Toilet Auntie at My Workplace

Usually toilet aunties are very nice but I have this particularly annoying auntie at my workplace, I think she hates me but I don't know why, I didn't do anything to offend her, I don't even talk to her, we hardly interact at all so I really have no idea why she seems to hate me. You can say I'm sensitive but let me share with you why I think she hates me. Every morning I will go to the pantry to fill up my water bottle, she will be sitting at one corner reading newspaper, I don't look at her or do anything funny, I just wash my bottle and fill it up, then she will start mumbling in Malay, I don't understand Malay so I have no idea what she was saying, I also don't think she was talking to anyone else because we were alone in the room, either she was directing it at me or she was talking to herself, then I turned and looked at her and she continued mumbling and reading the newspaper and looking at me from the corner of her eye, what the hell man, and this ...

My Blog Ranks 3,729,259 on Alexa!

Today while surfing the net, I found this page where there is a list of popular bloggers in Singapore, after going through the list, some I know like mrbrown and xiaxue, they are very famous and now that I think about it, mrbrown has been in the scene for a very long time, I remember listening to his podcast when I was 16 years old, that time I was working at an F&B outlet, when we were free, my team leader will play his podcast and we will listen and laugh together, those were the times. As for xiaxue, I visited her blog about 3 or 4 times just to check out the buzz and I think hers is more of a fashion and beauty blog so not really my taste, but the time when I really paid attention to her is when she commented about Steven Lim, her post titled " Top Seven Most Disgusting Bloggers (In the Singapore blogosphere) " really made me laugh, it's a very old post and it still makes me laugh now. Then for The Heart Truths, Mitsueki, yawningbread, Alvinlogy and ieatisho...

People Who Earn More Than $100K Per Annum

I have been hanging around at salary.sg for a while, particular this thread titled "How much are you earning per annum?" If you briefly go through you'll find that there are plenty of high income earners here in Singapore earning between $100K to $500K per annum and they have multimillion dollars worth of assets. And while you are going through the thread, you'll find that there are people who called these high earners liars, I can only say these high earners are at a different level, we haven't reach there yet so naturally we find it hard to believe. In the past when I was working as a warehouse assistant earning around $1.4K a month after including overtime pay, I met an IT manager who was earning $2.5K a month, I thought that was a lot of money, more than twice my basic salary of $1100, I found it unbelievable. Later I heard that my store manager was earning $3K a month and she received 3 months bonus from the company and I thought that was a lot of money t...

Renovation Plan Changed

Not any major change but instead of getting contractors I don't know, my father said when I get my key, he will go over and take a look and see what needs to be done, he said he can just charge for materials only and exclude labour and that can help me save a lot, sounds like a good idea. He used to be a carpenter, he has a lot of friends in the renovation line, in fact I used to help out with one of his projects. See how it goes, but with him helping me it will be a lot easier, I didn't look for him initially is because I didn't want to bother him, mainly I want to try doing it all by myself. His main concern is that since I am getting my own place, I should try to save as much as possible, he said his 3-room flat is already fully paid while I still have a long way to go so I should try not to spend unnecessarily. See the difference between my father and mother, my father will think for me, my mother will just ask for more money, she doesn't think about how far I hav...

My Credit Card Spending So Far

I received my POSB Everyday card late last month, so far my spending is $ 248.60, all spent on daily necessities, didn't buy anything out of impulse, okay bought one bottle of Old Cask Rum for $32.75 at Sheng Siong but it's mainly for my father to drink, I don't drink that much, until now it's still almost full since we hardly touch it. Also bought several packets of hand-rolled cigarettes since I smoke daily, I will buy it anyway but buying it in bulk at Sheng Siong is cheaper since there is a 5% rebate, the rest spent on food, drinks, shampoo, shower foam etc. The feeling of having credit at my disposal feels good, I mean my credit limit is $18,500, to me it's not a small sum of money, I don't even have that kind of money, I don't even earn that much in a month and yet they allow me to credit that much if I wanted to, I think it's dangerous in the wrong hands, I know of people who will burn all that money in a few days, have a few friends who are the...

Sheng Siong Online Grocery Shop - All For You

Image
Recently while reading up on Sheng Siong, I realized that they are also into e-commerce, you can call it e-shop or as the financial analysts call it e-grocery, whatever, basically consumers can buy groceries online and it will be delivered to their homes. I think they are still testing the idea because from the website, I see only some north areas are available for delivery. Only Some North Areas Available Now let's look at the delivery charges, we compare with the other major players like NTUC, Giant and Cold Storage. Charges Sheng Siong $70 and above Free Below $70 $7 per trip NTUC Above $60 $7 per trip $60 and below $10 per trip Giant S$60.00 and above $7 per trip Less than S$60 $12 per trip Cold Storage S$60.00 and above $7 per trip Less than S$60 $12 per trip Seems like Sheng Siong has the edge, $70 and above comes with free delivery and overall seems like Giant and Cold Storage are the most expensive, and they have the same pricing, not surprising since t...

Take Taxi Also Cut Queue

Just now after work when I was on my way to the train station, I saw quite a long queue at the taxi stand, there were this two women, they are foreigners by the way, sounded like Filipinos and they came out from the same building as me, office wear, I think they work there, I walked faster so I ended up at the taxi stand ahead of them, as usual, I took a puff before entering the station, finally when they caught up, just nice a Comfort taxi with green light came, green means available, and they walked towards the taxi, one lady in the queue called out to them that the queue is behind, they didn't care and blatantly boarded the taxi, they even smiled while doing so, can't believe they did that in front of so many people, first time I saw something like this. I know Singaporeans cut queue too, particularly aunties always like to act blur and step in front of me, never mind, I let them go first, I take it as they are ignorant so no need to start an argument over who came first, ...

Cannot Top-Up POSB Everyday Card EZ-Link at GTM

This morning I tried adding value to my everyday card at the GTM and it doesn't work because when I removed the card from the scanner when it prompted me to insert my ATM card, the transaction was cancelled. I also tried the NETS only kiosk and same problem. In the end I managed to add value through the ATM. By the way GTM means general ticketing machine, it's the machine where you can buy train ticket. Another option is go to the counter and add value by cash. Sounds like my options are limited but actually it's not a big problem, I have to withdraw cash every 2-3 days so when I do that, I top-up my card together.

Request to Charge Starhub Bills to POSB Everyday Card Rejected

Alamak, I didn't read the fine print, because I printed out from the internet so all the words are too small, fine prints even worse, cannot see! Anyway for Starhub, need to attach the original payment slip on the bill, the small little section at the bottom, never attach they won't process the request, think I'll submit later when I receive my bills for this month.

Yeah Finally Linked My POSB Everyday Card to My Bank!

Next time just go to the POSB branch and they can do it immediately, no need to send the request by mail, so troublesome and take such a long time and they rejected it! Reason is because my signature is different from their records, what the heck, isn't it the same? Anyway don't bother mailing, just go down, problem solved. Now I only have one card for transport, for ATM and for credit card, hahaha so convenient.
