Got the New Job

So the HR reached out to me last week, overall package seems pretty standard, nothing fantastic or terrible, 14 days annual leave, 14 days medical leave, outpatient and dental claim (with yearly cap), hospital leave (up to 60 days inclusive of the 14 days medical leave), group insurance (exclude dependants), only thing lacking is cannot claim outpatient or dental for dependants, but really it's not an issue, typically those that cover dependants will have a yearly cap anyway. There's a 1 month performance bonus, which is not bad.
The one fantastic part is the pay jump, about ~34%, totally didn't expect that, I thought they would come back and try to negotiate down but they didn't even try, basically I just put in a higher amount as advised by my ex-colleague, and they simply accepted it. I initially thought at most it's a 5-10% jump, honestly didn't know this new role can draw this kind of salary.
Another thing is that it's a 1-year contract, renewable, also possible to join as perm, but who knows what happens 1 year later, maybe I get sian again then move on again, so actually contract is also not bad and not too much difference looking at the benefits, maybe if perm get a few more annual leave, can claim for dependants, get some extra flexible cash benefits, probably that's about it, so really not a huge difference.
I personally think and by my own experience, the most important thing is still the base pay, if high base pay, everything not a problem, if low base pay, hopefully can make up through the benefits, but then typically will have caps here and there.
Also to note that they are hiring me based on my previous job which pays much higher than my current job (where I'm currently serving notice), and new job pays a bit higher than that previous job, but less responsibilities, hope it's not confusing, in a way you can say I'm getting paid more to do less (hopefully), which I find incredible, we'll really have to see.
Anyway, count down to ORD loh (count down to my last day in my current job).
