Time to Change Job

My last post about my current job was last year, from then till now I have been at this job for about 1.5 years, and I'm moving on soon.

The job itself actually is alright and quite meaningful and I really enjoy the work because there is a lot of things I can learn, problem is the manager and lead, outright incompetent and unqualified, what a waste of the team of good people we have, already 3 throw letter and I'm the 4th, more will come, eventually even the useless manager and lead will throw letter too when the project turns into a complete shitshow, I have seen this before, it will happen here too.

Always must have idiots to ruin everything right, sigh.

So before the real shit hits the fan, I thought I better get the hell out first, so last Friday 11th Jul I officially tendered my resignation.

Funny thing is actually I announced my resignation on 4th Jul with the day of notice to be on 11th Jul, at that time didn't plan on getting a job first, thought of taking a 1-2 months break then see how. Then on 4th Jul, same day, evening after shower, saw a missed call from my ex-colleague, I whatsapp him back but he didn't reply, I didn't think much of it.

Then on 5th Jul a Saturday morning, he called me again, this time I managed to pick up, he asked if I'm looking for job or not, I thought yeah why not, so I said yes, then he told me he can recommend a role for me, I said ok and sent him my resume on the following Monday. Afterwards in the same week, he got me an interview with the technical team on Thursday which is 10th Jul. I went through the interview, and it went quite well.

Then today I followed-up with my ex-colleague, he told me likely they will offer, then I'm like ok and thanked him.

I talked to my wife about all these, then she told me the night before my interview, she dreamt of an elephant following her, she told me when Thais dream of elephant, it is a good sign. I asked her if the elephant is chasing or just following her, she said follow not chase, meaning friendly not hostile, so I thought probably sounds like a good sign.

Then you know what else happened on 10th Jul, I also won a S$100 Sheng Siong lucky draw.

Seems like this job change is fated.
