Read About Amazon's FBA

https://services.amazon.com.sg/fulfillment-by-amazon/how-it-works.html Recently I read about Amazon's FBA program, and it sounds easy to get started, they actually have a warehouse in Singapore, which sellers can then send their products to the warehouse, and then when buyers buy from Amazon.com or Amazon.sg, the warehouse then pack and ship the products to the buyers, it's really kind of cool. I think even I also can start selling something and have my own business, but the problem is, need a product to sell, not sure where to get started on sourcing for products. But I think for people who already have products, isn't it great to be able to sell on Amazon, I mean their website is hugely popular, you can't possibly get a better exposure for your products, well at least that's what I think. Anyway, next week getting bonus and increment, wondering how much, but don't expect much, bonus at most 1 month, increment probably 4-5%, the standard, confirm tender after g

Be Careful, Murderers at Large

https://www.asiaone.com/singapore/girl-7-raped-and-murdered-1995-family-receive-tip-after-appeal-help The headline is about a little girl who was attacked in 1995, the murderer remains at large, then in the same article there are 3 other unsolved cases, but I notice all happened long ago, the most recent is 2000. I think in those times our technology maybe not so good, now 2021, everywhere also have camera. But these murderers still remain at large, how can they just get away with it so easily, if catch them must lock them up until they die, don't hang, too easy for them. I can't imagine who would attack a 7 year old girl, it's just crazy, what kind of world is this.

Richest Man in the World - Elon Musk

According to Forbes, this guy ranks number 1 as of now, worth $183.8 Billion USD, previously I think he was in top 10 but not number 1, suddenly become number 1, how I know is because my colleague told me today so I was quite surprised, I thought he was just selling autonomous cars or something. Right behind is Jeff Bezos of Amazon, $182.4 Billion USD, that's $1.4 Billion behind the number 1. I can't even imagine having $1 Billion USD, according to google it is $1,325,820,000.00 Singapore Dollar, that's around 18,542 years of my current salary plus bonus. I think wealth is such a weird thing, there are the super duper rich, then there are the super duper poor, it's just weird that money is able to define people's life. Then sometimes I feel that I'm just working to make money to pay bills, an endless cycle, and now that I have a family, feels like I'm stuck in this endless cycle, sounds kind of depressing lol. Feel like trying out something different, at lea

New Year New Resolution New Job?

This month going to get bonus and increment, today went for appraisal, not too good, not too bad, and I notice there is one statement about my general discipline needing improvement, not sure in particular which episode it is referring to, probably all maybe that's why it's "general", I guess it's because I shot back at my useless project managers several times, also shot back at the GovTech clowns a few times, for me very simple, if you come to me with unreasonable crap, don't expect me to return kindly, especially when I'm very busy, seriously I didn't have the time nor energy to entertain these clowns. Other than that black dot, my boss mentioned and penned down that I "saved" the project a few times, but I think he's just putting in nice words so I won't throw letter, I'm just doing what is supposed to be done, as with any other projects, the real problem with my project is team members have a gross lack of skill set and learn

Free Covid-19 Vaccine

https://www.todayonline.com/singapore/enough-vaccines-secured-all-sporeans-prs-and-long-term-residents-who-can-get-it-free-gan Wow, seems like all residents here will get the vaccination for free, except for tourists or short-term pass holders. Now that's cool stuff and really inclusive society, at least this time they didn't forget that some long-term pass holders are actually spouse or family member of Singaporeans. Now it's just a matter of when. Hope the vaccines arrive on time, everybody get vaccinated, then we can return to normal, hopefully can get back to normal before baby go to P1, really wish we can go visit my in-laws, bring my parents over too, they also getting older, should bring them over as much as possible.

Toto S$5M

Bought S$50 of quick pick, didn't even win anything haha, sigh, thought have chance to win something, oh well. Hope 2021 is better, the virus under control, everybody do our part to continue to keep it under control, but not sure when we can get vaccinated, I think it's not cheap, hopefully there is some subsidy or can use MediSave to pay, I think everybody should get vaccinated where possible. Then maybe try finding a new job after getting bonus, time to move on, getting quite stagnant already. Daughter also going K2 this year, so fast, next year P1. Anyway, Happy New Year to all!

Cold Calls from Recruitment Firms

Recently received quite a number of calls from recruitment companies, I already set my jobstreet profile to private so I don't think they got my details from there. So I asked one of them how they managed to get my profile, the guy told me they have it in their system from last year, told him currently not looking for job, he then asked me if I have any friend to recommend can call him. Sounds like they are getting desperate, digging through old profiles and making cold calls, machiam telemarketing. Anyway I have been working in current company for slightly over 2 years now, the project that I am working on has recently launched, no doubt very buggy but at least didn't have to rollback which we almost did due to some missing migrated data, luckily managed to discover and fix it and go ahead to rollout. Still many outstanding problems though but I suppose it's only natural, new system sure have teething issues, maybe another 6 months to 1 year it should stabilise. I saw this

Update on Kitchen

https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2020/11/bought-new-kitchen-and-kitchen-table.html Very satisfied with this new kitchen, this open concept is kind of cool, can see everything, if dirty can tell easily and clean up easily, should have got this from the beginning, I think when we move to new flat, definitely going to get this same kitchen or something similar. That's what I call cheap and good. I still like movable, no-need-to-dismantle furniture, for example wardrobe, don't like the built-in type, same rationale, if spoil or what need to dismantle, movable type just throw the whole thing away, way easier.

Bought New Kitchen and Kitchen Table (sort of)

Image
So yesterday had a body-aching-day, today not any better. Went to IKEA and bought SUNNERSTA kitchen (S$223) and FLYTTA kitchen trolley (S$249) which is actually our kitchen table. The SUNNERSTA has two versions, one is rack + sink, the other is rack + sink + water tap + pipe, I bought the latter. The assembly of the FLYTTA (S$249) was alright, only tool that they didn't provide is a large cross screw driver, other than that everything else was quite straightforward. Love this trolley-table, I think everybody should just get trolley-tables, so convenient. The assembly of the SUNNERSTA is seriously wtf, other than a large cross screw driver, also need a pipe cutter, wife went to buy a small hand saw just for this, S$7+. Don't understand why they didn't just pre-cut it, and they didn't say anything about how much to cut, only a picture to give a super rough idea. And the part (2 piece push together) that attach from the back of the sink to the bottom of the sink, geez spe

Dismantled Lower Cabinet, Replaced Burst Water Pipe

Today my wife keep nagging me about the kitchen sink (been nagging for a long time, geez), it has been leaking since forever, waiting for my father to fix but I think he is busy so don't want to keep chasing him, I know right, I don't like it when people keep chasing me. So I thought it's time I took things into my own hands. I personally dismantled the lower cabinet, wasn't as bad as I thought because the cabinet was wet throughout so it was easy to break apart, it's all just hard labour, damn tiring, breaking it down, carry it downstairs to throw, clean up, phew. The result is an empty space, the wall looks super disgusting so I won't post any picture, have already washed but can't get rid of the stains, so we will probably just paint over it. We are thinking maybe can get a SUNNERSTA from IKEA, and a small table, so tomorrow will drop by IKEA to take a look. Then when I thought one thing settled, the shower water pipe burst, like wtf man. I went online an
