picture. Then they have this new Tendon which is a bowl of rice with soya sauce and fried stuff, $13.90. I remember I ate Tendon at some other place one bowl $20+ and portion smaller than this.
