Went to VivoCity

Image
Today super packed since noon, plus the rain even more packed, wanted to go explore Sentosa but started raining. Anyway today tried the cakes at Secret Recipe, not bad, the banana milkshake is good. Dinner ate at Crystal Jade Jiang Nan, tried the mini Pen Cai, damn power, $43.80 before charges, totally worth it, have mini abalones, chicken, pork, fish maw, mushrooms, yam, radish, broccoli, prawns, scallops, and the sauce super power.

2 More Days to New Year

Image
Went to Marina Square again, had lunch at Bao Today, the stewed pork rice and century egg porridge not bad, but the curry chicken still the best for main dish. Pork ball soup also not bad, have prawn. Spring roll also ok. Today went to buy some clothes for baby, also covered the entire mall I guess. Wanted to go outside walk but rain, now almost everyday raining, very difficult to go outdoors.

Merry Christmas!

Image
Today wanted to bring wife and baby to see night lights at Gardens by the Bay but ended up raining until 7+ so never go, from Marina Square walked until MBS, then walked back to Marina Square. The MBS so damn crowded, so many foreign workers, today holiday everyone come out to walk. Also walked to the Merlion, also damn packed, I think 99% foreign workers or tourists, wah piang eh, I'm probably the only Singaporean there lol. Anyway lunch we ate at Bao Today at Marina Square, dinner also ate there, shows that the food really good except the bao, the dim sum is good, most power is the curry chicken. Just joking, actually dinner wanted to try Pu Tien or Dian Xiao Er but the queue too long, day time literally no people evening time suddenly so packed, really crazy extreme.

Went to Marina Square Again!

Image
Today went to try Bao Today at Marina Square, the food was awesome, the chicken curry was incredible, very thick gravy, goes very well with the rice, if have bread even better. After that walked to Suntec, long time never go, last time I worked there for a while, plenty of food choices for lunch.

Went to Marina Square

Image
I think this must be the best shopping mall in Singapore, no crowd, good variety, easily accessible, no queue at taxi stand, seats for when you are tired, toilets easily available, after that can even go tour the beautiful marina area. Had lunch at Sakae, they changed menu, some favourite items are missing from the new menu such as takoyaki. The rice today is hard, so instead of sushi we ordered other stuff. Now the beans become pink plate, last time is just normal coloured plate, increase price. The restaurant so quiet, from my view just 2-3 tables seated, like that how to survive. But at least the karaage chicken is good, the salmon skin also good. After that we went to Emporium Shokuhin, it's a Japanese supermarket but the key feature is the live seafood, damn power, if you want to buy fresh oyster or even alaskan king crab, this is the place to go. They also have crabs, huge crabs.

Bought a Chair Cushion at IKEA

Image
One of the wheels on my office chair came off so I decided to throw the chair away, also because it is squeaky and wife is always complaining lol. So I end up using my dinner chair as my work chair, but it was very uncomfortable because there was no cushion, so instead of spending more money to get a new chair I thought might as well just get a cushion. Cheap and good! Only $4.90, problem solved!

My Grocery Trolley!

This is what our weekly shopping looks like: Full of groceries!

Went to JCube, Westgate and JEM

Today I brought my wife to dine at The Manhattan Fish Market @ JCube, been wanting to try their dishes as it looks so yummy in the leaflet. So I orderd the Fishy Chicky Bang Bang, my wife ordered the Curry Hill Seafood Slipper Lobster version, we also ordered a Volcano Mussels and a Oyster Roulette. For drinks I ordered a coke, my wife a chocolate milkshake. I really enjoyed the Oyster Roulette, it comes in 4 shot glass servings, each glass contains a whole piece of oyster with tangy chili sauce and a small slice of lemon, damn shiok, but it's quite expensive, 4 oysters for $7.95. Overall the food is nice but servings are kind of small, the meal costed $66.53 including service charge and GST, not bad la, but damn noisy place and so crowded, maybe because today is a holiday. I remember there used to be a Jurong Entertainment Park or Jurong Leisure Park, forgot the name, always have those ah bengs hanging around there. The building is gone now, I think it was a very long

Bought a New TV!

Today we went shopping at Mustafa Centre, our LCD TV became faulty, the colours are gone and left with only white, have sound but no picture, all white, this TV served me well since 2008, more than 6 years, that time I bought it for $1399, it's a 32 inch Samsung LCD TV, actually I bought it just for my Playstation 3, that time really bought it all at whim, never thought about saving money, spent about $2k+ just for console gaming, now that I think of it, what a waste of money, but the TV remained useful throughout while I sold my PS3 at $200+, and I bought it at $700+, really stupid. I bought my 32 inch at Mustafa too, and it's been more than 6 years since I visited Mustafa, their variety of products are still as overwhelming as before, makes my giddy, but the crowd seems to have reduced a lot, last time I also went on a weekend, ultra packed, today the crowd was okay. Anyway we went straight to B2 to look at their TVs, nowadays the TV pricing is so much lower, the 32 inches

Qoo10 Auction Looks Promising

After I bought my chin-up bar, there was an option to give feedback after which they will give you some points, and from there I realized that they have this daily lucky draw, you just need to log in, click on the Open button, and then Q-chance. It's a wheel of fortune style kind of lucky draw, everyday you get to draw once, and after every purchase you also get to draw once. I still haven't fully figure out what I can do with the stuff there but I learned that I can bid for items using the green, silver and gold mameq, but so far I haven't won anything but the beauty of it is that it's not difficult to get the mameq, just log in daily and click the lucky draw and then try your luck in bidding.

Finally Received My Chin Up Bar from Qoo10

Image
I bought on 11 Jul and I received today on 15 Jul, delivery time not so bad, the product is what I expected, but looks a bit like second-hand lol but most important is that it is cheap and serves the purpose, looks doesn't really matter that much to me, only $13.89, cheap and good. Packaging Installation was a bit challenging, forgot how I did it for my previous chin up bar but anyway I got my wife to twist for me while I hold on, got to adjust so it doesn't look crooked. After Installation I think the same bar should be sold at around $20+ if you get it anywhere else, $30+ also have but I find it pointless.

Bought My First Item from Qoo10

Image
My father didn't manage to remove the chin-up bar from my old room, he said it's too tight, I think it's because when I installed it I turned it too hard to make sure it doesn't give way. And now that I think of it, I have been using that bar for almost 10 years, too bad I can't bring it to my new home, but never mind, I have ordered a new one from Qoo10, can't remember how much I paid for my old one but this new one seems to be the cheapest I can find online. The bar itself is only $9.90 (after discounts), delivery is $3.99 so total is $13.89, not bad right. Qoo10 - NEW HEAVY DUTY FITNESS EXERCISE DOORWAY CHIN PULL UP BAR HOME GYM : Sports / Outdoors There are also other fancy looking bars and they only cost a little bit more but to me a chin-up bar is just for exercise, whack and move on, no need to look cool or what and I'm doing it at home so who cares, just get the cheapest will do as long as it serves my purpose, anyway a chrome one also loo

Did Some Christmas Shopping Today

Went to Tampines Mall and Century Square, bought myself a leather belt for $19 (originally $59), 2 short sleeve shirts for $37.80 (at 20% discount) and a very durable looking shoes for $49 (also 20% discount), quite a good deal. The guy selling shoes kept recommending me those $99-$100+ shoes but I told him I'm looking for durability since my shoes keep holing at the bottom, I'm a rough guy who can't walk slowly and gently so I need something strong enough to withstand the friction from my quick pace, or at least capable of lasting for more than 3 months, my shoes usually last maximum 3 months, by 2 months one hole will start to appear below the big toe area, 3 months onwards it will open mouth, those who experienced it will know what I'm saying. My wife got herself a new bag for $69, original price I think was $89 or $99. We also had a meal at Bali Thai, the food was alright but serving was small, my wife had steamed rice with beef fried with basil leaves and chi
