Bought iPad (8th generation - 32 GB - A2270 - Silver) for Wife

Image
The price on apple's website is S$499.00 but I bought it at Courts for S$488. The salesperson signed me up for the Courts membership which is free, and instantly applied an S$11 discount. It also just happened to be the last piece, and only left silver colour, geez this iPad 8th Gen so popular or what. Actually last weekend I went to Challenger to buy but out of stock, so I guess it's really popular. I also bought a casing from them for S$49, somehow they also included a 3-piece "SoundTeoh KA3-2 Key Plug" for S$1 which I didn't need but I think good to have; the iPad itself comes with a 3-pin plug and a usb-c to lightning cable so don't really need the key plug. Unfortunately they don't sell screen protector for the iPad, but fortunately just right beside their store have a good ol' trusty handphone shop. So I bought the iPad's screen protector + replace my own iPhone 8's casing + replace my own iPhone 8's screen protector for a total of S$...

Switched to Giga Today

I received the SIM cards for myself and my wife today, one guy sent it to our home in the morning, just put it into our phones and activate using the Giga app, no hassle. So I expect to be able to save S$22 a month by switching, previously me and my wife's bill total is S$50. Thinking of getting a S$10 plan for daughter but I think she is too young to hold a mobile phone. These days so many choices for mobile plans, life getting better.

Just Know About Giga Today

Image
Today my colleague told me about this mobile operator named "Giga", he also told me it's actually under Starhub, then I took a look at their plans, first thing coming to my mind is bloody hell kena conned or what, or maybe I'm just super outdated. Anyway I have two sim only lines under Starhub, S$25 each so total S$50 a month. The data is 5GB + 10GB (for 12 months) with 100 minutes outgoing and 100 SMS. Strangely already more than 12 months but they still give me the extra 10GB but I guess it is because they know I'm paying more! So I signed up via the Giga app for the S$10 plan for myself, and a S$18 plan for my wife. I don't use much data so 6GB is way more than enough for me. But still find this quite unbelievable, how come they are running Starhub mobile plans and this Giga plans in parallel, just kind of don't make sense because who would pay more for way less features, those on sim only plans like me or those contract finish or going to finish surel...

Lol BTS Meal

Image
https://www.todayonline.com/8days/eatanddrink/newsandopening/mcdonalds-bts-meal-sells-out-5-mins-some-received-bts-logo-less For S$8.90, you get these: 9-piece Chicken McNuggets® - BTS-branded packaging Two new limited-time sauces (Sweet Chili and Cajun) Large Fries Large Coke® Original Taste Less Sugar - BTS-branded packaging So it's the same old 9-piece nuggets meal with a different packaging and sauces. Maybe because I'm not a BTS fan so the differences are totally negligible to me... I wonder what people are going to do to the packaging after they finish the food...

3rd Day After 1st Dose of Moderna

https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2021/06/went-for-first-dose-of-covid-19-vaccine.html Fortunately the only side effect I experience is swelling on the injection site, which is my left arm, first two days can feel the swelling, 3rd day forgotten about it already, now I touch can still feel a tiny bit of sore but if don't touch can't really feel it so I think tomorrow morning wake up should be totally gone. I have a colleague in office who went for his first dose, not sure if he had Moderna but he had a fever the next day, he kind of foresee it so he took leave in advance. I think the side effect really depends on the individual, some people may react well to it, some maybe not so well, but in general just relax and don't think too much, rest if need to, take leave if really cannot tahan, don't try to endure. Anyway not sure what will happen next, so after everybody gets vaccinated then what, can we resume to normal travel? Thinking of going to Thailand, long t...

Bought VANKYO C751 Headphone

https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2020/03/jbl-tune-500bt-arrived_7.html My JBL TUNE 500BT headphone spoil already after about one year of use. Problem is after power on, if shake a bit it will auto power off. The sound also a bit weird during online meeting, it will suddenly produce weird sounds, very disruptive. So I ordered the VANKYO C751 last Thursday and received it today, only 4 days. I paid S$73.36 which includes priority shipping. The new headphone feels solid, it covers my ears fully. Sound quality is good too. Only thing is Windows 10 doesn't show the battery indicator, but I guess this is Windows 10 problem. Now let's see how long this last. Update: The battery indicator in Windows 10 suddenly showed up, haha weird but it works. After a few days of use, find that the headphone feels much heavier, maybe need some getting used to.

Went for First Dose of Covid-19 Vaccine

Image
https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2021/06/received-sms-from-moh-for-covid-19.html So today went to the vaccination centre for my first dose, it's actually at a community centre. The vaccination centre is managed by Fullerton Health. My appointment was 9 AM, I reached there at around 8:20+, they let me proceed anyway. I must say they are very well organised, from entry to exit all very well executed. The whole process for me took around 45 minutes or less, which includes the 30 minutes observation time after the jab. I don't even need to know what to do, it's like a guided tour from start to finish. Just make sure you bring along your ID card and the TraceTogether Token or App. They will also ask for your SMS from MOH, just show it to them when requested. The jab itself is like any other jab that is not BCG, nothing special, less than 5 seconds settled, like a tiny pinch with fingernails, nothing to worry. I took two Panadol after I reached home even though I didn...

Received SMS from MOH for Covid-19 Vaccination

This morning I saw the SMS from MOH to inform that I can book appointment for vaccination. In the SMS there is a link to book the appointment. I followed the link and instructions, very straightforward. Have to book two appointments for two doses, so I booked this Sunday and the last Sunday of July. Wondering why my wife didn't receive any SMS, I think maybe because she didn't register interest, so just now I registered for her and baby, but I think there is no vaccine for 6 year old yet, but no harm registering anyway I guess.

Give Wrong Vaccine

https://www.todayonline.com/singapore/boy-16-remains-well-after-being-taking-moderna-vaccine-meant-for-18-and-above-thorough-review-done-moh Actually giving wrong vaccine is not uncommon in Singapore nor around the world, it also happened in our national immunisation programme too. In case you don't know what that is, see the link below. https://www.nir.hpb.gov.sg/nirp/eservices/immunisationSchedule Usually I heard kids accidentally getting extra dose, but always end up ok, the vaccines are actually very safe to use, I suppose extra dose means extra protection as long as it doesn't cause any adverse reaction. Anyway if the first dose is ok, subsequent dose should be ok too. For this particular case, it's not extra dose, it's still Covid-19 vaccination just that it's by a different manufacturer approved by US FDA. Safe or not safe for people below 18 years old nobody knows because their clinical trials are based on people 18 years or older. But like I mentioned, as l...
