Baby Finished Surgery

Yesterday daughter admitted to NUH, I took leave to settle the consent for surgery, use my Medisave and ward confirmation, I chose C class, if everything goes well no need to pay cash, if have complication, may need to top-up S$2k+, but it's just estimation at this point. Today I went to work, wife, MIL and nephew at NUH, nephew not allowed to go into the ward because he under 12 years old so he waited at the registration area at level 1, wife and MIL hang around with daughter until about 8:25AM then they moved her into the operating area. Then they waited for 4 hours+ no news so I called the ward to check, then the nurse said someone will call my wife. Around 3PM+, wife said they moved her to new ward and they told her can visit at 4PM. She go try at 4PM they say have to wait. Finally after I finished work, I called the new ward, then they told me can visit, so I went to NUH, went up with my wife, daughter sedated with tubes out of her nose and mouth, and some needles sticking int

Bought Logitech G203 (Black) S$29.90

MIL and Wife's Nephew Coming Over

Daughter will be going for operation this month, so MIL and wife's nephew will be flying over, MIL is here to to give support whereas the nephew is very young, more like coming here to see what it's like in Singapore, hopefully will be good memories when he grows up. This will be second time MIL visit Singapore, first time when she came over was when wife gave birth, second time was when daughter had first operation. Too bad still living in my 2-room resale flat, can't really give proper accomodation, have to sleep in living room, lucky she don't mind and she actually prefers sleeping on the floor, but that's really how she sleeps back in her hometown, no bed, just a pillow and sleep on floor with a mat.

Baby's Heart Operation Most Probably June 2024

So the big doctor went through the story of what happened, why the operation is necessary, why they recommend to do it as soon as possible, what are the risks, how long the operation will take, how long to recover and so forth. My understanding is that the operation is necessary, better to do it while she is young, have to cut down her old scar on her chest, the operation will take around 4 hours if no complication, there is mention of Ross Procedure if the valve is damaged, there are also other possible complications like bleeding and "heart sticking to something", didn't fully catch this part. If all is well, will probably take around 4 weeks for her to recover. I don't have

6 Weeks at New Job

For the 6 weeks, I just surf X, Reddit and check crypto like 90% of the time, the rest is some training, briefing, only today then they started officially assigning a case to me, like really just a single case, anyway I still haven't get my server access so have to share with others, a bit troublesome and also risk locking out other people's account if I'm not careful. Compared to my previous job, the workload here is much lower, simpler and organised, largely because they have the necessary processes in place and well-staffed teams so everybody plays a specific role, no such thing as wearing multiple hats. So far I'm liking this job, after working so many years in multi-hat environment, it's nice to find a job with specific scope, I think when young can chiong multi-hat to gain the experience, then older can work on something more specific and have more bandwidth to share the experience with younger people if they are willing and point them in the right direction s

Singapore is Overcrowded and Smelly

After taking the EWL and NSL and smelling shit for a month now, sort of come to a realisation, this country feels overcrowded and smells of shit all the time, maybe my nose is too sensitive or maybe it's just that I take the train too much. Just to console myself, I watched some nightmare commutes on YouTube, like Tokyo, Manilla, Mumbai, ours don't really come anywhere close, like Mumbai the commuters even hang outside of the train and jump into the train before it stops, or Tokyo and Manilla where they squeeze to the max skin to skin, imagine the shit smell of even more packed trains. I think if Singapore pushes for 10M population, we will see what I see in Tokyo, Manilla, Mumbai. Really don't know what this government is thinking, I wonder if our ministers take the train and smell the shit or not.

EWL and NSL MRT Always Smells of Shit

So due to my new job, I take the East-West Line and North-South Line on a daily basis, one thing that really annoys me is every ride always have this shit smell randomly, like somebody shit their pants or something, everytime I catch a whiff I quickly hold my breath. It's not like this is something new, I remember not so jialat but that was like more than 10 years ago when I used to take the EWL daily, after getting my own place, I only take direct bus. Take bus sometimes also have the shit smell but not as bad as MRT. I don't know what to say, shitting and farting is natural but to do so in train or bus with many people is just insane, people should practice good bowel habits, clear your shit regularly. Strangely Circle Line and Downtown Line I don't get the shit smell, maybe I don't take frequently enough but EWL and NSL every single fucking ride have the shit smell.
