Bought New Kitchen and Kitchen Table (sort of)

So yesterday had a body-aching-day, today not any better.

Went to IKEA and bought SUNNERSTA kitchen (S$223) and FLYTTA kitchen trolley (S$249) which is actually our kitchen table.

The SUNNERSTA has two versions, one is rack + sink, the other is rack + sink + water tap + pipe, I bought the latter.

The assembly of the FLYTTA (S$249) was alright, only tool that they didn't provide is a large cross screw driver, other than that everything else was quite straightforward. Love this trolley-table, I think everybody should just get trolley-tables, so convenient.

The assembly of the SUNNERSTA is seriously wtf, other than a large cross screw driver, also need a pipe cutter, wife went to buy a small hand saw just for this, S$7+. Don't understand why they didn't just pre-cut it, and they didn't say anything about how much to cut, only a picture to give a super rough idea.

And the part (2 piece push together) that attach from the back of the sink to the bottom of the sink, geez spent so much time then realise need to push that part REALLY hard in and make sure it goes all the way in; can see from bottom, it should go all the way down, otherwise it won't fit the middle piece at the bottom.

When I finally got the drainage system assembled, then realise the water pipe too short. Then went to buy a dual male attachment so it can attach to the water tap's pipe and my kitchen water pipe, but when turn on water at the hot side, the water come out from the red tagged pipe, wah faint, the water tap is a dual pipe system, can cold and hot water. I don't have hot water pipe so the red one is useless, but can't leave it dangling.

Best part is my kitchen water pipe is leaking, but lucky I have spare shower water pipes which fits, a bit too long though, 120cm, tomorrow see can buy 60cm or 90cm.

Also need to buy another attachment, need to see if there is 3 way male attachment so I can connect my kitchen water pipe and the new water tap's both cold and hot pipes, if don't have I saw a dual male attachment with a female at the top, so I can reuse the one that I bought, combine into a 3 way male.

So the moral of the story is, if you are going to buy SUNNERSTA with their water tap and pipe, just get them to assemble for you to save yourself hours of whole body ache and running around buying parts. If you are just buying the rack + sink, I suppose you already have someone to install for you since you will need to get your own water tap and pipe.

BUT if you die die have to DIY to save money, please standby a bigger hand saw, small one can cut but quite siong. And also how much to cut, follow the guideline in the manual, cut first see if can fit in, if cannot then cut a bit more, this way you can avoid over-cutting. And the 2 piece part, make sure you push all the way in so it can align with the bottom piece. And the water tap pipe, make sure you measure first, if too short then have to get 3 way male attachment, if need longer water pipe, can use those shower one, works too.

Hope I can finish up tomorrow, wah liew eh, so tiring.
