Still Don't Get Those Mukbang Videos

Image
According to Wikipedia , "Mukbang" means eating show or in practical words it means sitting in front of a video camera with a lot of food, then eat and talk to the video camera at the same time. A mukbang (Korean: [mÊŒk̚.p͈aÅ‹] (About this soundlisten), also known as an eating show) is an online audiovisual broadcast in which a host consumes various quantities of food while interacting with the audience. It became popular in South Korea in 2010, and since then has become a huge worldwide trend. Varieties of foods, ranging from pizza to noodles, are consumed in front of a camera. This genre of video seems to have become wildly popular in these few years, I don't think it even exist back before 2010, after that it just spread like wildfire, Americans caught on, China caught on, heck even Singaporeans caught on, now you have normal people just piling up mountains of food in front of the video camera, and then just eat and eat, most of the time I just wonder if they can actuall

Foodpanda Delivery Fee Went Up?

Image
Even McDonald's is S$4.49, if you order from Mc directly it's actually S$4, doesn't make any sense for Foodpanda to charge higher than Mc.

Getting Quite Obsessed with Monster Drinks

Image
The monster series of drinks arrived in Singapore for quite a long time already, but it's only in recent days that I finally tried one. The very first that I tried was the Mango Loco, got a real nice fruity flavour and good carbonated kick to it, a bit expensive though, one can for S$2.45. After this, I went and bought the green one which tastes like Red Bull but less overpowering, and the white one which I find alright, and a Khaos which is nice and big can. I think I still like the Mango Loco. I don't really like Red Bull, taste is too overpowering for me, super duper sweet.

Ichiban Sushi Still Good

Image
The food is still great, standard never drop, I like the cereal chicken, decent serving size and very crispy. My wife had the tofu with beef and miso, taste really good.

Menya Musashi 04 Oct 2019

Image
I added 2 more half eggs for only $1.00 i.e. $0.50 each. This is good, and one more good thing is the price shown on the ipad is already inclusive of the service charge and GST so what you see is what you pay, more shops should adopt this.

Ajisen Ramen 22 Sep 2019

Image
Taste good, the crispy garlic makes the soup tastier. But one thing is the bill shown on the ipad is before service charge and GST so just be aware. Good food though.

McDonald's White Chocolate Strawberry Pie

Taste very oily, and totally don't look as advertised, one piece for $1.50. Previously they have this chocolate pie also kind of oily. I think the apple pie still the best, crispy and full of filling and don't taste so oily.

Lee Fun Nam Kee - Soya Sauce Chicken Rice

Image
Yesterday went to try this stall, good thing they open on National Day, just trying my luck, well worth the trip, the soya sauce chicken is amazing. A bit pricy but I think it's very good so don't matter much. Forgot to take photo of the dumpling soup though, soup is ok, dumplings were nice. The rice also the defined type not mushy type which suits my palate. Must try. They open at 11 AM. 94 Lor 4 Toa Payoh, #01-04, Singapore 310094

Been quite some time since we had a meal at Fish & Co., standard still there, worth revisiting.

Crystal Jade 25 May 2019

Standard still there, I love this roasted chicken, great value and really nice and fragrant. The fried kway teow also very nice.

Ichiban Sushi

Image
I think the set menus are the best, good variety and eat until full. Now I know why this restaurant so popular, usually it will be quite packed.

Kungfu Roast @ IMM Building 12 May 2019

Image
One duck for $18, what a steal, but if want to cut add $1.80 lol, might as well just sell $19.80, who would buy one whole duck and bring home to cut. Anyway even if $19.80 also a steal, normally one whole roast duck is $36-$38.

Sushi Express @ IMM Building 12 May 2019

Image
Still good, fresh ingredients, good variety, seems like they have a few new items. The mochi is really good, with a bit of cream inside, but forgot to take photo. Anyway ate 34 plates @ $1.50 each, total paid about $60 including GST and service charge.

Home-Cooked Thai Noodle

Image
Pretty good, the radish is very nice, soaked in the broth.

Tried Out Deliveroo

Image
A few days ago decided to try out Deliveroo, found that their menu is way bigger than Foodpanda, I guessing Deliveroo may be better at attracting merchants to use their service, I noticed some shops that used to sell on Foodpanda is gone and appears in Deliveroo instead. Anyway my first time went well, I ordered from Old Chang Kee, food was fresh and hot when it arrived, pleasant surprise. I think if this goes on, Foodpanda will close shop soon, their menu is getting worse, delivery standard also not that good, overall standard drop.
