Pollutant Standards Index (PSI) Reading Hits the Roof!
This morning when I went to work, I noticed that the haze seems slightly thicker than previous weeks and during lunch time, it got so much thicker. The worst part is when I left my office at around 6.15pm, I felt like I was in the movie "The Mist", the burnt smell in the air is unbearable, there's simply no where to hide.
When I reached home, I checked the PSI Reading and the result was quite shocking.

Look at the 8PM reading, 140! I better stay at home tonight, that kind of haze can kill people. But I keep thinking where in the world did all this smoke come from, did a Google search and found that the culprit is Indonesia, it's a yearly thing, ongoing underground fire keep starting new fire during dry season, and where did the first fire come from? Farmers burning forest to convert more areas for farming, it's a cheap and easy way to clear large areas, obviously, but it also produces a lot of pollution, just look at the skies, can you see anything? No? Then something is very wrong! I wonder why are they even allowed to continue this kind of practice, look at this article, why did their officials waste time with "persuading"? They broke the law, arrest them, if the haze can keep coming back every year, every few months, then obviously somebody didn't do their job.
I know, maybe they were trying to be nice to the farmers, maybe they are not aware of the kind of damage they are doing, but it's been going on for YEARS, the very first time I encountered the haze was in the 90s, come on, after such a long time, why don't they get it? I can tolerate a small haze, but this 140 thing is unacceptable. Furthermore, Malaysia is also affected, how can one country cause so much damage to other countries due to ignorance, or should I say negligence?
Update: More shock, it's now 152! Wow, they sure are having lots of fun right now...
