Aircon Gas Leak

Image
https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2023/03/aircon-replacement-complete.html Aircon installed on 08 Mar, just nice one month later starting to get less cold, on 19 Apr I called the guy who did the installation, told me to try set 18 degrees and if still not cold, call him and he will come check. I tried and seems to be cool but not as cold as just installed, didn't pursue further, I just keep it around 23-24 degrees, but now set lower and lower at 20 degrees and still not cold, aircon is kind of like just blowing cool air but not cold air, wife keep complaining hot. I thought it's dirty or what but a bit unbelievable since it's brand new, washed the filter, didn't help, called a cleaning company to come check today, the guy told me it's a gas leak, he said the aircon is not dirty, he asked me when was aircon installed, told him last month, he looked surprised, he told me to go back to the people who installed the aircon because if he do it for me he will hav...

Update on Courts Refund

https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2023/03/regarding-courts-refund.html So I finally got my refund processed back into my credit card on 01 Apr, in total took almost one month. Thought I should share the series of events. 08 Mar - Called Courts @ 1800 222 6868 to ask for refund, told me if pay by credit they will refund to card in 10-14 days. 25 Mar - Waited more than 14 days no refund, went down to Courts store of purchase, staff said no record of refund, staff tried to process but said he can't initiate, took a photocopy of invoice and said will call me following Monday. Staff also mentioned that for refunds it has to be done in store. 29 Mar - No call from store. Called 1800 222 6868, told me they will check and get back same day or tomorrow and they confirmed that they did submit a refund to store on 08 Mar and if the store does not respond, they will reach out to the store manager. 30 Mar - Someone from the hotline called and told me I can go down to store to get the ...

Regarding Courts Refund

https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2023/03/aircon-replacement-complete.html Thought I should share this since people might not be aware (I'm not aware lol). I bought an aircon from Courts, they installed it early this month, end up no need steel bracket but I already paid for it via credit card. Tried calling Courts at 1800 222 6868, quite hard to get through, when I finally did, a lady picked up, told her the story, she said she will process the refund and Courts will credit back into my card in 10-14 days. I waited more than 14 days and still don't see the refund, so I went down directly to the Courts where I purchased the aircon, surprisingly the staff said there is no record of the refund, so the staff helped to process the refund but unfortunately he can't initiate because nobody at somewhere to process (he mentioned have to post something back), I guess it's the warehouse or something, it's a Saturday by the way. He took a photocopy of my invoice, sai...

Today Tried Li Yuan Mee Pok

Saw an offer on Foodpanda and decided to try, and very glad I did. They have a few variety of Mee Pok (or rather Bak Chor Mee), I ordered the Shoyu Mee Pok and Mushroom Minced Meat Noodle, both are very nice but personally I find the Shoyu one is a bit heavier on taste, I think I like the normal one more. Wife also like, it reminds her of the dumpling noodle back in Khao San Road. They probably improved on our local Bak Chor Mee, I bet the founder went to many stalls to try. Their noodle is cooked just nice, the pork just normal stuff, but the pork ball a bit special, have tiny chewy bits, sort of enhance the flavour, the sauce is just right, some other stalls add too much vinegar but this one is just nice, then lots of crispy bits at the bottom, soup is nice too, overall very well balanced and satisfying. This is easily one of the best I have tried, but I think Bak Chor Mee is an extremely competitive dish in Singapore, many good ones, hard to rank, another one I like is the Bedok...

YouTube Loaded with Scammers and Fake Gurus

Image
Recently I find that YouTube ads are getting longer and more frequent, the most bloody annoying ones are those that slide in a scam video or some fake gurus desperately trying to CONvince people to buy their useless course. I guess if people can't take it they can sign up for YouTube Premium, but I'm not going to pay a single cent, there's no added value, it just gets rid of the ads, at most I just spam F5 until the ads go away. I think Google is desperate for money, totally lost their direction and turned into a money-grabbing machine. When they lost the AI war, I really laughed out loud, these A-holes deserved it. I think they lost creativity, won't be surprised if they collapse within the next 5 years. See these two stupid asses from "Next Level Academy", if their course so tok gong, they no need to be so desperate and keep spamming ads on YouTube to CONvince people. Good things no need to try so desperately to sell, it will sell itself, only useless shitty...

Vaper or Vapist in Singapore

https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/more-caught-using-vaporisers-in-2022-hsa Vaping is getting very popular and common here in Singapore even though it is still illegal,  I think there is a fine but no jail. I see it quite often at smoking areas or sometimes when they walk, they just vape and put it back in their pocket. Personally I see vaping the same as smoking, I'm a smoker by the way but I don't vape, vape also don't have that smoke smell, you know after you smoke you walk into a room everybody will know you smoked but vaping don't have this problem, they even have all the funky flavours like lychee, skittles and whatnot. Some of my colleagues also vape, when I asked where they got it from, they always say they got it from a friend's friend, main reason why they vape is because it is cheaper than buying cigarettes. Health-wise don't know man, some articles say smoking more harmful, some say vaping more harmful, I guess in the end it all comes down to pri...

Image
https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2023/02/bought-daikin-single-split-rkm25pvmg.html Today the aircon contractor came to do the replacement, came around 12:45pm, finished everything around 2:20pm, less than 2 hours. They removed the old units, put in the new units, replaced the pipes, cleaned up, so fast. 3 guys came, fast hands fast legs and very polite. End up they didn't need to install new steel bracket because I can reuse my existing one, they called their office and their office say to call Courts, so I called Courts and managed to get a refund, asked me if I paid by credit card I said yes, so they will refund to my card in 10-14 days. S$1249 - S$140 = S$1109 for aircon. Ahh, finally tonight can enjoy some cool air, maybe this month going to get hot so timing is just nice.

Woman Killed by Ex-Husband and His Family

https://www.independent.co.uk/asia/china/abby-choi-murder-hong-kong-family-husband-alex-kwong-b2292511.html Family can sue each other, can even kill each other for money, wow, the ex-husband, his older brother, his father and his mother all conspired to kill and dismember the woman, whole family of evil. "In the refrigerator were two dismembered human legs, as well as two pots full of soup, containing carrots, green radishes, and minced meat that investigators suspected to be human remains." What the f*** sia.

Bought Daikin Single Split (RKM25PVMG Outdoor / FTKM25PVM Indoor)

Image
I found this Daikin single split at Courts:  https://www.courts.com.sg/daikin-rkm25pvmg-ftkm25pvm-inverter-single-split-aircon-installation-smart-envi-ip164477 I capture the screens below in case later disappear. Seems like a pretty good deal, got disposal but T&C applies and S$50 discount, so me wife and baby went to a nearby Courts to find out more because not sure how the installation and disposal of spoil units works. Go down there can't find the unit, but the sales guy say online deal also can buy in-store, so I show him my phone, then I got two surprises, disposal is free but dismantle is not free, need to pay S$101 for dismantling, also got another stainless steel bracket charge if I'm using stainless steel bracket (wtf?), if use some other rack or what no need, I always thought only have stainless steel bracket, mine is stainless steel bracket so need to pay another S$140. Kns, can't see these two charges online, good thing we asked at the store Wife's wants...

Aircon Spoil

Last week my aircon broke down, the compressor suddenly started to have very loud noise, after that both my indoor units turned off by themselves and show one blinking light, I guess something got fried. Yesterday got someone to check, says the compressor some electrical fault need to replace part, say need to go back and check for spare part. Today I called the company, told me they don't have spare part because my aircon is discontinued model, unlikely other vendor will have spare part. They also say their supplier is Mitsubishi and they checked directly. Oh well. https://marrythaigirlsingapore.blogspot.com/2014/06/paid-500-deposit-for-aircon-fridge-and.html Bought the aircon in Jun 2014, served us well for more than 8 years, but I was kind of expecting a bit longer though. The company gave me a quote to install new aircon, also Mitsubishi, seems super expensive, 1 outdoor + 1 indoor unit 9000 BTU S$1933, I think I will just get from outside, I see Courts Daikin single split with...
